Chapter 52 Reese Doesn't Brag

"You don't even know who I am, so how can you be sure if I have etiquette or not? As soon as you entered, you began scolding me. Is that the manners a host should have towards guests?"

If it weren't for Grandpa Robert's dignity, she would have turned this person into mincemeat already.

Robert stood on the side, sweating nervously for his grandson. He was afraid things would escalate and couldn't reprimand his own grandson quickly enough.

"Remington, how can you speak like this? Apologize to Reese right away!"

Remington widened his eyes, looking at Robert in astonishment, "Grandpa, am I hearing correctly? Are you actually telling me to apologize to this brat? Why should I? Even if the dean of the medical school came, they would show proper respect to you."

Reese sneered, "Do you know that at the medical school, Grandpa Robert's position is lower than mine?"

"What are you blabbering about? How can your position be higher than my grandpa's? Do you know how powerful my grandpa is? It seems I underestimated your lack of manners."

Remington found it hard to believe.

Robert interjected sheepishly, "Reese isn't boasting. Her position is indeed higher than mine. If it weren't for her respect towards me, I should be the one personally receiving her."

This couldn't be possible!

His grandpa had always been a legendary figure. Grandfather had retired, but many medical professionals came to visit him. Even a few words with him were a rare opportunity for those people.

Remington looked blankly at Robert and asked, "Grandfather, is what she said true? Is your position at the medical school lower than hers?"

Robert nodded, "Yes, I wouldn't lie to you about something like this. Well, since Reese is busy, you can take her home."

"I... I take her home?"

Was grandfather joking with him? He had just been scolded by that girl, and now grandfather wanted him to take her home.

"Yes, you take her home. Otherwise, do you want me to go? Stop talking nonsense. If you don't take Reese home, forget about your monthly allowance next month. Hurry up," Robert said, while pushing the two of them towards the exit, speaking to Reese politely at the same time.

"Reese, my grandson is straightforward, but he means no harm. Don't mind him."

Reese smiled lightly, "Don't worry, grandfather, I won't argue with a child."

"Who do you think is the child? You seem to be around the same age as me, thinking you're so mature."

Remington hurriedly argued with her, not wanting to be left behind.

Reese didn't even bother to look at him, clearly not interested in engaging with him.

After getting into the passenger seat, she gave him the address, and Remington drove in that direction.

"You work at the Flynn Group? Let me tell you, I have an uncle who is a supervisor there. How about I introduce you to each other? Maybe he can help you get a promotion."

When Remington heard that Reese worked at the Flynn Group, his eyebrows raised with pride.

Reese, who rarely smiled, lazily glanced at him and casually said, "No thanks. My husband is the CEO of the Flynn Group."

Why would she need his uncle's help for a promotion? She could easily make his uncle lose his job with just a word.

Remington was dumbfounded, "Your... Your husband is Malcolm?"

What explosive news! How many identities does this girl have? One moment, she's a powerful figure even stronger than his grandfather, and now she's married to Malcolm, who holds Atlanta's economic lifeline. Just with a word from him, the whole world would change.

"We're here; just park here," Reese didn't answer his question. She didn't want to say much to someone irrelevant.

"Let's talk a bit more. What else haven't you told us? Wait a moment," Remington, filled with curiosity, hastily got out of the car, grabbing her wrist.

Reese turned her head, eyebrows furrowed tightly, but her eyes showed a fierce determination that startled Remington, causing him to involuntarily release her hand.

"What... What's with that look in your eyes?"

She was a twenty-year-old girl, how could she have such a daunting gaze, as if she were a demon capable of taking his life at any moment.

Before Reese could even speak, a car sped past them. Reese quickly grabbed Remington's arm and pulled him to the side. A gust of wind whistled past their ears, leaving Remington's face almost pale with fear.

He glanced at Reese, who had a calm expression on her face. Her eyebrows slightly furrowed, and her eyes were as calm as a still pond, without a ripple in sight.

Despite the danger just now, she was able to react immediately and pull him away.

Trembling, Remington asked her, "Aren't you scared?"

"Fear is useless. In this world, fear is the most useless thing. Instead of being afraid, it's better to think about how to avoid danger. You should go back," she replied.

With that said, she turned around and started walking towards the company gate.

The car that had just passed by stopped steadily by their side.

The commotion behind them made Reese pause and turn around. Her cold eyes narrowed slightly. If she wasn't mistaken, this car was the newest model. Even just the seats inside the car were expensive, not to mention its exterior. Without exaggeration, anyone driving this car would have an extraordinary identity.

There are only two of these cars in the world, and one of them was in her possession. The other one was in Malcolm's hands.

Justin got out of the car and helped Malcolm into a wheelchair. With a refined appearance, he casually rested his hand on the armrest. His gaze seemed to linger for half a minute before his thin lips opened, and his deep voice sounded, engulfing the surroundings.

"Who are you?"

Remington was momentarily overwhelmed by the man's presence before he snapped out of it.

"I... What does it matter who I am to you? And who are you?"

Why did this person ask who he was right after getting out of the car?

Malcolm's eyes were deep, like a vast sea, cold and merciless.

"You don't need to know who I am."

His voice sounded cold and detached, with a hint of displeasure.

Both these men completely shattered his confidence. When had he ever been in such a sorry state? No, he had to pull himself together. He might be a cripple, but his height was still an advantage.

Straightening his back, Remington looked down at Malcolm. Despite having the advantage in height, he always felt suppressed by the man's presence.

He kept encouraging himself in his mind. He was just a cripple, what was there to fear?

Remington stiffly questioned, "Do you know that your car almost hit us just now?"

The man coldly glanced at Remington and asked, "But did it hit?"

"You can't say that you have no responsibility just because it didn't hit. Do you know how dangerous it is to drive like you did earlier?"

Remington just couldn't let it go. It was the first time he had encountered someone as unreasonable as himself.

Reese felt a kinship with Malcolm in terms of their similar personalities. Malcolm, however, had no interest in reasoning with this kid.

"Stay away from her, understand?"
