Chapter 545 Manly Charm
Sebastian suspected that Alyssa was setting a trap for him, yet he had no evidence.
The two were at an impasse. Sebastian, feeling the weight of Alyssa's intense glare, grew increasingly irritated and chose to avert his eyes, unwilling to meet her challenging gaze head-on.
"This is non-negotiable. You know how hard it was to reserve this car. I've been eyeing it for half a year. Now you want me to trade it with you? If you were in my shoes, would you agree?" Sebastian held his own stance.
"Of course not, which is why I'm letting you pick two of your favorite cars from Reese's luxury garage. Before rejecting it outright, take a look first. I think the cars in Reese's garage are just as good as the one you reserved." Alyssa started to persuade Sebastian again.
Sebastian felt like he had caught Alyssa in a lie, inquiring, "If that's the case, why don't you just pick a car from here?"
Alyssa maintained her stance confidently, replying, "That's because Reese doesn't have that color. The starry blue of the one you've reserved is truly exceptional. It's not a color that can be easily replicated."
"It's an original factory color, impossible to replicate; even the quality is top-notch," Alyssa explained earnestly, hoping to convey her genuine admiration for the unique shade.
Despite Alyssa's sincerity, Sebastian remained unyielding. Undeterred, Alyssa pondered momentarily before a brilliant idea struck her. She was convinced that once she proposed it, Sebastian wouldn't be able to resist.
"How about this?" Alyssa proposed, "If you agree to trade with me, I can help you get in touch with Reese or find out information about her. You know Reese is still very guarded around you. But if you interact with her more and gain her trust, wouldn't you want to have such an amazing sister?"
Sebastian reflected inwardly, 'Man, I always wished for a sister as cool as Reese. Unlike my family, who's all about guarding their riches like dragons, I just want a rad sister like her.'
Yet, a flicker of doubt crept into Sebastian's mind. What if having Alyssa on his side could provide him with insider information about Reese's activities and whereabouts? It would undoubtedly be more convenient to interact with her, and Sebastian felt a strong desire to become Reese's shadow, hoping to glean valuable insights from her.
Sebastian started to waver but was still wary of Alyssa. After all, she seemed cunning and might be tricking him. "Can you really do that? Don't take the car and then deceive me," he confirmed.
Alyssa confidently patted her chest, then awkwardly withdrew her hand, realizing she was flat-chested. "Don't worry, I'm a studio owner. How could I be untrustworthy? Trust me, you won't regret it. Besides, I live with Reese, so it's convenient. It's just a small favor."
Alyssa kept assuring Sebastian, afraid he would disagree. Only Reese could change his mind now. Her tactic was flawless.
Sebastian gritted his teeth and made up his mind. For Reese, he was willing to take the risk. "Alright, I agree."
Alyssa looked at Sebastian with joy and immediately hugged his neck. "Sebastian, you're the best. I knew you were different from those other guys. I really like you."
Sebastian was taken aback by her sudden enthusiasm. Especially when Alyssa's soft body leaned in, he felt his body temperature rise sharply. His face stiffened, and he quickly pushed her away.
Alyssa looked at Sebastian in confusion. "What's wrong with you?"
Sebastian was taken aback by her bold question. "You're a girl. Can't you be a bit more reserved? You can't just hug any guy. If it were someone else, it could easily be misunderstood."
Alyssa caught sight of Sebastian's shocked look and misunderstood, presuming he was rejecting her. "What's the big deal? It's just a hug. I didn't do anything to you. And seriously, I don't go around hugging everyone. You're cool; I don't even bother with most folks."
Sebastian's expression darkened. It seemed futile to clarify things to Alyssa.
"In public, maybe tone it down. Gossip spreads fast," he advised.
Alyssa gave Sebastian a puzzled look; still didn't understand what he meant.
Once Sebastian settled on a car, he acknowledged the offer wasn't half bad. Reese's garage exuded luxury, boasting a fleet of modified cars, no expense spared on high-quality parts. His uneasiness gradually dissipated; had it been any other garage, he wouldn't have given it a second thought.
After choosing, Sebastian drove off in his favorite car, leaving the rest in Reese's garage. He'd come back for them later and maybe see Reese then.
The more Sebastian pondered on Reese, the deeper his admiration grew. Not only was she stunning, but also remarkably competent and talented. Where else could he find a sister as exceptional as her? He'd sooner part with his father than lose his dear sister.
The two stopped by a roadside, and Alyssa got out, asking Sebastian, "When should I come to get the car?"
"In about a week. The car isn't ready yet, and I haven't seen it in person," Sebastian replied.
Alyssa pondered briefly. A week didn't seem too lengthy or too brief—it was just perfect. With nothing else to do but bide her time, she nodded, conceding, "Alright, I'll keep you posted then."
"But I have one request. Can I borrow the car for two days once I get it?" Sebastian requested. After all, he had put in a lot of effort, but no one expected this twist.
Alyssa was generous as she agreed immediately, "No problem."
"Okay, be careful on your way back. I'm leaving now." Sebastian started the car and left.
As she watched Sebastian depart, Alyssa felt a wave of triumph washing over her. She had finally convinced him.
During their time at the gym, Sebastian conducted himself with maturity, refraining from engaging in the banter of the rowdier individuals.
Initially assuming that someone as privileged and pampered as Sebastian would exhibit wild arrogance, Alyssa was pleasantly surprised by his self-awareness. This newfound revelation significantly enhanced her opinion of him.
