Chapter 506 Everhart and Dahlia

Louis packed his bags and headed to Skyport City that afternoon. Reese reviewed Everhart's recent activities, and a thought struck her.

If he was going to betray her, she wouldn't hold back.

Around five, just as Reese was about to leave, Sophia called her.

Exhausted, Reese answered weakly, "What's up?"

"Reese, haven't you seen the news? You're famous!"

Reese frowned, confused. "Famous for what?"

"Didn't you and Mr. Flynn visit a coffee factory today? Something straight out of a TV drama happened!"

Sophia had just seen the news. The scene was so romantic that it made her yearn for love.

Reese had been so busy she hadn't noticed any of it.

Upon hearing Sophia, Reese wasn't too surprised and replied nonchalantly, "You mean the media took those boring pictures and blew them out of proportion?"

"Boring? You have no idea. The reporters captured such a beautiful moment. Tons of comments say it looked like a TV show, and people want more."

Sophia couldn't stop laughing at the comments. It was the only joy she'd had since Vincent had made her so angry.

Reese wasn't interested. "Let them. I have other things to do."

Sophia asked cautiously, "Reese, are you really that busy these days?"

"Yeah, I'll call you when I have time."

With that, Reese quickly hung up.

Sophia was left stunned. "What just happened?"

A colleague teased Sophia, "You were so excited to call her, but she barely responded."

Sophia didn't mind. She knew Reese better than anyone.

"She's really busy. She's the lady of the Flynn Group and has her own responsibilities. Unlike you guys, who just gossip."

"Hmph! What's there to be proud of? Reese won't always be your friend. You two are from different worlds, with different values and personalities."

Sophia snapped, "Stop talking nonsense. Reese isn't like that."

"Who knows? Nowadays, you think everyone is sincere, but maybe she's just treating you like a fool."

Sophia was furious, her face flushed with anger, and she suddenly lunged at the colleague, starting a fight.

Both of them got disciplined by the company.

Reese waited all day for news from Louis but heard nothing. When she returned home, Malcolm had just come back too.

He was sitting at the dining table, eating. Hearing the noise, he quickly walked over.

"Honey, are you done?"

"Almost." She had spent the whole day at the secret base tracking Everhart's movements but hadn't found much. She didn't even know how Everhart had managed to hide so well this time.

Malcolm led Reese to the dining table and instructed the maid, "Clora, make something for Reese to eat."

"Sure. Mrs. Flynn, what would you like?" Clora asked enthusiastically.

Reese didn't want anything complicated at this hour. "Spaghetti, please."

"Alright, just a moment."

Malcolm pushed his plate towards Reese. "Are you hungry? Want some of mine first?"

"No, I'm fine." Reese took a sip of water. She'd been so busy investigating Everhart that she hadn't even had time for a drink.

Malcolm handed her a file. "I think you might need this."

Reese took the file, a bit surprised. "You found out so quickly?"

"Not exactly. I ran into an old acquaintance who mentioned it."

Malcolm took a sip from the glass Reese had just used, his lips touching the spot where her lipstick had left a mark.

Reese was even more puzzled. "Was it your uncle?"

"He's been busy dealing with Nolan and doesn't have time for me."

Malcolm sometimes kept an eye on Giedon, knowing his uncle could be quite a handful.

When Reese opened the file, she saw a photo that made her eyes widen in surprise.

Holding the corner of the photo, she asked Malcolm, "How did Dahlia end up with Everhart? Doesn't she know who he is?"

"I don't know, but given how much Dahlia hates you, maybe she's trying to get something from Everhart to use against you."

"Everhart's actions are already a betrayal. He knows you won't let him off. He's isolated now and might team up with Dahlia."

Reese scoffed, "Those two together? They won't drag each other down?"

Malcolm nodded thoughtfully, his words full of admiration. "Your sharp wit is getting better. I no longer worry about you being taken advantage of. No one can outwit you."

"I agree." Reese always thought of herself as sharp-tongued. She wasn't afraid of verbal sparring, especially if the other person was strong-willed.

At that moment, Clora came out of the kitchen with the spaghetti.

"Mrs. Flynn, your spaghetti."

"Thank you, Clora." The smell of the spaghetti lifted Reese's spirits.

Clora had overheard their conversation in the kitchen and teased them a bit. "Mrs. Flynn only acts that way towards those who are not good at words. She's so nice to us."

Reese smiled. "Thanks for the compliment."

Knowing they had more to discuss, Clora excused herself, "I'll leave you two to talk. I'm heading upstairs."

"Alright, get some rest," Malcolm said.

After Clora went upstairs, Reese ate her spaghetti and asked Malcolm, "When did they meet? I had a tracker on Everhart's phone. If he came back to Atlanta, I would know."

Malcolm casually leaned on the table, raising an eyebrow. "Did you ever think that Dahlia might have gone to find Everhart?"
