Chapter 430 Peaceful Resolution

Reese glanced sideways and gave Malcolm a faint look. "Why do I feel like you get easily influenced when you're with them?"

Normally, Malcolm wasn't like this. At the company, he was always stern and silent, his handsome face perpetually serious.

But now, he was even starting to joke around with Calvin and the others.

Malcolm raised an eyebrow. "These are the brothers who've been through thick and thin with you. How can I treat them lightly?"

Hearing this, Calvin immediately puffed up with pride. "Reese, did you hear that? We're pretty important people."

"Stop joking around. I've said almost everything that needs to be said. Just follow the plan. I still have to go out," Reese said.

Calvin was curious. "Reese, where are you going? Weren't we supposed to eat after this discussion?"

"I need to meet someone," Reese added.

The timing seemed about right.

Calvin didn't ask further. After all, it was Reese's business. It was just a pity they couldn't all eat together, as he enjoyed lively gatherings.

"Alright, we'll just have to eat together next time," Calvin said.

As Reese and Malcolm left together, Louis reminded them, still worried. "Reese, call us if you need anything. We'll be there in a heartbeat."

Hearing such words warmed hearts.

"Okay, finish what you're doing first, then go out for a meal. It's on me," Reese said.

Louis smiled. "Alright, thanks, Reese."

Malcolm and Reese got into the car and left, with everyone watching them go. Calvin, no longer in a playful mood, said with satisfaction. "Reese has finally found someone who truly cares for her."

Louis frowned and sighed. "But we don't know what Reese has gone through in this relationship. It's not easy for her to trust someone so completely."

They all knew about the Everhart incident, which had left Reese with significant psychological scars. For a long time, she trusted no one but them.

Ryan agreed. "Let's just hope Mr. Flynn never lets Reese down. Otherwise, the consequences would be unimaginable."

Reese experienced the process from initial caution to now giving her all, leaving no regrets. If she were betrayed again, the blow would be unbearable for anyone.

Hearing this, Calvin said fiercely, "If he dares to treat Reese badly, let's see if I let him off."

Louis chuckled. "We're all the same."

When Reese and Malcolm arrived at the address Nathaniel had sent, Nathaniel was already there. He hadn't expected Reese to bring Malcolm. Nathaniel had heard of the Flynn Group and the entire Flynn family.

As she approached, Nathaniel stood up first, his demeanor gentle and refined, unlike Alexander's cold sternness or Sebastian's youthful impulsiveness. He seemed calm and composed, a perfect blend of firmness and gentleness.

At first glance, Reese's impression of Nathaniel improved, but that didn't mean she let her guard down completely.

Nathaniel greeted Reese proactively, "Hello, sister Reese."

Reese didn't respond, just sat down. She didn't like beating around the bush and preferred to express her thoughts directly.

"Go ahead. What do you want? If you're here to ask me to leave this industry, you're going to be disappointed," Reese said.

Nathaniel shook his head. "I'm not here to ask you to leave this industry. Business is a personal matter. None of us have the right to tell you what to do. If you want to enter this industry and have the skills, then by all means."

Reese agreed with Nathaniel on this point. It was entirely about the Hawthorne family's mindset.

However, she wasn't naive or easily deceived. She wouldn't trust Nathaniel just because he said these things.

It was the first time Nathaniel had met her. They had no prior contact. After all, they were strangers.

Reese continued, "So, what do you mean now?"

She always believed that no one would seek her out for no reason.

Nathaniel didn't immediately respond to Reese but instead looked at Malcolm.

"It seems Mr. Flynn is quite good to my sister. The company must have many things to handle, yet you still find time to accompany her to meet me," Nathaniel said.

Malcolm retorted, "It's because your Hawthorne family has attacked Reese several times. I have to consider her safety."

Nathaniel laughed. "Mr. Flynn, you're joking. Even if our Hawthorne family mobilized everyone, didn't you still handle it? You should know well that Reese isn't someone easily bullied. She won't be easily deceived, unless by someone she trusts. Clearly, she has more defenses against the Hawthorne family than anyone else."

Malcolm frowned, a shadow passing through his eyes. "That's no excuse for you to hurt her. No matter what, she never intended to harm your family. But your family, with all its schemes, is just worried she'll take your wealth. I'd like to know how much wealth does your family have."

The last sentence was somewhat mocking and arrogant, but everyone knew he had the right to be.

Nathaniel thought the two of them indeed seemed well-matched, especially in their imposing manner.

"But my family's intentions aren't mine. I'm here today to make peace. Let's not dwell on past issues. Objectively speaking, our family hasn't treated you well. You should know our family dynamic. I suggest you give up and return to your previous life. You might be happier," Nathaniel suggested.

Reese turned cold, her gaze like a blade slowly sweeping over Nathaniel's face.

"Nathaniel, aren't you overthinking? Not everyone wants to join your family. My initial goal is just to find out who my biological father is. I didn't plan on acknowledging any family ties. It was your family that came to me, thinking I wanted to fight for your wealth," Reese replied.

She hadn't done anything yet and was already unfairly accused. No wonder Reese was angry.

'Does the Hawthorne family even understand who the real victim is?' Reese thought.

Nathaniel, still patient, didn't get angry but instead tried to persuade her kindly.

"Don't misunderstand me. That's not what I mean. We all hope to resolve this peacefully," Nathaniel added.
