Chapter 512 Trending on Social Media

The guy found himself here out of reason, still a bit freaked out.

"You guys... you're talking nonsense. I don't know anyone named Everhart. Let me go, or I'll call the cops."

Malcolm stayed cool and gave Justin a nod.

Justin pulled out a wad of cash, placed it in front of the guy, then showed him a photo on his phone.

"You've seen this person. We need to know where he's been. This money's yours if you help."

The guy's eyes lit up at the sight of the cash.

"Really?"

It looked like at least ten grand, much more than what he'd gotten from someone else that day.

He needed the money bad.

Justin added, "But you gotta be honest. If we catch you lying, you get nothing."

"Okay, don't worry. I'll tell the truth."

Justin asked, "When did you last see this man?"

"Two days ago, in the morning. I was getting my ID and saw him leaving a hotel with a woman."

Malcolm hadn't checked out the hotel because it was a low-end place with no cameras, located in a sketchy area. But with new rules, an ID was required to check in, even if it wasn't yours.

At least they had a lead now.

Justin didn't need to guess; he knew the woman had to be Dahlia.

Those two were really pushing it, staying in a hotel together. No wonder Dahlia's card was empty.

She must've spent the money on Everhart.

Malcolm leaned on his elbow, his gaze sharp. Just sitting there, he radiated pressure.

He asked the guy, "Can you contact him now, or have you heard anything from him?"

He could tell the guy wasn't dumb. People were cautious these days; they wouldn't lend out their ID for nothing. If something went wrong, they'd be in trouble.

So, Everhart must've said something convincing to get this guy to lend him his ID.

The guy thought for a moment and said, "He told me his family didn't want him with his girlfriend because she was pregnant. They were staying here for a night and going to the hospital for an abortion the next day. I felt sorry for him."

Malcolm frowned, a bad feeling creeping in.

Could Dahlia really be pregnant with Everhart's kid? But given Everhart's situation, how could he let that happen? It seemed unreal.

He didn't know if Everhart was lying.

Seeing Malcolm remain silent, Justin asked the guy again, "Do you have any other information for us?"

"I saw a plane ticket he dropped that day. Looked like he was going abroad. The date should be tomorrow."

Malcolm's eyes were thoughtful. After a moment, he told Justin, "Get someone to take him home and ensure his safety."

Justin got the hint. If they found this guy, so could Nolan. This guy knew too much, and if Nolan got to him, it would be bad.

"Got it, Mr. Flynn. I'll handle it."

The guy, sensing the questioning was over, eagerly asked Justin, "Can I take the money now?"

"Yeah, take it."

The guy quickly stuffed the money into his pocket, muttering, "I can't believe it. Just answer a few questions, and the money's mine."

Justin shook his head and gave a wry smile. The guy probably had no idea he was in real danger. If Nolan found him, he'd be lucky to get away with just a beating, let alone keep the money. Nolan would make his life hell.

After Justin and the guy left, Malcolm got up to grab his laptop.

"Louis, can you check recent flights and hospital records?"

Louis looked uneasy. "That's a huge task. I might not be able to handle it by myself."

"You handle the hospitals, I'll take care of the airport. But I'm curious, how does he plan to get through?"

Louis wasn't as concerned about how Everhart planned to leave Skyport City. He was more worried that Malcolm was also a computer whiz, basically a hacker, just like them.

To check the airport, you'd have to hack into their system, which wasn't easy. It was an international airport! If caught, he could get arrested.

Louis thought for a moment and stopped Malcolm. "Mr. Flynn, I'll check the airport, and you handle the hospitals."

"It's okay, I'll do it."

"Mr. Flynn, don't you trust my skills? I learned from Reese."

Malcolm's eyes were calm. "It's not that. I just think I have a better chance. If something goes wrong, it will be very troublesome."

He only trusted himself. He wasn't sure how skilled Louis was, but he knew his own capabilities very well.

Louis was a bit troubled. "Mr. Flynn, if something happens to you, Reese will skin me alive when she wakes up. Where will I find her another husband?"

Malcolm had already opened his laptop and started working, not giving Louis a chance to intervene. Louis had no choice.

Malcolm and Reese were both stubborn. Once they made a decision, it was hard to change their minds.

Louis worked quickly. Checking the hospitals wouldn't take much time, but he was worried about Malcolm.

He sat next to Malcolm, watching him. Malcolm was focused and calm, showing no signs of nervousness. Louis was more anxious than Malcolm.

After a few minutes, Louis realized he had underestimated Malcolm. He thought Malcolm was only good at negotiations and business, not skilled in this area.

But Malcolm was on the same level as Reese, very skilled. His speed and reaction time were unmatched. The other side had noticed but was quickly blocked by Malcolm, giving him time to work.

The other side couldn't detect him, allowing him to retreat safely.

Louis couldn't help but give Malcolm a thumbs up. "Mr. Flynn, you're truly skilled."

Luckily, he didn't take the task. If something went wrong, it would implicate Reese and the others.

After getting the data and making copies, Malcolm quickly exited, unscathed.

Louis slapped his thigh excitedly. "In and out without a trace. The people over there will probably need to be replaced."

The firewall and security system had been breached, indicating a vulnerability. They would need to rebuild the defense to prevent future breaches, which could cause significant losses.

Malcolm handed over the documents. "Let's focus on the task at hand."

Louis nodded. "Okay, Mr. Flynn. But you and Reese sometimes talk and act almost identical."

When he and Calvin talked too much, Reese would urge them to get to work.

Meanwhile, the airport hall was in chaos. No one had breached the system in years.

The captain was anxious. "What's going on? Have you found out who did it?"
