Chapter 515 Are You Out of Your Mind?

"Be careful," Malcolm said. It was better if they split up; things could get messy if they stayed together.

Even though he really wanted to follow Reese to keep her safe.

"If you find Everhart, call me," Reese told Malcolm.

She needed to confront Everhart face-to-face about his repeated betrayals.

After Malcolm agreed, they went their separate ways.

They searched the hospital thoroughly but couldn't find Everhart, not even in the obstetrics department.

Reese found it odd. Everhart couldn't just vanish into thin air.

She suddenly remembered the hospital's surveillance system and called Louis. "Louis, any sign of Everhart?"

"Not yet," Louis replied, puzzled. How could they have searched so long without finding him? Even the doctors said no one resembling Everhart or Dahlia had shown up.

"Here's the plan: I'll go to the surveillance room and keep you on the phone. If I spot Everhart, you go get him. Nolan shouldn't be here yet; otherwise, there'd be a commotion."

She knew Nolan well enough to know that if he made a move, it wouldn't be quiet.

"Sounds good," Louis agreed. "Call me if you find anything."

"Okay."

Reese headed straight to the surveillance room.

Naturally, the staff wouldn't let her in easily and immediately stopped her.

"Miss, can I help you?"

"Sorry, my sister might have been forced to have an abortion here. My family is really worried, and we can't find her. We're afraid she's in danger."

Reese sounded genuinely anxious, her eyes red and teary. Her performance was so convincing that even she almost believed it.

The staff, taken aback by Reese's beauty—like an angel descended from heaven—agreed without hesitation. "If it's that urgent, I'll let you take a look."

Reese wiped away her fake tears.

"Thank you so much. If I find my sister, I'll definitely thank you properly."

"No problem. Human life is priceless. Young girls these days are so naive. As family members, you have to be careful."

Reese nodded while adjusting the surveillance footage.

"Exactly. My parents are almost frantic and were about to call the police."

She continued to make small talk with the staff.

Twenty minutes later, she froze the frame, locking onto a familiar face.

Found him!

But judging by the time, he should have already left; it had been exactly twenty minutes.

She told the staff, "Thank you, I've found her. I have to go now."

With that, Reese ran out, leaving the staff with no time to take another look at her. He could only watch her leave and sigh, wishing he could have a girlfriend as beautiful as her.

Reese ran while calling Louis. "Louis, Everhart is likely heading to the airport now. You go ahead; Malcolm and I will follow."

"Got it, I'm on my way." Louis hung up and quickly headed out.

Reese found Malcolm and pulled him towards the hospital exit.

"Everhart is heading to the airport. We need to get there quickly."

"I was just about to tell you, Nolan's people are already on their way. They might reach Everhart before we do."

"What?" Reese frowned, her face turning grim. There had been no news that Nolan knew about this, and now she was being told they were already heading to the airport.

Malcolm grabbed Reese's arm and pulled her along.

"Now's not the time to worry about how Nolan found out. What you should be concerned about is getting there quickly. As long as we find Everhart before Nolan, we haven't lost."

Reese nodded. "Let's go, then."

After getting in the car, Malcolm intended to take the driver's seat, but Reese stopped him.

"I'll drive."

"Let me do it," Malcolm hesitated for a moment, then gently moved Reese's hand aside, with a confident smile on his face.

Reese knew Malcolm was worried she hadn't rested well last night, but Malcolm's driving skills...

She worried they might not make it in time.

Malcolm knew exactly what Reese was thinking. He ruffled her hair.

"Don't worry, I won't let you down this time."

Seeing Malcolm so determined, Reese could only agree. She slid into the passenger seat. Malcolm started the car, and it shot out like an arrow. The speed was astonishing. Reese was momentarily taken aback, especially by the sharp turn, which left her in awe.

"Hey, when did you learn that move?" she asked, surprised.

That maneuver wasn't easy to learn. It required quick reflexes and precise coordination. A slight delay could not only fail the turn but also cause the car to flip.

She had once seen someone try a sharp turn on the highway, only to have the car flip over the guardrail, resulting in death.

Malcolm must have practiced that move a lot to pull it off here. Judging by his skill, he was quite proficient; otherwise, he wouldn't risk it.

"I'll tell you when we get back," Malcolm said, raising an eyebrow and giving a confident smile that mesmerized Reese.

He was really different from other men, especially with that confident and sharp look in his eyes, though he had toned it down a bit.

Malcolm not only fit her aesthetic perfectly but also matched her personality and style.

Reese reminded herself that now was the time to focus on the task at hand and not get distracted.

"Alright, tell me when we get back."

Today, she just hoped to resolve the issue with Everhart quickly.

Nolan had told her before that Everhart was a ticking time bomb, and she hadn't believed it. Now, it seemed he was right.

She deeply regretted getting involved with him in the first place; it had caused her so much trouble.

When they arrived at the airport, fortunately, Louis and Justin had already halted Everhart. Everhart didn't dare to make a move at the airport, knowing it would alert the security personnel, making it impossible for him to escape.

Reese walked up, her eyes filled with a sharp and angry glare, like a knife slicing across Everhart's face.

Everhart lowered his eyes, not daring to face Reese.

"Everhart, when you were deceiving me, did you not think this day would come? You should know better than anyone what I'm capable of and what my personality is. You should also know the consequences of deceiving me!" Reese mocked.

At this moment, Reese was exuding a murderous aura, her eyes filled with a bloodthirsty red that sent chills down one's spine.

Even Justin was shocked by Reese's presence. Who could have imagined that a woman could possess such powerful energy? Such a presence and gaze could only come from someone who had experienced significant events or life-and-death situations.

It seemed Reese had been very gentle with them. The current was the real Reese, terrifying and formidable.

He had no doubt that Everhart was courting death. Otherwise, how could he dare provoke such a terrifying person?

Everhart could only offer a feeble explanation, "I didn't mean to deceive you. You know my situation. If I didn't have leverage, Nolan would kill me if he found me."

Reese sneered, her eyes filled with disdain. "I think you're out of your mind. You still don't understand why Nolan won't let you go. You have his secrets, and those secrets are like a bomb that could affect him at any moment. Do you think he would let you go?"

Everhart smiled bitterly. He seemed to have given up struggling. The recent period of fleeing had left him exhausted.

"You don't understand Nolan. Even if I didn't have his secrets, he wouldn't let me go. He wouldn't keep someone useless around. And I've been inside for so long, I know too much. It would still affect him. The same goes for you."

Nolan wouldn't let him go, and he certainly wouldn't let Reese. She knew more than he did. A smart person wouldn't keep someone around who could hinder them at any moment. He would eliminate them completely.

Reese wasn't surprised by this. Nolan was indeed like that.

However...

She gave a bold and arrogant smile. "Do you think, with my current abilities, Nolan can hurt me?"

If he wanted to touch her, he would have to use all his skills, and even then, it wouldn't be easy.

Everhart realized how helpless he was compared to Reese. He felt like an ant.
