Chapter 353 Women Are No Less Than Men

"She must be here to play, thinking this place is open to anyone?"
"We've worked hard to secure this deal from Nolan, and now a young girl like her thinks she can just show up and demand it back?"
"I heard Reese is quite smart, right? Even Nolan values her a lot. How could she be so foolish as to do this?"
"Maybe Nolan mistook her, or maybe this woman has ulterior motives."
"It's a pity. She looks so good. It makes me itch to... ah..."
Before the man could finish his words, a shadow flashed before his eyes. By the time he reacted, an extremely sharp silver needle was pressed against his neck, causing immediate pain.
Everyone knew that it was the carotid artery. Despite the needle being small, a slight movement of her hand could lead to the person bleeding to death, without even enough time to get to the hospital.
Chaos erupted in the room.
"How dare you make a move within Harmony Alliance! If you dare to harm our people today, don't even think about leaving here alive."
"Let go of him!"
The subordinates below were clamoring, making the boss's temples throb.
Facing the danger posed by these people, Reese remained calm, her eyes betraying a cold determination far beyond her years.
Kay and Louis stood by, feeling somewhat relieved when Reese took action suddenly. They feared Reese enduring insults from these people.
The men's coarse language, commenting on Reese's looks in such a base manner, was indeed infuriating.
Gideon Spencer, the boss of Harmony Alliance, remained calm. Seeing Reese act in his territory, he showed no signs of panic.
"Reese, my men are rude. Don't bother with them. Of course, you're here for business today, and I also have something to discuss with you."
Reese didn't need to ask to know what Gideon wanted to talk about.
She bluntly stated his thoughts, "You want me to join Harmony Alliance, don't you?"
Gideon applauded her straightforwardness and said, "Indeed, Nolan has an eye for talent. You are truly sharp. I admire your abilities. If you come to Harmony Alliance, I can guarantee that it will be better than staying with Nolan."
Reese sneered, " Wishful thinking, Gideon. I'm already trying to escape Nolan's grasp. How could I jump from one pit to another?"
Reese wasn't a fool. Organizations were all the same, places devoid of humanity where only profit mattered.
If she agreed to join Gideon and angered Nolan later, Gideon might prioritize his own interests and leave her to fend for herself. Betrayal for profit wouldn't earn trust or a good ending.
She understood the gains and losses very well.
Gideon, however, was patient with talented people. "I'll give you time to think. When you're ready, come to us. But... could you release my man first? I'll have him apologize to you."
The lackey under Reese's silver needle was already pale with fear, but he maintained a tough front. "Gideon, why should I apologize to her? She..."
"Shut up! If you want to live, keep your mouth shut!" Gideon suddenly roared at the lackey.
The lackey shrank his neck, immediately falling silent.
Reese had witnessed the man's demeanor. He wasn't really angry, but his voice, rising suddenly, conveyed a powerful presence that was almost stifling.
It was understandable; without skill, one couldn't easily become the boss of Harmony Alliance. However, there was still a gap between his imagined self and reality.
Perhaps he was too inscrutable or too good at disguising himself; she couldn't discern more information for now.
Reese was curious about what Malcolm could do for him.
Though Gideon's lackey felt uncomfortable, he reluctantly apologized to Reese. His attitude seemed sincere because he knew his life was in her hands.
Gideon wanted Reese in Harmony Alliance, and he didn't want to make enemies unnecessarily.
Reese spared him, retracting her needle.
Gideon chuckled, his eyes narrowing like a sly fox. "I didn't expect you, Reese, to be skilled in medicine. Are you the one treating Nolan's illness on a regular basis?"
"Gideon, let's cut to the chase. I'm here for business. If we can't retrieve that deal, I can't face Nolan."
Reese remained composed, speaking confidently. She wasn't as respectful as the lackeys. No one dared to be so casual in front of Gideon.
Gideon was relatively better with Reese's temperament, though still distant. His subordinates obeyed out of fear.
Reese's calm demeanor impressed Gideon. Few could face him so steadily.
Apart from her, there was one more person. Gideon wanted to see what this girl could offer to willingly give up the deal.
He instructed, "Serve them some coffee first."
The lackeys obeyed, and Reese, Kay, and Louis sat down. Their purpose was to protect Reese; as long as she was safe, they could remain in the background.
Gideon leaned back, exuding a boss-like aura. Despite his dominance, Reese didn't feel suppressed, each maintaining their own demeanor.
As the lackey approached Reese with tea, he couldn't help but glance at her, feeling a chill from her sharp gaze and bloodthirsty aura.
Reese's gaze made him shiver. He realized he had narrowly escaped a dangerous situation. She was indeed a formidable character.
After a sip of tea, Reese casually remarked, "This tea is quite good. Gideon, you do have taste. Let's not waste time. Your deal seems to have been intercepted. I believe you're already aware."
Gideon sensed something amiss. "So, Miss Reese, are you implying that you intercepted this deal?"
