Chapter 468: In Cahoots with Him
Everly asked, "Reese, what do you mean by this? How dare you bring another man here? Are you out of your mind?"
Everly was now completely unrestrained. After all, she had already been kicked out, so there was nothing left to fear.
Reese glanced at Everly indifferently, without any extra expression, as if she wasn't even willing to acknowledge her. Her disdainful look made Everly feel ignored, and her anger surged instantly.
Reese said, "Who I bring back has nothing to do with you. Besides, you've already left the Flynn family, so you have no right to meddle in my affairs."
Everly reacted as if she had heard a joke. "Nothing to do with me? Reese, you must be crazy. I've been in the Flynn family for years, and you've barely been here any time. Even if I've left the Flynn family, I still have a chance to come back. But you, if things go south with Malcolm, you could easily be replaced. When that happens, who do you think will stay in the Flynn family? You should know."
Reese raised an eyebrow coldly, showing no fear of Everly's words, her eyes still shining brightly. "I don't think anyone else is worthy of Malcolm besides me. If there is, it only proves I'm not good enough. In that case, I wouldn't want to hold him back. But if he falls for someone else, it only proves I'm too good for him."
Everly was shocked. How confident could this woman be to say such things?
Everly shrugged and sneered. "You really are confident. I'm going to tell Grandpa right now that you brought another man home. Let's see if he still lets you stay in the Flynn family."
Reese remained unconcerned. "Go ahead, I don't mind. As long as you can get Grandpa to kick me out of the Flynn family, you can do whatever you want with me."
Everly said, "Fine, let's see how long you can stay smug. Just wait, I'm calling Grandpa right now."
Reese agreed readily. "Sure, do you want us to stand here while you take a video to prove your point? It would be more convincing, wouldn't it?"
Calvin quickly stood next to Reese and said to Everly, "Yeah, you can take a video. Maybe then you'll have a chance to kick Reese out, if you have the skills."
Everly was almost driven mad by their fearless attitude.She pointed at Reese and Calvin with trembling fingers. "You two are outrageous! Do you think no one can deal with you?"
Reese glanced at her watch impatiently. "Are you going to take the video or not? If not, I'm going inside."
Everly couldn't swallow this anger, especially seeing Reese's fearless expression, which only fueled her rage. "Fine, that's what you ask for."
Saying that, Everly called Aiden on video. Aiden, who had been watching comments about the Flynn Group on his phone, saw Everly's call and answered it, "Everly, what's up?"
Everly said, "Grandpa, look at Reese. Look at who she brought home. She must have something going on with this man."
Everly pointed the camera at Reese and Calvin. Calvin smiled and greeted Aiden, "Grandpa."
Aiden asked, "Hello, are you home already?"
Since Reese saved Aiden in the hospital, his attitude towards her had changed significantly.
Everly's eyes widened in shock at Aiden's greeting. "Grandpa, are you serious? We don't know this man, and we don't know where Reese brought him from."
Aiden sternly rebuked Everly on the video, "Don't talk nonsense. This young man is Reese's cousin. If it weren't for them, you might not see me now."
Everly said, "What cousin? Grandpa, you've been deceived. He's not her cousin; they have no blood relation."
Aiden said, "I don't care if this young man is her cousin or not. The big picture is what matters now. Enough of arguing! You should focus on solving the company's problems."
Aiden was anxious about the company's issues. Instead of helping, Everly was arguing with Reese over trivial matters. He had spoiled her too much, making her the way she was now.
Scolded by Aiden, Everly felt even more wronged after being looked down upon by Reese. Tears welled up in her eyes. "I..."
Aiden uttered, "Hang up now. Don't bother Reese and her cousin. They're busy with the company's issues. If they need your help, you must fully cooperate. Also, tell Vincent not to come back home. I don't want to see him right now. I'll deal with him when I'm out of the hospital."
Everly was shocked. Did Grandpa already know everything was Vincent's doing? How could that be? Wasn't his plan flawless? There shouldn't be any issues.
She tentatively asked, "Grandpa, why are you so angry? Did Vincent do something?"
Aiden said, "I don't want to talk about it now. I'll announce it when I get back."
With that, Aiden hung up. Everly felt even more uneasy. If Aiden knew the truth, she would be implicated by Vincent. Would she still have a chance to return to the Flynn family?
Reese noticed the subtle changes in Everly's expression. She suddenly shouted, "Everly, are you in cahoots with Vincent?"
Everly was startled by the sudden voice and quickly retorted, "Reese, you are crazy. How could I be in cahoots with Vincent? Besides, I don't even know what he did."
Reese asked, "Really? But you look quite pale. Are you sure this has nothing to do with you, or that you don't know about Vincent's actions?"
Everly stiffened her neck and replied, "Of course, I don't know. Vincent and I aren't that close. Stop slandering me!"
