Chapter 501 Dare to Covet My Wife
As soon as the game started, Reese began grinding, leveling up her character as usual. Meanwhile, her teammates on the top lane were already brawling and gave up first blood right away.
Alyssa freaked out and yelled at Milton beside her. "Milton, stop being a chicken! Go get them! What are you afraid of?"
Milton looked at her, all hurt. "Alyssa, I did, but they ambushed me."
Alfonso sneered, "So what if we ambushed you? It's not like you're any better. Who's to blame for that?"
"You..."
Alyssa was still fuming, teeth clenched, when she heard someone on Alfonso's team shout.
"Ah... someone ambushed me!"
She looked closer and saw it was Reese who had pulled off the ambush.
Alyssa threw her head back and laughed. "It's not only your team that can play dirty. We can do that too."
Mid-game, Reese went head-to-head with Alfonso. To be fair, Alfonso was decent, but Reese's moves were so spot-on that Alfonso's skills kept missing.
The result was clear: Reese took him down.
Alfonso slammed his leg in frustration, losing his cool.
"What the hell! Are you all dead? Someone go take her out for me!"
"Alfonso, we want to, but her moves are too slick. We couldn't even react. I didn't even finish casting my skills before she killed me."
Reese's reflexes, movements, and predictions were way ahead of Alfonso's. It was like she had already played the match in her head.
Her gameplay was smooth and flawless.
While heading back to base to heal, Malcolm brought his wife her favorite coffee.
"Honey, your coffee's ready. Give it a try."
Reese was about to grab it, but Malcolm stopped her.
"You keep playing. I'll feed you."
Reese didn't argue. Having someone feed her was even better, so she went with it.
So, Malcolm fed her coffee while Reese kept wrecking Alfonso, making him almost want to throw his phone, sweat dripping down his face.
His earlier taunts were now completely silent.
In contrast, Reese stayed chill, like she was just playing for fun.
Alfonso couldn't get it. He was being as serious and careful as possible, yet he still couldn't dodge Reese's skills. So, he decided to gang up on her.
He told his team to surround Reese and focus on taking her down.
At first, Alyssa didn't get it, but she quickly caught on and shouted at Alfonso.
"How can you play so dirty?"
Alfonso smugly raised an eyebrow. "So what? In gaming, it's all about using your brain. If you don't get tactics, why are you even playing?"
Alyssa felt like she was about to explode from anger. How could someone be like this?
The esports scene really had all kinds of people now.
Alyssa wished she could jump in herself, but she was worried she couldn't beat Alfonso. Mainly, she was afraid she'd get so mad she'd want to punch him.
But Reese was different. Reese's mindset was way better than most, and with her skills, she wasn't scared of Alfonso at all.
Still, Alyssa worried if they could win in this situation. No matter how good Reese was, she couldn't take on five people alone.
She noticed that even though their team was rushing to support Reese as fast as they could, they couldn't handle Alfonso's team's dirty tricks.
Alyssa got anxious. "Reese, let me take over."
"No need," Reese shot back without hesitation. She knew Alyssa was worried she'd lose her cool. Alfonso was just being a jerk.
But Reese wasn't afraid of jerks. In fact, it just made her more determined not to go easy on them.
"Don't worry about me, just push the tower," Reese told her teammates.
"But... you can't handle them all by yourself," one of them protested.
"You're our main force. If you get killed a few more times and can't develop, we're done for," another added.
Reese confidently replied, "I won't. Trust me."
Alfonso sneered, "At this point, you're still talking big. You won't even know how you died."
Reese glanced at the time and calmly said, "I have another appointment in ten minutes. Let's get this done. All of you, come at me together."
She calculated that in the late game, reviving wouldn't be quick, giving her teammates time to push the tower.
Alfonso scoffed, "So arrogant. Since you said so, we'll grant your wish."
All five of them went after Reese. Reese's hands moved smoothly on the controls, without pause, almost too fast for Alyssa's eyes to follow. Despite knowing Reese's skill, Alyssa was still surprised by her every move.
Malcolm, of course, was completely unfazed, looking like he had full confidence in his wife.
Alyssa realized she wasn't calm at all compared to these two. They were like gods, unflappable no matter what happened, something ordinary people couldn't achieve.
Even with Alfonso's tactics, they couldn't stop Reese. She seemed to be in a killing frenzy. Noticing Alfonso trying to escape, she used a skill to control him, jumped up, and slashed, taking away half his health bar.
Her attack power was off the charts, making Alyssa jump out of her chair in excitement.
"Oh my god, Reese, you're amazing!"
Ultimately, Alfonso's team was so intimidated by Reese that they didn't dare venture out of their base, repeatedly falling victim at their own doorstep.
Alyssa felt immensely satisfied, almost tempted to dance in front of Alfonso.
"See that? That's skill, real skill!"
After the game, Alfonso slammed his phone on the table.
"Hmph! What's there to be proud of?"
"Why shouldn't we be proud? Didn't you say you were from a pro team? Is this the level of a pro team?"
Alyssa remembered clearly how Alfonso had boasted about his team's peak performance, even claiming that not even the current champions could beat him.
Well, now it was awkward for him.
"But Alfonso, you don't need to feel too bad. Losing to Reese doesn't mean you have no dignity. Maybe you haven't seen her previous videos; she was a hotshot in her old team."
Alfonso didn't argue further. He had seen Reese's skills and knew they were extraordinary.
He wasn't a sore loser.
"Alright, I accept my loss."
"Since you accept your loss, shouldn't you honor your promise?"
Alyssa was now feeling triumphant, avenging her earlier humiliation.
The streamer beside Alfonso quickly voiced disagreement.
"Why should we? We paid our rent. Besides, that territory isn't yours. Now you want to kick us out just because you're good at the game? Afraid we'll steal your resources?"
"Yeah, it's not your territory. Why should we leave?"
With hands on her hips, Alyssa snorted. "You said it yourselves earlier. Keep your promises. Do I need to teach you that?"
"But we..."
"Fine, we'll leave. But I have one request. Can you fulfill it?"
Alfonso's sudden statement caught Alyssa off guard, making her look at him warily.
"What do you want?"
Alfonso found Alyssa's cautious look amusing.
"Don't worry, my target isn't you. I just want the contact information of the girl behind you. Maybe we can spar again in the future."
Alyssa's heart skipped a beat at Alfonso's words. She didn't reply immediately, instead casting a cautious glance at Malcolm.
