Chapter 551 Reese Female War Goddess
Everly seethed with resentment as she blamed Reese for every twist of fate. If only Reese had never entered the Flynn family, or if she had left, even if Malcolm didn't have any feelings for her, he would have remained solitary. Everly believed that given time and his heart unoccupied, she could eventually win his affection.
Her admiration for Malcolm had spanned years, with his every gesture and uttered word stirring her emotions. Witnessing his tenderness towards Reese left her heart in tatters each time. The depth of her loathing towards Reese remained hidden from all, a searing flame fueled by unrequited love.
As Malcolm saw Everly and found no apparent flaws in her demeanor, he couldn't make sense of the situation at hand and reluctantly decided to let her go for the time being."Everly, you'd better move out in the next couple of days. The place you're living in now also belongs to the Flynn family, so you no longer have the right to stay there," Malcolm said indifferently.
Everly was shocked. Was Malcolm really asking her to leave? The realization that he was now unwilling to allow her to remain in her own dwelling shook her to the core. How could he treat her like this?
Despite her fervent pleas and appeals to Malcolm, he remained resolute in his decision. Unbeknownst to her, Vincent had already set his plans in motion against Reese, a dangerous game that was unfolding behind the scenes. Vincent had someone pretend to be a doctor, intending to inject Reese with anesthesia and then a drug that would kill her instantly. Even though Reese was a doctor, she couldn't possibly know what the drug was just by looking at it. Even if this plan failed, hehad a backup.
The doctor walked up to Reese and said, "This medicine will make you feel a bit more comfortable, at least it won't be so painful."
Unbeknownst to Vincent, Reese had no need for these drugs, and the information he had gathered was far from accurate. What Vincent had gleaned and heard was carefully orchestrated by Reese and Malcolm.
As the doctor spoke, he took out a syringe and prepared to inject it into Reese's arm. Reese held his hand. "May I ask, what's the name of this drug?" she inquired.
Taken aback by Reese's sudden question about the drug's name, the man hesitated, unable to provide an immediate answer.
Reese's smirk grew wider as he taunted, "Let me enlighten you: it's anesthesia. Need a refresher on its purpose?"
The exchange left the man feeling exposed in the unfolding power play. As he tried to forcefully inject the drug into Reese's body, Reese swiftly grabbed the syringe and injected it into the man's wrist.
The man was stunned momentarily, feeling a sharp pain in his arm. By the time he reacted, it was too late.
Reese sneered disdainfully, "With tricks like these, you think you can outsmart me? Even if I can't see, I can still tell."
Vincent seemed to be out of options, sending such useless people to deal with her. How could they possibly succeed?
Due to the potent dose of anesthesia, the man slumped to the floor, unconscious. But Vincent wouldn't rely on just one method. Soon after this person failed, others jumped in through the window. Four or five people drew guns from their waists and aimed them at Reese.
The leader snorted coldly, "Even though you can tell it's anesthesia, so what? No matter how good your skills are, can you be faster than our guns?"
The nurse at the door screamed in terror, "Ah... guns, they have guns!"
The hospital quickly fell into panic. Summoning security guards proved fruitless in the face of armed assailants. Their had to call the police, but the chilling reality remained—the intruders were determined to eliminate Reese. Surviving seemed improbable; they had entered that hospital with a clear intent to meet their demise. People outside didn't dare to come closer, fearing they'd be shot dead.
Seated on the bed, Reese exuded an aura of icy confidence. Locking eyes with the armed individuals before her, a sly grin crept across her face. "Are you sure you can kill me?"
The leader laughed coldly, "Are you kidding? So many guns here, enough to riddle your body with bullets, and yet you dare to pose such a question? Do you honestly believe your skills are quicker than our guns?"
Reese's eyes narrowed, an she exuded a chilling aura. "Then let's try..."
The men pulled the triggers, firing at Reese, really intending to riddle her with bullets.
Reese snorted disdainfully. "Despicable tactics!"
At the critical moment, she grabbed the blanket and spun it, disarming all the men. The bullets went through the blanket and hit the wall, causing the people outside to scream in terror.
"Ah... murder!"
"Police, call the police!"
"Will that woman inside die?"
"Who cares, just run for your life!"
No one cared about the woman inside anymore.
The men didn't expect Reese to be so skilled. They stared blankly at their empty hands. With lightning-fast precision, Reese retrieved two concealed guns from beneath the blanket and trained them on the men. Her speed was astonishing.
As one of them attempted to flee, Reese's gaze turned frigid. A single gunshot pierced the silence, the impact reverberating through the room. The man's resolve crumbled as fear gripped his very core, rendering his legs useless. The men, initially braced for death, now found themselves drenched in sweat from sheer terror. Their eyes met in a silent exchange, their voices quivering with fear.
"What do we do?"
"The boss didn't inform that the target would be this tough."
"Didn't they say it was a woman?"
"It is a woman."
"Look at her. Does she seem like a woman to you? She's a damn warrior."
