Chapter 445 Everyone Was Stunned

Upon hearing this, the man raised his voice even louder, "When have we ever hidden anything from you? Stop talking nonsense."

A woman nearby also shouted shrilly, "Did you all see that? This hospital is heartless. It’s clearly their own problem, and now they’re trying to blame us."

The man immediately got more fired up, burning with anger. "If your hospital wants to shirk responsibility, we can all go down together!"

As he spoke, he clenched his fist, aiming it at Reese, causing everyone to scream in fright. "He's going to hit someone!"

Reese stood still without any attempt to dodge, her eyes sharp. At this moment, Reese exuded an extraordinary calmness, capable of facing the man directly.

Just as the man's fist was only millimeters away from Reese's face, everyone braced for a dramatic scene. Instead of chaos, a large hand suddenly intervened, firmly gripping the man's wrist.

The man couldn't harm Reese at all. Malcolm's eyes revealed a murderous intent and his lips curled with a bloodthirsty coldness. The man looked up at him, terrified, his face turning pale. Before he could recover, there was a cracking sound as his bone broke.

The man let out a painful scream.

"Honey... let go of my husband! This hospital is lawless!" The woman, who had been shouting non-stop, was now terrified, frantically pulling at her husband.

The man turned ashen, sweat dripping from his forehead like raindrops. "It hurts... it hurts so much."

Malcolm showed no mercy, his handsome face exuding a chilling aura, his eyes sharp as blades. "Apologize."

The man didn't want to apologize, but he had no choice. He felt like Malcolm was about to break his wrist, so he was forced to apologize to Reese. "I'm... I'm sorry. It's all my fault.; I shouldn't have tried to hit you."

Reese remained calm from beginning to end, a composure not everyone possessed. Thomas, witnessing the scene, especially Reese's calmness, couldn't help but admire her. She truly was exceptional.

Nowadays, it was rare for women to remain composed in such situations.

Reese directly addressed the man, "Let me save your father first. We can talk about everything else later, unless you want him to die right now."

Only by saving the person first could they continue investigating other matters. Otherwise, if the person died, the hospital would have a hard time explaining.

The man had no other option but to nod hastily, fearing Malcolm might really break his hand. "Okay, just... just have him let go of me first!"

Reese turned to Malcolm and said, "Honey, let him go."

Malcolm released the man, and Reese gave Malcolm a satisfied wink. The two shared a silent understanding.

Reese's previously calm expression turned serious.

"Get the patient to the operating room immediately for emergency treatment," Reese said.

The nurse nearby was about to carry the patient in when the woman started causing trouble.

"You can't just mess with my dad. You've already treated him like this. If you continue to mess around and he dies, who will be responsible? And who is this woman? Does she have a physician's license? How do I know she can really save him?" she questioned.

Thomas stepped forward. "I am the director of this hospital, and I can vouch for her. She is the most capable doctor we have. She doesn't work here because she doesn't want to, not because she isn't qualified. If she were willing, we would do anything to have her."

The woman, hearing this, looked Reese up and down but still didn't believe it. "This hospital hosts a bunch of vampires trying to shirk responsibility. You found a random woman to impersonate a doctor. My dad might be carried in by you and come out as a corpse!"

Her other relatives nodded in agreement. "Exactly, you've already treated him like this, and now you want to kill him completely?"

Seeing the situation escalate, Thomas didn't want to involve Reese any further and said to her. "Reese, maybe you should leave first. We'll discuss how to handle this."

"It's okay. Since I'm here, I'll see it through to the end," Reese replied.

Otherwise, it would be a waste of her risking her life to deliver the medicine to the medical school.

Reese's eyes were firm, confident, and steady as she told the woman, "I can guarantee I'll save your father. If I can't, you can call the police and accuse me of murder!"

"Reese!" The surrounding doctors and Thomas couldn't help but exclaim.

Reese might face serious consequences. If she couldn't save the person, what then? She would have to take responsibility.

Everyone advised Reese not to take the risk because no one knew the patient's exact condition. He was already in shock, and the delay caused by the family's refusal to allow treatment could lead to further complications. This was a matter of life and death.

The hospital's delay in providing an explanation proved everything. Yet, someone was willing to take responsibility, ignoring the consequences.

Thomas could only ask Malcolm to persuade Reese. "Mr. Flynn, please talk to Reese. Although I invited her to solve this issue, I don't want her to face serious consequences."

Malcolm responded calmly, then asked him. "Grandpa Robert, do you trust Reese?"

Thomas was momentarily confused by Malcolm's question but replied honestly, "I do. She's one of the few medical geniuses in the field."

Unfortunately, Reese had other ambitions and didn't plan to stay in the medical field. But even so, her skills were unparalleled.

Malcolm's attitude was firm. "That's right. Since we trust Reese, let's respect her decision. I'll take responsibility for any consequences."

Thomas was stunned. He didn't expect Malcolm to take such a big risk for Reese. Malcolm, already in a high position and Aiden's favored successor, was willing to vouch for Reese in front of everyone. This showed how reliable he was.

Reese had married the right person.

Reese heard Malcolm's words, and a warm feeling spread through her heart, her eyes inexplicably moist.

No one had ever risked everything for her. Reese wasn't even sure if she could save the person, yet Malcolm was willing to take such a big risk for her.

Reese curved her lips, the cold sharpness in her eyes gradually fading. "Honey, I love you."

"Reese, I love you too," Malcolm replied.

None of the nurses and doctors in the hallway expected to witness such a sweet moment in such a dire situation.

Everyone was stunned.
