Chapter 542 Why Are You Still Discriminating?

"Come in," Reese said.

Alyssa walked in with breakfast, grinning. "You two still sleeping? Eat up first."

Reese looked at Alyssa, curious. "Need something?"

Alyssa shook her head, smiling. "Nope, just bringing breakfast."

Reese found it odd. Alyssa never brought breakfast. What was up?

"Just thought it might be hard for Reese with her eyes hurt," Alyssa added, trying to show some concern.

Malcolm smiled and patted Alyssa's shoulder. "That's nice of you. Want anything? I'll get it for you."

Alyssa's eyes lit up. "Really? Anything?"

"Yeah, what do you want?"

Alyssa got excited. "There's this amazing limited edition car I've been dreaming about."

Malcolm's eye twitched. "That's a bit much." He expected her to ask for gadgets, not a car.

Alyssa didn't care. "You said it yourself, Malcolm."

Malcolm sighed but kept his promise. "Alright, I'll have Justin look into it. We'll try, but no guarantees."

Limited edition cars were tough to get. Time was ticking, and they might miss out.

"Have Justin check now. I won't sleep if it's reserved," Alyssa said, grabbing Malcolm's hand and pouting.

Malcolm couldn't refuse. "Alright, go get Justin."

Alyssa beamed. "I'll go now." She left to find Justin.

Malcolm looked at the breakfast Alyssa brought and turned to Reese. "Let's wash up first, then I'll feed you."

Reese felt a bit awkward. "I can do it myself."

"No worries, I got this," Malcolm said, taking charge. He guided Reese to the bathroom, squeezed toothpaste, washed her face, and applied skincare while she relaxed. His touch was soothing, almost putting her back to sleep.

She joked, "I feel like I'm benefiting from this misfortune."

"Enjoy the VIP treatment. Not everyone gets this," Malcolm teased.

"I can see that. Bet you've never done this for anyone."

Malcolm thought and said, "You're right."

Reese smiled. "I feel honored, Malcolm."

Malcolm chuckled. "I can take care of you like this every day if you want."

Reese teased, "Wouldn't that hurt your CEO status?"

"Why would it? A man's worth isn't just about work. Taking care of my wife doesn't make me any less of a man. If anything, those who don't care about their wives are the real losers," Malcolm shot back.

Reese laughed and gave him a thumbs up. "That's the spirit."

Malcolm finished getting Reese ready and picked out her outfit, showing his attention to detail.

After breakfast, Malcolm was about to call Justin to take Reese to the hospital. Everything was set up there, so once Reese arrived, the news would spread quickly.

Just as Reese was getting in the car, Alyssa rushed out. "Malcolm, wait, I want to go too."

"Why?" Malcolm asked, stopping her.

"I want to talk about the car," Alyssa said, grinning.

Malcolm asked Justin, "Did you find the car?"

"Yes, but it's already reserved," Justin replied.

Malcolm turned to Alyssa. "You heard that. It's reserved. Nothing I can do."

"Do you know who reserved it?" Alyssa asked.

"Who?"

Alyssa nodded towards Reese. "Reese's brother."

Malcolm frowned. "Sebastian."

"Yeah, he was quick," Alyssa said, disappointed.

Reese, already in the car, wasn't surprised. "Not surprising. He just lost a car. Now he sees a good one, he's probably eager to get it. Plus, car enthusiasts like him have their ways."

Alyssa looked disappointed. "So, no chance? Malcolm, I really like that car. You promised."

"It's not about my promise. Sebastian already reserved it. I can't take it from him," Malcolm said.

Alyssa turned to Reese. "Can you ask Sebastian? Maybe offer more money?"

Malcolm shook his head. "Alyssa, handle this yourself. Don't trouble Reese. Sebastian lost his car helping Reese before. Asking for another favor is too much."

Reese agreed. She didn't want to burden Sebastian more. She already felt indebted to him and didn't want to deepen her ties to the Hawthorne family.

Reese suggested, "Why not talk to Sebastian yourself? Maybe you can work something out."

Alyssa's eyes widened. "You want me to talk to Sebastian? He's into cars. He won't give it up."

"Just offer him a trade. You've got some killer rides in your garage. See if he likes any, or check out mine. Maybe you can swap," Reese said.

Reese's cars were well-maintained and modified, not inferior to new ones.

Alyssa was surprised. "Reese, you have a garage too?"

Malcolm chuckled. "If you can have a garage, why can't Reese?"

Malcolm found Alyssa's strong opinions amusing.
