Chapter 447 Who Gave You the Guts
The family members were stunned for a few seconds. "What evidence? Stop talking nonsense!"
Malcolm's eyes were cold, and his lips were tight, giving off a stifling and oppressive aura that made people not dare to provoke him easily.
He scoffed disdainfully. "If you were targeting someone else, I might let it slide. But if you target my wife, it's not that simple. The consequences are something you can't afford."
Justin rubbed his forehead helplessly. ' Malcolm starts overprotecting his wife again,' he thought.
Mr. Flynn's famous saying was, "If you dare to mess with my wife, you'll have to get past my corpse."
The family members were so intimidated by Malcolm's piercing gaze that they didn't dare to make a sound.
Four hours might not seem short, but the people outside hadn't dispersed. It seemed like everyone wanted to see if the woman inside, whom they had never seen before, could really bring the dying person back to life.
But there was still no news from inside, and the people outside started to gossip again. They were some of the hospital's patients, and people nowadays loved to crowd around when something was happening.
They had seen it all from the beginning when the person had a sudden attack and went into shock. The family members made a fuss for so long but didn't get the doctors to take emergency measures. Now the person was almost dead, and they had brought in a woman of unknown identity to treat them.
No one was optimistic about it.
"It's been four hours already. I don't think it's looking good," one said.
"Yeah. The person had a series of reactions after taking the medication and then went into shock. I don't think it will be easy to bring him back."
"Maybe the people inside are already... and the doctors are figuring out how to get rid of this."
"No way, in such a big hospital."
"The hospital might be big, but the key point is whether the woman inside is actually a doctor."
Almost everyone had lost hope in this situation, thinking that the patient inside was already dead.
Even though Thomas had so much faith in Reese, with so much time passing and no one coming out, he started to worry that something might have gone wrong.
He was getting on in years, and some things were hard to bear.
Thomas said to Malcolm, "Mr. Flynn, could Reese be..."
"No, I believe in her. If she says she can save that person, she definitely will." Malcolm's eyes were firm, and his tone carried no doubt, a certainty that even surprised Thomas and made him feel inadequate.
Thomas had known Reese for many years and always admired her. Even though she was young, her way of doing things and her calm demeanor were extraordinary. Her medical skills were even more remarkable.
Now, because of these people's doubts, he had lost some confidence in Reese. He really should be ashamed of himself.
Thomas felt reinvigorated by Malcolm's words, and his confidence returned.
He said firmly, "Yes, if Reese says she can do it, then it will definitely succeed."
Reese had astonishing patience and creativity, unlike anyone else. She thrived under pressure.
Ten minutes later, the operating room light went off, and the crowd in the hallway became restless, eager to rush in and see if the patient was still alive.
Malcolm's eyes were fixed ahead. He was waiting for Reese to come out.
A few nurses and doctors pushed the patient out, and Thomas hurried forward. "How is it? Did you save him?"
The doctors and nurses couldn't hide their joy. "Yes, we saved him. Mr. Robert, Dr. Brooks is incredible. We thought the patient had no vital signs, but she still managed to save him back," an assistant said.
"Right, you didn't see it. We were all so scared, sweating non-stop, but Dr. Brooks didn't sweat a drop. She was calm throughout, not showing any panic. Is she even human?" A male doctor said in shock, and everyone gave him strange looks, thinking his words sounded a bit insulting.
"Is she even human?"
A male doctor said in shock, and everyone gave him strange looks, thinking his words sounded a bit insulting.
He quickly added. "She's practically a god!"
Some people who had doubted Reese earlier now completely changed their attitude.
"My God, she really saved him back. That's amazing."
"He looked dead when he was brought in, and he was in shock for so long."
"I thought he was dead, too."
"This woman really has skills. She actually saved him back."
Reese took off her mask and walked up to Thomas, looking as calm as when she went in.
"Grandpa Robert, we've identified the cause of the patient's condition," Reese said.
Thomas was stunned. "Wasn't it our medication?"
"No, the patient has Alzheimer's disease, and our medication has adverse reactions to this condition. In severe cases, it can trigger other issues. Plus, with the family causing a fuss these past few days, the doctors couldn't properly examine the patient, leading to this dangerous situation," Reese explained.
Malcolm picked up on the issue from Reese's words. "So, if it weren't for the family's interference, the patient wouldn't have been in this danger."
Reese looked at Malcolm approvingly. Indeed, having a mutual understanding made a difference. With just a few words, Malcolm understood what she meant.
Malcolm had also begun to doubt whether the family really wanted to save their father. Normal people wouldn't act like this in such a situation, making a fuss without asking about their father's condition.
The family members immediately stood up to refute. "What nonsense are you talking about? We appreciate you saving my uncle, but you can't just say nonsenses. What do you mean? You should say if we hadn't brought him to your hospital, there wouldn't be any danger."
The other family members nodded vigorously. "Exactly, if we hadn't brought him to your hospital, none of these problems would have happened. Now that you've saved him, that's your job."
Reese's usually calm face turned serious, and she exuded an aura that brooked no disrespect.
She stepped forward, her sharp eyes fixed on the woman who had just spoken.
"You must be his family, right? If that's what you think, then when the patient was already having other issues, why was your first reaction not to save him but to make a fuss at the hospital and injure the doctors? Or is it that your goal was never to save him but to wait for him to die and then ask for compensation from the hospital?" Reese asked.
"You... you're slandering us. We have the right to sue you," the woman retorted.
Malcolm's eyes were cold. "Whether it's slander will soon become clear."
The family members looked at each other, their faces showing signs of guilt.
