Chapter 505 Everhart's Concealment

Reese shot him a lazy glance. "What if I want to punch you?"

"Depends. If you break me, you won't have such a handsome husband anymore."

Malcolm's voice was low, trembling in the damp, cold air, like a flame cutting through the chill.

"Honey, how about we go home first?"

Reese could feel Malcolm's body heating up, warm and heavy.

She refused, just because he teased her earlier.

"Go back for what? Isn't it nice like this?"

Malcolm raised an eyebrow, his eyes filled with desire.

"Are you sure?"

Reese was caught off guard, locking eyes with him.

Malcolm gently caressed her face with his long, well-defined fingers, veins faintly visible.

Reese snapped out of her reverie and almost instantly got off his lap.

"Stop, it's time to go. I have serious business to attend to."

What a joke, he wanted to do it here, at the factory entrance, where people could pass by at any moment. Malcolm had really been getting bolder lately.

Malcolm was just joking. He'd never let his wife do it in such a place. If someone saw them, that would be unacceptable.

His wife was for his eyes only; if anyone else looked, he felt like they were stealing from him.

Reese got into the driver's seat and then talked business with Malcolm.

"Louis just called. Nolan's been looking for Everhart again."

Malcolm frowned. "What's Nolan want with Everhart? Didn't you send him away? By now, he should've given up."

Reese rubbed her temples in frustration. "Louis said Everhart knows Nolan's secret. Nolan never really stopped looking for him; he just wanted us to let our guard down."

"Seems the evidence Everhart has must be pretty damaging to Nolan, or he wouldn't be so persistent."

"But I've changed my mind now." Reese's eyes darkened, her usually cool face showing displeasure.

Malcolm understood. "Because he lied to you, right?"

He knew exactly what Reese was thinking when she saved Everhart. Because of Everhart, they even had their first fight since their marriage, over someone insignificant.

In the end, what did Reese's kindness get her? Deception.

For her, it was a blow. No one knew how much internal struggle she went through to agree.

He had always said that Everhart wasn't worth sympathizing with.

Reese's lips tightened, her features becoming more severe. Malcolm wasn't used to this aura from Reese.

She told Malcolm, "I'll handle this. You don't need to worry."

Since it was her mess, it was only right for her to clean it up.

Malcolm could see that Reese's emotions were affected, but she was controlling it well. If it were someone else, they might have already wanted to find Everhart and tear him apart.

His warm, large hand enveloped her slightly cold one, his tone full of comfort. "Honey, no matter what, even if it's something small, remember you have me to rely on. Don't carry everything by yourself. It was unavoidable before, but now it's different. You have to let me be useful, right?"

Reese was in a better place now; she had someone she trusted. In the past, she often suspected ulterior motives whenever someone was kind to her.

She also held his hand back, the coldness in her eyes gradually softening.

"Honey, I know. Since you're being so considerate today, I've decided to go home and pamper you."

Malcolm raised an eyebrow in surprise and reached out to pinch Reese's cheek.

"Between the two of us, who's pampering whom? Let's get that straight."

Reese's fighting spirit was ignited by Malcolm again, her eyes burning with determination.

"No problem, but what if you lose?"

"If I lose, I'll call you 'sweetie' or 'baby.'"

Reese scoffed, "Who wants you to call me that?"

But she couldn't help feeling pleased.

Malcolm grinned, full of confidence. "You don't need to worry about that. I can't guarantee other things, but in this area, you know my capabilities, right?"

His voice was incredibly husky, his warm fingertip brushing across the back of her hand. He lowered his head and smiled, his voice deep and lazy, a bit mischievous.

Reese shivered, feeling all her nerve endings concentrate on that one spot.

"You're getting more and more improper."

"What's the point of being proper in front of my wife?"

After that, Malcolm went to the office, and Reese headed to the secret base. Both had their own things to take care of.

When Reese got back, she called out loudly, "Louis."

"Reese, why did you come here yourself?"

Louis came down from the second floor. When he called Reese earlier, wasn't she still at the coffee factory? Did she finish things there so quickly?

Reese pulled out a chair and sat down, opening the laptop in front of her, her gaze serious.

"First, check where Everhart is now."

Louis was puzzled. "Didn't you personally arrange for him to be in Skyport City last time?"

Reese let out a cold, mocking laugh, her slender fingers deftly twirling the pen in her hand. "Do you think Everhart would obediently stay there? Since he has Nolan's secret, he will definitely look for a chance to strike back. He won't wait to die. He knows very well that this can't be hidden forever, and sooner or later, I would find out."

Louis immediately added, "And Everhart knows your temper. The thing you hate most in this life is being deceived. He's already crossed your bottom line."

This time, Reese definitely wouldn't let Everhart go. Everhart was courting death himself. If he had trusted Reese and handed over Nolan's evidence, maybe Reese would have protected him. Now, he was reaping what he sowed.

Not only was Nolan after him, but Reese wouldn't let him off easily either.

Now he was truly besieged on all sides. Compared to before, when only Nolan was after him, this was nothing.

Reese's typically cool gaze turned icy, her demeanor exuding fierce intensity.

"Everhart betrayed my last bit of trust in him, and he must pay for it!"

Louis couldn't help but shiver, silently mourning for Everhart.

Hopefully, he could enjoy his good days while they lasted, because the future might be even more challenging.

Louis pulled out a chair and sat next to Reese. "Reese, I'll check his location first. Didn't we install a tracking system in his phone to prevent him from causing trouble? Maybe we can lock onto him quickly."

"Yes, hurry up and check. The longer it takes, the more trouble it could cause."

That's why she rushed over without taking a break, concerned that something might go wrong.

After checking, Louis didn't get a good result. Reese noticed Louis had stopped typing and turned to ask, "What happened?"

"Reese, I can't lock onto Everhart's location. The signal is completely gone."

Reese sneered, "Looks like he discovered the tracker in his phone long ago and removed it. He's definitely not in Skyport City anymore. Only God knows where he ran off to."

Louis didn't know what to do next. They weren't omnipotent. Without the tracking system, it would be very difficult to find him.

However, it wasn't entirely impossible; it would just be extremely challenging.

"Reese, do you want me to go to Skyport City?"

"I'll go with you."

Louis was surprised. "No, Reese, I can handle it alone. Besides, Calvin hasn't returned yet, and someone needs to stay at the secret base. If something happens here, we won't be able to get back in time."

Reese thought for a moment before agreeing.

"Alright, but if you encounter any danger, you must retreat immediately. Don't confront him directly. Everhart isn't worth it."

Louis knew Reese was looking out for him. "Got it, Reese."
