Chapter 479: Give Vincent a surprise when the time comes.

Calvin blurted out, "Wow, found it already? Classic Reese."

Reese glanced at the information and smirked, "Just as I thought, it's him."

"Who?"

"Vincent." Calvin's eyes widened, "That jerk again? Wasn't he behind the Flynn Group mess last time?"

"He's gunning for the CEO spot now and will do anything to get it. Once my husband gets out, Vincent's plan will be toast."

When that happens, Vincent's only option will be to face the music and pay for his actions.

Vincent had been scheming within the Flynn family for ages, all for this moment.

Calvin nodded, "Now that we know, what's the plan, Reese?"

"He wants to mess with Aiden, right? Let's turn the tables."

Reese's eyes landed on the old man in the corner.

Calvin caught on and gave her a thumbs up. "You're a genius."

Using Vincent's own tricks against him, with a twist.

"You handle the rest. You know what to do."

"Got it."

Calvin and Reese had an unspoken understanding; sometimes a single look from Reese was all Calvin needed.

Reese squatted down, resting her hand on her knee, and spoke to the old man.

"We're giving you a chance at redemption. Help us, and I'll treat your wife's illness. But you'll need to cover the medical costs yourself, either from your son or daughter."

Reese wasn't running a charity, and she knew the old man's kids were loaded but stingy. Otherwise, the old man wouldn't be in this mess. No one wants to end up in prison at his age.

The old man was stunned, "You can treat it? But it's cancer!"

As a doctor, he knew how tough cancer was to treat. Even with money, success wasn't guaranteed, but it could buy his wife more time.

No matter how long, even if it meant spending a fortune for a bit more time, he was willing.

Calvin saw the old man's skeptical look and almost laughed.

"Old man, you probably don't know Reese's skills. If she says she can treat it, she can. But be ready for the cost. If you can't handle it, back out."

The old man didn't hesitate and nodded urgently, "I'm in. Whatever the cost, I'll find a way. Just give my wife a few more years."

Reese was willing to help because she saw the old man's deep love for his wife. Otherwise, she wouldn't have bothered.

In this cutthroat world, such genuine feelings were rare.

"Alright, but you have to agree to our terms and cooperate. As for the money, go to your son and daughter. If they refuse, take them to court. They won't dare ignore it."

In this situation, talking about family bonds was pointless. Since they didn't care, the priority was to protect his own interests.

Family bonds should be mutual. If both sides understood each other, it's great. But if it came to this, it's better to cut ties.

The old man had no other choice. If he didn't listen to Reese, he couldn't come up with the money, which meant his wife would have to wait to die.

He was at the end of his rope and had to ask them for one more favor.

"But my wife can't wait that long. Can you send her to our hospital and treat her first? They know me there, and I've built good relationships over the years."

Before Reese could speak, Calvin jumped in, "Old man, you're pushing it. Do you know how hard it is to get Reese to agree? And now you're making more demands."

Reese cut in, "I've already made the biggest concession. I'm not a saint. I'm willing to help because I'm a doctor and don't want to see someone die without trying. But you can't expect everything for free. If you agreed to help someone harm others, I'm sure you'll do your best for your wife's sake."

Reese didn't have time to stay longer; she had other things to do.

"Calvin, you handle this. Call me if anything comes up."

"Don't worry, go do your thing. I'll take care of this."

"Okay."

With that, Reese left. Just as she reached the door, the old man called out.

"Are you the doctor recognized by Thomas, the one who risked her life to bring back the cancer treatment drug to the medical research institute? The one who recently saved a patient who was almost dead?"

The old man suddenly remembered because this incident had spread throughout the hospital.

Now, everyone in the hospital revered Reese as a hero and a role model for all medical professionals.

He had been particularly impressed when he heard about it. Who else could achieve such feats, especially a woman?

Reese didn't answer, just said, "Focus on solving your wife's issue."

As she stepped out, she ran into Louis, who opened the car door.

"Reese, get in."

Reese got into the passenger seat and fastened her seatbelt. Louis turned his head and said, "Reese, I looked into Mr. Flynn's situation. The company was framed, and he has a clean business record with no scandals."

Reese's eyes gleamed with pride, "With his abilities, he doesn't need to resort to such petty tricks."

"True, but have you found out who's behind all this?"

Louis had heard about the Flynn Group incident and was worried that Reese might be overwhelmed, so he investigated without permission. He, Calvin, and Reese could all hack into other systems, so finding out these things wasn't difficult for them.

Reese replied, "It's Vincent."

"Vincent! How could it be him? Then the old man's situation..."

"Also him."

Louis looked concerned, "Reese, if that's the case, you must find a way to deal with Vincent. Keeping him around will be a huge risk."

"I'm considering that too, but we're already planning something. It should be soon. We'll give Vincent a surprise."
