Chapter 428 I'm Ready Anytime

Nathaniel really didn't know things had gotten so complicated. From Clara's description, this person named Reese sounded so formidable that it felt like she wasn't even human, more like a god.

He expressed his doubt. "Mom, is this woman really as formidable as you say?"

"If not, would your brother still be lying in bed, unable to move or speak? If she weren't capable, could she have found out about our four projects of our Hawthorne family overnight? She's already preparing. If we delay any longer, who knows if we'll lose all four projects," Clara explained.

Clara had previously heard from Alexander that if they secured all four projects, the profit from just one could be a hundred million dollars, some even several hundred million. There was no denying that Reese really knew how to make a selection, targeting the projects the Hawthorne Group valued most.

Nathaniel was genuinely curious about this so-called sister. He decided to arrange a meeting to see what kind of person she was.

He asked Clara, "Mom, do you have her contact information?"

Seeing Nathaniel's enthusiasm, Clara felt a bad premonition.

"What do you mean? Are you planning to meet her?" Clara asked.

"We need to meet her. Only by understanding our opponent can we formulate a strategy," Nathaniel said.

Given the conditions of Stephen and Alexander now, Clara was worried about Nathaniel.

"I advise you not to go. What if Reese sets a trap for you? I'm afraid..." Clara added.

"It won't happen. No matter how formidable she is, she still has to be reasonable, right?" Nathaniel said.

Clara suddenly felt she might have placed her hopes in the wrong place.

"Nathaniel, do you think that woman is easy to deal with?" Clara asked.

"No, I'm just curious. I want to see what kind of woman can make our Hawthorne family so frantic," Nathaniel explained.

Nathaniel hadn't seen anyone who could make Clara so angry in a long time.

Clara had no other options for now and could only let it be.

"Then find a time to meet her," Clara continued.

"Okay, got it," Nathaniel replied.

Reese still didn't know that Clara had sent someone to try to persuade her again.

After finishing her work, she pulled another all-nighter.

Malcolm saw her yawning. "Why don't you go to sleep first?"

"No, I have a meeting with Calvin to see if he knows anyone."

They weren't very skilled in this area, but she was interested.

After finishing the last bit of paperwork, Malcolm closed the files and rubbed his temples.

"I'll go with you," Malcolm said.

"No need, I can go by myself." Reese wanted Malcolm to rest after finishing his work.

But Malcolm insisted. "I won't be at ease if you go alone. You didn't sleep all night. What if something happens while you're driving?"

As he spoke, he was already heading to the bathroom. "Wait for me a few minutes, I'll quickly freshen up."

"I..." Before Reese could finish her sentence, Malcolm had already gone in. She shrugged helplessly and called Calvin.

Calvin was very surprised when he answered, "Reese, don't tell me you're already here."

"No, I just wanted to let you know that Malcolm is coming with me," Reese said.

"Really? Can we finally meet him in person this time?" Calvin added.

Calvin was so excited upon hearing that Malcolm was coming.

Reese almost had her eardrums shattered by his scream and frowned.

"Can you be a bit more reserved?" Reese warned.

Anyone who didn't know might think Calvin was going to see his favorite idol.

"How am I not reserved? This is your husband. We never thought you'd get married and live with someone for so long," Calvin explained.

Given Reese's personality, it was a miracle she hadn't torn the Flynn family house apart. They didn't expect anything else and wondered how much Malcolm had endured. Calvin felt he needed to comfort Malcolm.

'What if one day Malcolm couldn't stand Reese's temper and dump her?' Calvin thought.

Reese wanted to punch Calvin even more after hearing that. She gritted her teeth.

"Just wait, I'll teach you a lesson later," Reese said.

"I'm sorry," Calvin immediately begged for mercy.

"Too late." Reese hung up the phone.

She quickly changed her clothes. Just as she finished, Malcolm came out.

He tossed her the car keys. "Wait for me in the car."

"Okay." Reese thought about reviewing some documents in the car. She was the type who couldn't stop working once she started.

As she sat in the car and was about to open a file, her phone started vibrating. Seeing it was an unknown number, she hung up.

The caller kept calling several more times, and Reese's annoyance showed on her face. She finally blocked the number.

She thought that would be the end of it, but the calls kept coming from different numbers, completely angering her. She swiped to answer, her voice as cold as ice.

"You better have something important, or I'll make sure your phone never works again," Reese shouted.

"I didn't expect my sister to have such a bad temper." A gentle yet teasing voice came through the receiver, making Reese pause.

This wasn't Alexander who was probably still bedridden and unable to speak. It couldn't be Sebastian either. The Hawthorne family had three sons. She had already met Alexander and Sebastian, so this must be Nathaniel.

She grew colder. "What do you want?"

"Alexander is bedridden and my father is still in the hospital because of you. Isn't this joke going a bit too far?" Nathaniel asked.

Though spoken in a joking manner with a pleasant voice, Reese felt it was more of a warning. What you saw on the surface wasn't always real. People could disguise themselves, and she had been through that.

Even if it was Nathaniel, she didn't want to show any respect.

"Can the people of the Hawthorne family stop bothering me? Are you all that free?" Reese said.

"We don't really want to bother you, but I have never had a sister. Now that one has appeared, we want to meet you," Nathaniel replied.

Nathaniel was keeping his temper in check. If he wanted to meet Reese, he needed to be polite. Coming in hot temper would get him nowhere.

Reese wasn't moved by Nathaniel's seemingly friendly words.

"No meeting. But if you want to hold me accountable, I'm ready anytime," Reese added.
