Chapter 495 The Person You're Dating

Reese knew that once the incident happened, even though it was later confirmed that the Flynn Group had no issues, they still needed to release a statement to clear the Flynn Group's name. Otherwise, it would be much harder to find collaborators in the future.

“No worries, calling a ride is very convenient. I need to take Sophia home first.”

Justin gave a wry smile. “Mrs. Flynn, please don’t make it difficult for me. Do you think Mr. Flynn would let you call a ride home?”

Reese realized it made sense. Knowing Malcolm’s temperament, he would never let her call a ride home even if he had no time.

She chuckled, the gloom that had troubled her in the afternoon had completely dissipated by now.

“Alright, I understand.”

“If there’s nothing else, Mrs. Flynn, I’ll take my leave.”

“Okay.”

After Justin left, Reese finished all the food he brought because Malcolm had chosen all her favorite dishes. Malcolm had completely figured out her temperament and preferences.

After finished all the food, she called Sophia.

“Where are you?”

“Oh my god, I’ve been waiting for your call. I was about to remind you, but Mr. Flynn came over and specifically told me that you might be very busy today and not to disturb you.”

Reese snorted, “No wonder you didn’t send me any reminder texts or calls.”

“That’s because Mr. Flynn spoils you so much. You have no idea how envious the female colleagues at our company are of you. Luckily, you haven’t been to the office recently, or you might be killed by their jealous looks.”

“I’d like to, but I need the opportunity. Anyway, I’ve already experienced how tough they can be.”

Reese was never afraid of these people.

“Alright, I’ll head over first, and you come too. We should arrive around the same time.”

“Okay.”

After hanging up, Reese left the company. She initially planned to drive, but remembering that Malcolm said he would pick her up, she put the car keys back in her bag and took a cab to the bar.

As soon as she arrived at the entrance, she saw Sophia. It had been a while since Sophia had seen Reese, and she felt especially close to her now.

“Reese…”

Sophia opened her arms, wanting to give Reese a warm hug. Just as she was about to touch Reese, she suddenly remembered something and awkwardly retracted her hands with a smile.

“Sorry, I forgot you don’t really like being touched.”

She remembered once trying to hold Reese’s hand and being rejected. But that’s just how Reese was, always keeping people at a distance. Everyone has their own personality, and she didn’t mind.

Reese just faintly curled her lips without explaining anything.

“Let’s go in.”

There were quite a few people inside, but fortunately, the spot they chose wasn’t too noisy. Plus, Sophia had the foresight to call and reserve a table early.

The waiter had saved them a corner spot, which was inconspicuous and wouldn’t be disturbed.

After ordering drinks, Reese got straight to the point.

“When did your relationship start?”

Talking about this made Sophia a bit unsure about how to explain to Reese.

“It’s not really dating. Last time I went out with friends and found a guy’s phone. I contacted him, and he invited me to dinner to thank me. That’s how we got to know each other. But his identity is quite awkward, and you know him.”

Reese frowned, now very curious about who it could be that she knew.

How could she know such a bad guy who would disappear after having sex with a girl?

But Sophia didn’t know how to say it.

Reese, being impatient, directly urged her.

“Hurry up and tell me, or I’m leaving.”

She had a lot on her plate.

Afraid Reese would leave, Sophia quickly said, “Okay, I’ll tell you.”

Reese sat back down, all ears.

Sophia pouted and shyly told Reese, “It’s Vincent from the Flynn family.”

Even the usually calm Reese was shocked to hear this name. “What did you say?”

“You heard me right, it’s Vincent from the Flynn family. But I didn’t know it was him at first. It wasn’t until the company had an incident that I found out he was Vincent from the Flynn family.”

Sophia had her suspicions because Vincent had some similarities with Malcolm, but she hadn’t thought much of it. She blamed herself for not figuring it out sooner.

Reese didn’t blame Sophia. “It’s not your fault. Vincent and Malcolm have completely different styles and temperaments.”

Even outsiders wouldn’t necessarily think they were brothers.

Sophia was distressed. “Reese, I didn’t want to tell you this, but I had no one else to talk to. Keeping it to myself every day is really hard.”

“Tell me the whole story. From what I know about Vincent, he’s not interested in relationships.”

Vincent was ambitious, focusing all his energy on becoming the president of the Flynn Group. Unless a woman could help his career, he wouldn’t get involved. That’s why Reese was so shocked to learn about his relationship with Sophia.

Sophia took a sip of her drink, probably to muster some courage. “We were having dinner, and he got a call that upset him. He suddenly wanted to drink with me. Since you weren’t at the company, the colleagues who knew we were close started to ostracize me. Everyone avoided me like the plague, and I felt really bad.”

Sophia didn’t need to explain further; Reese could guess the rest. Like in those clichéd dramas, they probably got drunk, thought they found a soulmate, poured out their hearts, and ended up sleeping together. For Vincent, who only cared about his career, it was just a minor episode, not worth remembering. But for Sophia, who had never been in a relationship, it was a big deal and caused her much distress.

Reese nodded thoughtfully, analyzing the situation for Sophia. “If that’s the case, Vincent is indeed irresponsible. No matter what, he should at least give you an explanation.”

Sophia, head down, fiddled with her phone, feeling hurt. “I tried to contact him before, but I couldn’t find any way. It wasn’t until the company incident that I ran into him and talked to him. But he just gave me some money and told me to forget about that night.”

Reese frowned. “That’s really heartless.”

Even if Vincent didn’t want to take responsibility, he should at least been polite.

Not far away, a commotion broke out, accompanied by loud voices.

“I heard you accidentally slept with a girl you drank with recently? The waiter even asked me for your contact info. Is she trying to get money from you?”

“I gave her money, but she didn’t want it. What can I do?”

“Looks like she’s after you. I heard she looks very innocent, probably a virgin.”

“So what if she’s a virgin? Do you think I’ll make her my girlfriend just because we slept together? We barely knew each other, and she dared to drink with me. She’s not a good girl. Who knows if she had her virginity restored in a hospital.”

People around them laughed.

“You’re really something. If she heard this, she’d cry.”

“So what? It was consensual…”

“Ah… Reese!”

Before Vincent could finish, someone grabbed him and punched him hard hard.

Vincent instinctively turned his face away, frowning. Squinting, he saw who hit him.

“Reese…”
