Chapter 496 A Severe Beating

"Vincent, you're a bastard! How can you say something like that? You're a doctor."

Reese wasn't one to get physical. She usually stayed out of these messes, having enough of her own problems to deal with.

But lately, Vincent had been crossing paths with Reese a lot, and he kept messing with people she cared about.

Not long ago, he set up Malcolm, framed the company, and got Malcolm detained for ages, causing a huge mess that still wasn't sorted out. Then Aiden got drugged, all thanks to Vincent.

And now, he was going after Sophia.

Vincent was drunk, his mind foggy. Getting kicked out by the Flynn family and losing his shares in the Flynn Group had hit him hard.

Now, having lost everything, he feared nothing, all thanks to Reese.

Vincent suddenly sneered, then shoved Reese away, his eyes bloodshot.

"So what, Reese? Haven't you caused me enough trouble? If it weren't for you, I'd be the chairman of the Flynn Group by now. Twice, you ruined my plans twice!"

Reese didn't back down; she lifted her chin, eyes full of confidence.

"So what? You brought this on yourself, using illegal means to harm your own brother and family. Did you think you'd win? This world is fair; it won't let someone as unscrupulous as you succeed."

Vincent clutched his stinging face but still retorted.

"So what? The fact is, if it weren't for your interference, your husband would probably be begging you for help now. Relying on a woman, what kind of man is that? I think he's just a..."

Before Vincent could finish his insult, Reese punched him in the face again, grabbed his shoulders and kneed him in the stomach, causing Vincent to curl up on the couch in pain like a shrimp.

Vincent's friends couldn't just stand by and watch him get beaten, so one of them shouted at Reese.

"Where did this crazy woman come from, daring to act out on my turf!"

Reese grabbed a bottle from the table and pointed it fiercely at the man who had just insulted her.

"Say that again!"

The man hesitated under Reese's sharp gaze, but his companions egged him on.

"Come on, what are you afraid of? Are you telling me you can't handle a woman? Didn't you say you’ve practiced before?"

"I... I was just casually practicing."

"Just casual practice is enough. You can't be afraid of a woman, can you?"

To save face, the man reluctantly confronted Reese.

"Who are you to stick your nose in other people's business here? Don't think I won't hit a woman. You‘d better watch yourself!"

He clenched his fist at Reese, trying to intimidate her.

But he underestimated Reese's abilities. As soon as he extended his fist, Reese's eyes turned cold. She grabbed his arm, locked his waist with her other hand, and performed an over-the-shoulder throw. There was a loud crash followed by a scream.

"Ah... my back..."

Vincent's friends, who had been shouting earlier, suddenly fell silent, or rather, they were stunned.

They had never seen such a fierce woman before; her movements were swift and precise.

Sophia, watching from the side, was dumbfounded.

Reese casually dusted off her hands and then nodded towards the two remaining men.

"Both of you, come at me."

The two men exchanged a glance and then bolted out the door.

Vincent lay on the couch as Reese walked up, grabbed his collar, and spoke with a menacing tone.

"Scum like you, who don't even know how to respect women, don't deserve to be doctors."

With that, Reese tossed Vincent aside like trash.

Reese walked over to Sophia, lightly placing a hand on her shoulder, her tone light.

"What are you waiting for? Let's go."

"But this..."

Sophia looked at the mess around them.

"Oh, I almost forgot."

Reese turned to find a waiter. "Call an ambulance for these two. One has a comminuted fracture and a broken spine, probably needs surgery. The other has superficial injuries, but his teeth might be broken."

The waiter was stunned. "This..."

The next second, Reese pulled out her phone and scanned the payment code on his neck.

"I've transferred the money. Go handle it."

Immediately, the waiter's phone chimed.

"Payment received: $10,000."

The amount shocked the waiter; he had never seen such a generous customer.

Reese pointed to the broken bottles on the floor, her expression unchanged.

"This is to compensate for your losses."

The waiter's eyes lit up, and he quickly responded. "Alright, have a good day."

Reese and Sophia walked out of the bar with their carefree demeanor, as if they had simply dropped by.

The other patrons were amazed.

"That woman is so cool, so carefree, she's unbeatable."

"Did you see that over-the-shoulder throw? Her moves were so sharp."

"I've rarely seen such a badass woman in a bar. That aura, I love it."

"I should have asked for her contact info earlier, even just to follow her on social media."

"You're dreaming. A woman like her probably doesn't post on social media. Exceptional people focus on their careers."

"True, but those two guys really got beaten badly."

"I heard what that guy said too. It was so offensive, insulting women. He deserved it."

"He looked all proper, but he's actually such a scumbag."

When the ambulance arrived, Vincent and his friend were taken to the hospital. The waiter relayed Reese's words verbatim to the nurse.

The doctor checked them briefly in the ambulance and exchanged a look with the nurse.

"Whoever did this knew exactly where to hit. The spine is fractured but not completely broken. Still, the patient will suffer."

"And they knew it was a spinal fracture. Clearly, they knew what they were doing. They might even be in our field."

The doctor looked at Vincent, who was bruised and battered. "Do you want us to call the police? Or notify your family?"

Vincent waved his hand, mumbling, "No need."

Even if they were notified, Aiden wouldn't come.
