Chapter 489 Ruthless and Cruel
Vincent didn't care about anything anymore. He felt numb. If the plan failed, he was screwed anyway, so what was there to fear?
He shrugged and sneered, his eyes filled with bitter mockery.
"Malcolm, you think you can still scare me? I've lived in your shadow for years. Now you want to keep me down? You've always been the favorite, always in the spotlight. You can't understand my feelings. What right do you have to judge me?"
Malcolm frowned, his face darkening. "Grandpa never had any prejudice against you. He just wanted you to take the right path, so he pushed you to study medicine. You were the one who told Grandpa you wanted to be a doctor after Mom died. That's why he supported you, found famous doctors to mentor you. Who knew you'd end up wishing for Grandpa's death just to take over the Flynn Group?"
Malcolm didn't think being president was better than being a doctor. Each had its own merits. The key was to do your job well.
Aiden sighed. "Maybe you don't remember, but the servants can testify. These are the records of my communications with those medical veterans over the years."
Aiden wasn't doing this for anything else but to prove he never had any selfish motives towards Vincent.
They were all Flynn family children, and he chose the best path for both of them.
But now it seemed Vincent hadn't understood his good intentions and had taken a path of no return.
However, Vincent refused to listen. "So what? We each have our own will. We don't need you to make decisions for us!"
Malcolm seemed to understand Vincent's point. "So, you still stubbornly believe that what we did was wrong and that we were out to harm you. But that's beside the point; we were merely informing you. As for the rest, you can think about it yourself."
Vincent looked at Malcolm warily. "What do you want to do?"
"What do I want to do? Shouldn't you be very clear about that? Everyone has to bear the consequences of their actions, and you are no exception."
Malcolm's cold gaze fixed on Vincent. "From today on, you have no relation to the Flynn Group or the Flynn family. You can stay at the current clinic, but the resources Grandpa sought for you are no longer available to you because they were meant for the Flynn family's children. Your actions have made us feel that the Flynn family is ashamed of you!"
Malcolm could accept anything Vincent did, but he couldn't accept that Vincent wanted to harm Grandpa. Whatever the reasons, a man can't harm his own family. That's basic human decency.
Without basic human decency, what else is there?
Vincent laughed coldly. "Yes, the Flynn family is ashamed of me and proud of you. But all of this was forced upon me by you. You didn't give me a chance; you made me this way!"
Malcolm didn't want to waste another word on him. Vincent's actions were truly disheartening.
He instructed Justin beside him, "Make the arrangements to issue a media announcement. Let everyone know that the Flynn family no longer has anyone named Vincent. Whatever you do in the future is no longer associated with the Flynn family."
This completely kicked Vincent out of the Flynn family. Everyone was shocked, not expecting Malcolm to be so decisive in handling this. This was an unprecedented decision.
Justin nodded. "Got it."
He walked up to Vincent, still polite. "Sorry, but you're no longer part of the Flynn Group. Please leave."
Vincent now felt isolated. He never expected Malcolm to come out unscathed.
Seeing Justin trying to escort him, Vincent pushed him away.
"Don't touch me. I can walk out myself."
As Vincent passed by Malcolm and Reese, he shot them a vicious glance.
"Tell me, did you know all along that I was behind this? Was everything planned by you from the start?"
Malcolm's lips curled slightly, his eyes full of cunning.
"Think you're the only one who can scheme, huh??"
Vincent clenched his fists tightly but couldn't do anything to Malcolm. He knew he was no match for him. If he tried to fight now, Reese alone could take him down without Malcolm lifting a finger.
But he couldn't swallow this anger. He couldn't let it go.
In an instant, Vincent's attitude softened as he looked at Aiden.
"Grandpa, can I stay in the Flynn family? I know I was wrong."
Aiden directly refused. "You can visit the Flynn family in the future, but you are no longer part of us. Our family doesn't want someone who would harm their own relatives for personal gain. This isn't just about wanting success; it's about losing your conscience."
Vincent heard the first part of Aiden's words and still held onto hope. As long as there was a chance, he would seize it. At least he wasn't completely barred from the Flynn family.
He planned to proceed cautiously, refusing to give up easily. He wasn't that kind of person.
Vincent nodded. "Okay, I understand, Grandpa. This time, I was wrong. I was blinded by ambition. I hope you can forgive me."
Aiden closed his eyes and didn't respond. He was truly tired and didn't want to talk to Vincent anymore, especially after what Vincent had said to him in the hospital, which had deeply hurt him.
No matter what, Vincent was still the person he had raised. How could there be no feelings at all? It was Vincent's actions that were truly heartbreaking.
Vincent knew that Aiden wouldn't forgive him at the moment, so he chose not to elaborate. Some things needed to be thought over.
Before he could leave, he heard Malcolm's cold warning.
"You better not have any other thoughts. This is your last chance. If there's a next time, I'll have to send you to prison."
Vincent's face stiffened. Malcolm even seemed to anticipate his thoughts.
However, he was determined to make a comeback. For years, he had worked hard to climb to the top, suppressing himself all the while. Why should a few words from them send him to hell? His life was his to decide.
After Vincent left, Malcolm looked at the shareholders who were still sitting and watching the drama.
"Meeting adjourned. The company will operate as usual. As for your own matters, handle them privately. If I find out that anyone has brought shame to the company or done something shady, I will not tolerate it! You are all important leaders of the company, so I hope you will abide by the company's rules."
The shareholders nodded one after another. Who would dare have any other thoughts now? Vincent was an example. If Malcolm didn't spare his own family, how could he spare outsiders?
But the good thing was that after Malcolm's handling of this matter, no one dared to have any ulterior motives. Even if they did, they would keep it to themselves.
There had always been rumors that Malcolm was decisive and ruthless. Now it seemed he had indeed reached that level.
