Chapter 376 Honey, Are You Going?
Alyssa was definitely going to help Reese, and she immediately retorted to Everly.
"Everly, have you been too bored recently? You even want to meddle in other people's marriage lives. You worry about whether Malcolm is going or not. Even if he goes, he won't take you."
Everly also tilted her head up indifferently. "Alyssa, you should take care of yourself. You're in your twenties, always studying those esports games. I don't believe you can make it as a pro. The dignified Alyssa of the Flynn family, always showing off on the internet. Do you think you're adding prestige to the Flynn family?"
At this point, Grandpa Flynn suddenly spoke up.
"Alyssa, Everly is right. You're an adult now, with so many responsibilities in the company. Can't you find interest in any of them? You're always immersed in the online world. Some people want to introduce you to a potential suitor, but you refuse. Who would want the Flynn family's Alyssa, who plays games all day?"
Upon hearing this, Alyssa got a headache.
"Grandpa Flynn, I'm not interested in dating right now. If you're really bored, why don't you find someone for Everly so she won't keep causing trouble for Malcolm and Reese."
"Alyssa, speak clearly. When did I ever try to cause problems for them?" Everly asked.
Seeing them about to argue again, Grandpa Flynn intervened with a troubled and helpless expression. "Alright, both of you, stop talking. You're giving me a headache. Let me make a decision. Malcolm is definitely going. As for Reese, it's up to the two of you to decide."
After that, Grandpa Flynn also felt tired. Supported by Jason, he got up and went back to his room to rest.
Jason quickly brought out some medicine for Grandpa Flynn to take.
"Mr. Flynn, are you okay?"
Grandpa Flynn sat down, taking a deep breath. "My health has been deteriorating recently."
Knowing Reese's medical skills, Jason suggested. "Why don't you let Mrs. Flynn take a look at you? She managed to heal Malcolm's leg. This should be a piece of cake for her to treat you."
Grandpa Flynn waved his hand. "No need. I know my body best. After consulting many hospitals, they all suggest conservative treatment. Can Reese really cure my illness with her limited abilities?"
She was not a god.
"But we should at least give it a try," Jason said.
"Jason, you've been with the Flynn family for many years. Over these years, you've been diligent and dedicated."
When Grandpa Flynn said this, there was a lingering meaning in his words.
For a moment, Jason didn't know what Aiden wanted to say, so he could only nod in agreement. "I've been with the Flynn family for a long time. Thanks to your care over the years."
"Maybe you should focus on helping Malcolm manage the Flynn family well in the future. As for your past, I will let it go. I believe you won't do anything harmful to the Flynn family. Your life hasn't been easy. At least the Flynn family can provide you with a safe haven, right?"
Grandpa Flynn's words carried a deep implication, causing Jason to feel a sudden shift in his heart.
His expression changed slightly. Although he knew Grandpa Flynn must have sensed something, Jason couldn't confess at this moment. Would it be like digging his own grave?
In the end, Jason could only respond evasively. "I've planned to live a stable life in the Flynn family. I don't want to betray your trust, Mr. Flynn."
Grandpa Flynn didn't press further. "As long as you understand it, some things from the past are best left behind. However, when it comes to the Flynn family, there are certain things I must make clear to you."
Jason had been here for so many years. Perhaps initially, he harbored ulterior motives, but now his heart was settling. He did not want to revisit those previous days.
Sometimes, his dreams would be haunted by those past times, which, just like a precipice, he would spare no effort to avoid confronting in his lifetime.
"Rest assured, Mr. Flynn. In life, I belong to the Flynn family, and even in death, I will remain a ghost of the Flynn family. I have no other intentions," he affirmed.
Grandpa Flynn had observed Jason for many years, a period in which Jason committed no detrimental actions toward the Flynn family. This prompted Aiden's decision to issue a timely reminder to Jason today.
"It is the best scenario."
Jason investigated Reese as Grandpa Flynn's requested, and now there were some findings.
"Mr. Flynn, there have been developments in the investigation you commissioned. Shall I report them to you now?"
"Proceed."
"Mrs. Flynn has been frequently appearing near Nolan recently. I queried some of his subordinates, and it seems that Mrs. Flynn was previously in Nolan's employ."
Grandpa Flynn's brows furrowed tightly, his complexion shifting abruptly.
"You mean the little girl has a connection to the organization? If that's the case, I will need to be on guard."
Jason confessed slightly awkwardly. "Actually, Malcolm's status is no better than Mrs. Flynn's. Giedon has recently started contacting Malcolm again. Previously, Malcolm even facilitated a project acquisition for Giedon, but it was hindered midway by Mrs. Flynn."
The more Grandpa Flynn heard, the angrier he became, his hand striking the table.
"What is going on with them? On the surface, they are a loving couple, but behind closed doors, they are sabotaging others' projects or covertly making unknown moves. Does Reese know the relationship between Malcolm and Giedon?"
"I haven't discovered that, but even if Malcolm keeps it hidden, it won't be long before she will naturally discover it."
The more Grandpa Flynn thought about it, the more amusing it seemed to him. "Both of them are good people. They're each wary of each other, turning their marriage into a game of chess. Let us wait and see who will become a victor."
Grandpa Flynn's words took Jason aback.
"Do you mean that you won't intervene in their affairs?"
"Do you think, given their personalities, that I am able to do anything about it?"
Both had their thoughts and mentalities beyond the influence of outside parties. They were adults, and even if Aiden wanted to intervene, they would not be willing to listen.
Jason chuckled. "Seems reasonable."
"I don't want to interfere in affairs anymore."
Recently, Aiden had observed Reese and found her to indeed be stable.
Aiden did not harbor much suspicion. However, the main problem now was Reese's puzzling identity. She had already revealed so much, and now she was seemingly involved with the organization. Who knew what other surprises awaited them in the future?
Aiden ended up instructing Jason again. "Monitor the situation with Reese carefully. I always feel unsettled."
"Got it."
After Grandpa Flynn left, Reese and Malcolm returned to their room.
Now, with only the two of them there, they could speak openly.
"The Hawthorne family is obviously targeting you. Most times, they would not invite the Flynn family for anything. Since we never collaborated and had no business contacts, our interests did not overlap in the business world. Suddenly inviting the Flynn family this time seems like an indirect way to invite you as well," Malcolm candidly told her.
Reese was aware of it. "Stephen disregarded my warnings. He wants me to return to the Hawthorne family, to make me their puppet, controllable at their whim. Incredulous!"
"And will you go?"
