Chapter 465 Grandpa's Condition
Calvin said, "Vincent is definitely furious. He must have been planning this for a long time; just when he was about to succeed, you stopped him."
Calvin couldn't help but laugh when he thought of Vincent's expression earlier. He finally understood what it meant for all efforts to be ruined overnight.
But what could be done? Vincent had to go and offend her husband. Reese was very protective of her husband, and Vincent was practically asking for trouble.
Reese snorted. "What could I do? He had to go and offend my husband."
Was her husband someone who could be easily offended?
At this moment, Justin walked up, looking at Reese with gratitude. "Mrs. Flynn, you are a lifesaver. Without you, we would have been in big trouble."
Reese said, "It's nothing. Vincent had planned all of this long ago. His goal was to use this opportunity to force Malcolm to resign from the Flynn Group."
Reese had considered this possibility before. Vincent's actions were too suspicious. How could everything happen so coincidentally?
She had planned to come to the Flynn Group to help Malcolm handle things; but then there was a fatal accident at the construction site. At that moment, anyone would have to prioritize that.
While Reese was dealing with the incident, Justin called to say that Vincent had gathered all the shareholders to remove Malcolm.
If she couldn't figure it out, it would be truly inexplicable.
Justin asked, "What should we do about Mr. Flynn now? He's still under investigation and might not be out for a while."
He was worried about what to do with the company. It couldn't be left without someone in charge; the rumors outside were already flying, none of which were favorable to Mr. Flynn or the Flynn Group.
Reese thought for a moment. "If there's no other way, I'll have to take over temporarily."
Justin was shocked. "You..."
Not to mention the shareholders, even Aiden might not agree.
Seeing Justin's incredulous face, Reese raised an eyebrow confidently. "What, you think I'm not as capable as your Mr. Flynn?"
Justin quickly waved his hand. "Mrs. Flynn, don't misunderstand. I didn't mean that. I'm just worried that if you to take over the group temporarily, the shareholders might not agree."
Reese narrowed her eyes, showing a sharp intelligence.
Calvin spoke up at this moment, "You're underestimating Reese. She never does anything she's not confident about. Once she decides, the success rate is at least ninety percent. Besides, you don't have a better option now."
Justin had to admit that he was indeed out of options. He felt guilty for failing Malcolm's trust. Malcolm had told him to take good care of the company; but in such a short time, Vincent had taken advantage and almost ousted Malcolm from his position.
But thinking of Aiden, Justin suddenly panicked. "Oh no, Mr. Aiden Flynn..."
Reese asked, "What's wrong with Grandpa?"
Justin slapped his forehead in regret. "Mrs. Flynn, I forgot to tell you. When Mr. Vincent Flynn was about to enter the meeting room with others, I called Mr. Aiden Flynn; but then Mr. Tartt said Mr. Aiden Flynn had fainted."
Reese was shocked. "Fainted? Where is he now?"
Justin replied, "He should be at the hospital. We need to call Mr. Tartt to find out."
Reese said anxiously, "What are you waiting for? Call him now."
Reese knew very well how important Aiden was to Malcolm. If Malcolm found out that something had happened to Aiden during the investigation, he would be very upset. She had lost loved ones before and knew that feeling all too well.
Justin quickly took out his phone and called Jason, "Mr. Tartt, where are you now?"
Jason said, "We're at the best hospital in the city, but Mr. Aiden Flynn's condition seems complicated. The doctors can't find the cause."
Jason didn't know what to do either. The most worrying issue was that if something happened to Aiden, how would he explain it to Malcolm?
At this moment, Reese took the phone from Justin and spoke to Jason, "If the doctors are unsure, tell them not to do anything for now. I'll be there soon."
Jason replied, "Okay."
After hanging up, Reese told Justin, "You stay here and watch over the company. Call me if anything happens. Calvin, give me the car keys."
Calvin's face turned pale when he heard Reese was going to drive. "Reese, no need. I'll drive."
Calvin was worried that he might throw up before Reese even reached the hospital.
Reese glared at him. "If we wait for you to drive, Grandpa's life might be in danger."
Calvin didn't dare to argue anymore. It was a matter of life and death. "Alright."
After getting in the car, Calvin tightly gripped the door handle, nervously watching Reese. "Reese, please drive carefully."
Reese uttered, "You just hold on."
As soon as Reese finished speaking, she stepped on the gas, almost sending Calvin flying out of the car.
Calvin's face turned white, saying, "Reese, can you drive more carefully?"
Reese ignored Calvin and, upon reaching the hospital entrance, got out of the car and told Calvin, "I'll go in first. You park the car."
Calvin nodded. "Alright, Reese, don't worry."
He needed to throw up outside first; it would be embarrassing if Reese saw it.
Reese quickly walked to where Jason had mentioned. Jason was already waiting at the door.
Seeing Reese, he hurried up. "Mrs. Flynn."
Reese asked, "How's Grandpa?"
Jason replied, "The doctors still can't find the cause. I have no idea what to do."
Jason was in a difficult position. The doctors were helpless, and this was the best hospital. Transferring to another hospital wasn't really an option.
Reese uttered, "Where's Grandpa? Let me see him first."
Jason said, "He's in the ward. The doctors are examining him. It's Mr. Aiden Flynn's previous attending physician. If even he can't do anything, I don't know what to do."
Jason was more anxious than anyone. The Flynn family was already in chaos. If something happened to Aiden, how would he explain it to Malcolm?
Reese said, "Let's go take a look first."
Reese followed Jason to the ward, where people were examining Aiden. Reese pushed through the crowd. "Excuse me."
Dr. Victor Stewart saw a stranger and naturally became cautious. "Sorry, who are you? Unauthorized personnel are not allowed in the ward."
Jason explained, "This is Mrs. Flynn."
However, Victor was very strict; being the best doctor in the hospital, he was somewhat arrogant. Seeing someone like Reese, he naturally didn't take her seriously. "Sorry, even if you're Mrs. Flynn, you need to follow the hospital's rules."
Victor's tone was strong, which made Reese uncomfortable. Jason didn't dare to offend the doctor. They were counting on these doctors to figure out the situation and save Aiden's life.
Jason could only say, "Mrs. Flynn, don't mind him. This doctor has a temper."
Reese was never one to be threatened, especially by stubborn doctors. She didn't know how skilled he was, but his attitude was certainly unlikable.
Her gaze turned cold. "Sorry, if you insist on this, then please tell me, what's Grandpa's condition?"
