Chapter 572 The Large Team is Ready
Malcolm had definitely thought about all this, but right now, their main gig was to track down Nolan's hideout. As long as that dude was on the loose, he was a major pain in their necks.
Once they took care of that big problem, things would get a whole lot easier.
Malcolm croaked, "Babe, you can't stress over this stuff right now. You gotta stay positive. Even if you know Nolan's setting us up, what choice do we have but to dive in?"
Reese rubbed her temples, realizing Malcolm was spot on. Even if they knew it was a trap, they had no choice but to walk right into it.
Missing this shot would make finding Nolan later a total nightmare.
After thinking it over, Reese decided to take the plunge. "Alright, let's roll with this plan, but we gotta make sure everyone stays safe."
She didn't want anyone getting hurt.
Malcolm piped up, "I got it. Leave it to me. You don't need to carry all this stress."
He just wanted Reese to chill at home and wait for the good news, instead of diving into danger with him.
Seeing how worn out Reese looked lately, she looked qyite haggard.
Reese closed her eyes and leaned against the armrest, thinking about how to pull off tomorrow's plan without anyone getting hurt.
She was super worried because she knew exactly what kind of snake Nolan was. If he didn't have some tricks up his sleeve, he wouldn't have held a top spot in the organization for so long.
Everything had its reasons.
Malcolm gently squeezed her shoulder. "Alright, let me take you back to the room and help you unwind."
With that, Malcolm lazily scooped Reese up and headed upstairs.
This scene was caught by the maid, Zoey. Even though Reese was usually all composed, Zoey's presense made her feel a bit embarrassed.
Reese kept patting Malcolm's shoulder, burying her head in his chest, her cheeks turning a bit red.
Malcolm rarely saw Reese being shy. He remembered when she first joined the Flynn family, she was like a porcupine, ready to prick anyone who messed with her.
Even when they got close, she never backed down and always wanted to compete with him.
Seeing her shy now, Malcolm felt a rush of joy.
He never thought his wife had this side to her.
Zoey couldn't help but chuckle. "Mrs. Flynn, no need to be shy. We've seen it all at our age. Besides, seeing Mr. Flynn so happy makes us happy too. Go rest. It's getting late."
Malcolm smiled and agreed easily. "Zoey, you should hit the sack early, too."
Zoey responded with a grin, "Alright, thanks for the concern, Mr. Flynn."
After Zoey left, Malcolm gently patted Reese's back, burying his head in her neck, his warm breath on her smooth skin, his voice deep. "Babe, you can come out now. Zoey's gone."
Reese finally lifted her head. "Then put me down."
Malcolm said gently, "We're almost there. You've been busting your butt these past few days. I need to reward you."
Reese pouted. "I don't know if it's a reward for you or for me."
Malcolm opened the door. "As long as we both get it."
These things were a win-win.
The room was filled with an intimate vibe.
Today, Reese wasn't her usual self, insisting on being on top. She felt weird being in a passive position.
She liked to be in control.
But he was a man, after all. Always being bossed around by a woman got on his nerves a bit. Every time they ended up wiped out but loving it.
They were like perfectly matched sparring partners, savoring every moment together.
From the moment he met Reese, he knew she was a gift from above.
The next day, Malcolm purposely didn't wake Reese in order to let her regain her energy through sleep. But Reese couldn't sleep; her mind had been on overdrive these past few days.
If it were just her, she wouldn't sweat it. Her life was always in her own hands. But when it came to others' lives, she could only do her best to protect them without any guarantees.
She had lost too many comrades during missions, where she could only watch them die helplessly, unable to do anything.
That sense of helplessness and powerlessness was the least feelings she wanted to suffer again.
When Reese came downstairs, she overheard Malcolm talking to the maid. "Make something nutritious for Reese, something she likes."
The maid found it amusing but also touching to see Malcolm directing the kitchen so early in the morning.
Malcolm had never been so considerate to anyone before. They had been with the Flynn family for a long time and had never seen Malcolm so attentive to anyone.
The maids couldn't help but laugh. "Mr. Flynn, Mrs. Flynn is lucky to have you. Where can you find such a considerate man?"
Malcolm didn't think so. "Nonsense, I'm the lucky one to have Reese."
Where else could he find such a beautiful and intelligent wife? Nowhere.
Who would dare say his wife wasn't a treasure?
Hearing this, Reese felt warmth in her heart. The gloom she had felt was eased by Malcolm's words.
She was no longer the old Reese, alone and relying only on herself. Now she had Malcolm to lean on and Malcolm was someone she could rely on.
After giving his instructions, Malcolm looked up and saw Reese standing at the top of the stairs. "Babe, why are you up? Why not sleep a bit more?"
Reese came to her senses, walked downstairs, pulled out a chair, and sat down, taking a sip of water. Though deeply moved, she showed no sign of it, remaining calm. "I don't want to sleep. There's work to do today."
At that moment, Justin came in from outside. "Mr. Flynn, I have something to report."
Malcolm motioned him to continue and said, "It's okay. Go ahead."
Justin reported, "Sofia has already left. We can track her location, but if she meets Nolan, we don't know if the tracker will be discovered. If Nolan is highly alert, it could be dangerous."
Hearing this, Malcolm said, "No matter. We aim to find Nolan. The problem is Nolan might not easily reveal his location to Sofia. He fears being tracked by us, too."
So, this process would inevitably be full of twists and turns.
"I get it, but we still have to do it. No matter how much Nolan struggles, we must find him." This time, Malcolm was determined.
Reese thought for a moment and said to Justin, "Send someone to protect Sofia secretly. If anything happens when she gets close to Nolan, don't worry about anything else. Our goal is to capture him."
"Understood." Justin nodded and went to carry out the orders.
At that moment, Reese received a call.
After some voices came through, Malcom turned to Reese and asked, "Reese, my team is ready. When can we move out?"
