Chapter 463 Want Evidence? That's Easy
The shareholders exchanged glances and decided to trust Vincent's words. No one was clear about Malcolm's current situation, and the company's recent troubles were already a big headache. They weren't even sure if their interests could be safeguarded.
Malcolm's mismanagement had caused significant risks for them. If he continued to manage the company, who knew if similar issues would arise again.
One shareholder suddenly stood up. "I agree to remove Malcolm and have Vincent take over as president."
The rest said, "We agree too."
One shareholder said, "Then it's settled. Since we've decided on Vincent, there's no need to hesitate. We still don't know what's going on with Malcolm inside jail."
Seeing the sudden shift in the situation, Justin panicked. He checked the time; it had been over an hour, and Reese still hadn't returned.
Vincent seemed well-prepared. Although the shareholders were momentarily swayed by Justin's words, Vincent quickly regained control of the situation.
What should he do now? If the shareholders signed the papers, even if Malcolm returned, he would no longer be the CEO of the Flynn Group.
Vincent's move to take advantage of the situation was indeed well-played.
As the situation was about to be finalized, Justin considered calling Reese again. But there was no use. Even if Reese came now, it might be too late.
At this moment, Vincent declared, "The vote is effective. From today, I will take over as president of the Flynn Group."
"Wait a minute!" Suddenly, a clear and powerful female voice sounded at the door. Justin turned around to see Reese and Calvin walking in.
At that moment, Justin felt a glimmer of hope.
Justin said, "Mrs. Flynn, you're finally here."
Reese patted Justin's shoulder. "Thank you for your hard work. Leave the rest to me."
Vincent, with his hands on the table, stared at Reese with hawk-like eyes and said disdainfully, "If I remember correctly, Reese, you don't have the right to enter the Flynn Group's meeting room. After all, you're not a shareholder and have no right to participate in this decision."
Reese had anticipated Vincent's words. Her eyes showed a hint of coldness.
Reese said, "Indeed, I'm not a shareholder, but I can represent my husband. You're trying to remove the CEO of the Flynn Group without considering him. That's unfair to him."
Vincent sneered. "Are you kidding? You want to represent my brother just because you're his wife? Sorry, but that's not enough. Anyone could claim to represent him, and that would be chaotic."
Reese walked steadily to Vincent, undeterred by their height difference. Her bright eyes, full of hostility, stared at Vincent. "Vincent, you talk about chaos, but don't you think it's against the rules to remove the CEO as a shareholder? And you must have offered these shareholders some benefits in private."
Vincent's eyes narrowed, filled with a sinister look that made people uneasy. Even Justin had never seen this cold side of the usually gentle and healing Vincent.
Malcolm had warned before that Vincent was not as simple as he appeared. His inner complexity and calculations were known only to himself.
Now it seemed Malcolm was right; they needed to be wary of him.
Facing Reese's questioning, Vincent remained calm. He was determined to win today, and no one could stop him from becoming the president of the Flynn Group.
Vincent said, "If you say so, at least show some evidence."
Reese said, "Evidence isn't necessary. Since it's an election, it's not too late for everyone to hear me out before voting."
Reese stood beside Vincent, shoulder to shoulder. Despite the height difference, her powerful presence was undeniable.
Even Vincent felt a strong sense of oppression standing next to Reese, though he was unsure where it came from.
Why was this happening?
He was actually being suppressed by Reese.
Ignoring Vincent, Reese calmly addressed the shareholders, "Since everyone knows about the company's recent troubles, our first thought should be how to solve the problem, not to replace the CEO at the first sign of trouble. If every company acted like this, the Flynn Group wouldn't have reached its current heights."
Vincent scoffed. "This is no small issue. It has even alarmed the relevant departments, which means there's a problem. Haven't you heard the saying, 'There's no smoke without fire'?"
Reese agreed, "Indeed, I believe that too. Otherwise, how could such a thing happen? This was all orchestrated by Vincent. While Malcolm was busy, you created this chaos. The incident at the construction site was also your scheme. You knew Brandon was taking kickbacks but didn't inform Malcolm immediately."
Vincent's attitude remained unchanged. "You can say that, but I still need evidence."
Reese's eyes were full of confidence.
Reese said, "Getting evidence is simple."
Reese snapped her fingers and said to Calvin, "Give him the evidence."
"Got it, Reese." Calvin handed over several documents to Vincent, adding, "Your mistake was messing with the wrong person."
Vincent's face stiffened. Reese didn't give him time to think, pointing to the first blue-covered document. "This is your report and the call you made. Although you used someone else's phone, the voice is yours. Here's the recording. And this one is the transfer record to David Harris in the Flynn Group's finance department, along with your call logs. If anyone wants to listen, we can play it for everyone to see how you fell into Vincent's trap step by step."
Vincent's face turned ashen, his eyes filled with malice. He clenched his fists tightly, not expecting Reese to uncover so much information in such a short time while handling other matters.
What other identities did Reese have that they didn't know about?
