Chapter 193 Wifey Kissed Me

Everly swiftly approached Malcolm when he returned. “You're back! Could you have a word with your wife? She's been quite disrespectful.”

“I spoiled her.” Malcolm not only refused to blame Reese, but he also defended her, almost pushing Everly to the brink of exasperation.

Everly huffed, “I can’t even bother with you two.”

She turned and strode toward the staircase.

Reese nodded slightly at Malcolm. “I’ll go pack. We’re leaving tomorrow.”

“I'll take you to the airport,” he offered.

Reese paused for a moment before nodding. "Alright, I'll count on you for tomorrow then."

"Taking my wife to the airport is a husband's duty," he replied with a willing smile.

Reese knew if she didn't let Malcolm take her, he might grow suspicious. The more natural she acted, the more he'd let his guard down.

The next day, she climbed into Malcolm's car for the airport trip. Indeed, she had to go, as the airport was quite a distance away. However, tucked inside her bag were two plane tickets— one for a vacation trip, and another for a business errand.

Upon arrival, she called her college buddy Sofia, who was supposedly joining her.

"Hey Sofia, have you arrived?"

"Yeah, I'm already here," Sofia responded.

"I'll meet you at the lounge then."

There was a genuine hint of excitement in Reese's voice.

Malcolm, overhearing, seemed surprised. "Are you going with her? Why not take me along?"

His words were tinged with jealousy.

On any other day, Reese might not even bother responding to such questions. After all, this man was a titan in business, far from the leisure-bound offspring of privilege.

But given how protective he’d been since they tied the knot, she felt she owed him a response.

There was another thing; she wasn't sure if she would return safely. To be frank, she was somewhat reluctant to leave.

She couldn’t say what exactly she was unwilling to leave behind. Lately, her emotions felt beyond her control, especially around Malcolm, leading her to do unexpected things.

With a rare softness in her gaze, imbued with a pleasant mood and a hint of cajoling, she said, "How about I take you next time?"

Malcolm's eyes, which usually held a cold intensity, seemed unusually tender as he looked at a different Reese today.

Squeezing her shoulder, he promised in a soothing tone, "Next time, we'll go together. I'll make sure it's a trip you'll never forget."

His words unexpectedly conjured images of their intimate moments in Reese's mind.

Her cheeks flushed.

When Malcolm saw her lost gaze and the playful smile at the corners of her mouth, he caressed her jaw with his warm fingertips, his voice deep and seductive, "Honey, are you already looking forward to our honeymoon?"

Snapping back to reality, Reese's typically impassive eyes now flickered with panic. Even her voice lacked its usual confidence.

She pushed Malcolm away abruptly, but his laugh was intoxicating, sending ripples through her heart.
She felt like she was going insane for the man in front of her. She never thought she'd be the type to yearn for intimacy, but why was it that every time she saw Malcolm's face, a face that could shake the very core of many, a cascade of such images flooded her mind?

Snapping back to reality, Reese hurriedly said to Malcolm, "Okay, I really have to go. Someone's waiting for me."

"Drive safe, and if you need anything, just call your husband. I'll be there in a heartbeat." Malcolm gently ruffled her hair, his eyes glowing with affection.

Some passersby at the airport caught this tender exchange and couldn't help but feel envious.

"Look at that guy! He’s so handsome. And the girl, she's stunning and classy. They're such a perfect match."

"I agree, and they kind of remind me of a celebrity couple. Look at his long legs, and her figure is just wow."

"I want to capture this moment."

"Don't! You haven't asked for their permission."

Without thinking much, a girl pulled out her cellphone and snapped a photo. It was too late for her friend to stop her.

After a quick glance at the picture, she exclaimed with excitement, "This looks so amazing! I should ask if they want a copy."

Although Reese was still conversing with Malcolm, she noticed everything—the girl's actions and the snapshot. She thought of intervening, but then reconsidered, not knowing if she'd ever come back. Letting the photo stay felt like leaving a piece of her with him.

The girl who took the photo approached them. She had a sweet smile, and her disposition seemed pleasant.

"I'm sorry for taking your picture without your consent, but you both embody my ideal leads for a story. The photo is beautiful. I mean, you both are just gorgeous. Can I send it to you?"

Reese glanced at the girl's phone and saw the photo: Malcolm's stately figure standing before her, his hand resting lightly on her head, his profile striking, the corners of his lips slightly curled, and his eyes radiating tenderness. A thought rose in Reese's heart, unbidden.

Her husband was incredibly handsome.

Malcolm, too, approved of the image with a satisfied grin.

"My wife's a beauty, a real-life fairy," he quipped.

Reese, who was usually expressionless, looked softer in the photo, a change from her usual aloof demeanor, and that alone touched his heart deeply.

As the girl was about to exchange details with Reese to send the photo, Reese grabbed Malcolm's phone instead.

"Send it to him."

He probably needed that photo more than she did.

The girl seemed puzzled by Reese's request, but she nodded, added Malcolm's contact, and sent him the picture.
Reese glanced at her wristwatch and said, "I've got to go."

As she turned to leave with her suitcase, Malcolm grasped her wrist and planted a quick kiss on her lips. Reese's eyes widened, and there was a hint of playful annoyance in her gaze.

"Malcolm, not again!"

"This is a farewell kiss. When you come back, I’m going to do something I’ve always wanted to do.”

Reese had a hunch it wasn’t going to be good.

Her phone rang again, reminding Reese that time was running short. Facing Malcolm, she did something that surprised even herself. She stepped closer, grabbed his tie, and pulled him into an unexpected kiss, making his eyes darken with intensity.
