Chapter 358 Snowballing Trouble

"Maybe I'm just picky," Reese said and sat in the chair, ready to finish up the remaining documents.

Sophia thought about how sometimes she wanted to offer snacks to Reese, but she always refused. Maybe she really was picky.

Sophia didn't suspect much, but Natalie beside her was starting to doubt.

"Reese, Sophia at least considers you a friend. How could you deceive her like this?" Natalie said and walked up to them, arms crossed, exuding an air of knowing everything.

She continued, "You don't even think for yourself. With so many employees in the company, even if Justin is busy, there are other executives from different companies."

She added, "What is she? Just a regular employee at the Flynn Group. Why did Mr. Flynn choose her out of everyone, claiming it was for coffee? Who knows what she's up to in there."

Especially since Reese was good-looking, if she had any intentions towards Mr. Flynn, her chances of success were very high.

But Natalie hoped Reese wouldn't succeed.

Why should Reese, just a regular female employee in the company, be successful when she, also not lacking in looks, had tried to seduce Mr. Flynn but was always intimidated by his aura?

From the time Reese went in until now, it had been almost two hours, tasting coffee for two hours.

Natalie snorted, "I bet it's not about tasting coffee, seems more like tasting something else... oh..."

Before Natalie could finish her sentence, Reese splashed coffee all over her face, shocking the other colleagues in the office.

A colleague exclaimed, "What's going on!"

Somebody remarked, "Reese is being too arrogant."

Another asked, "Why is she getting physical again?"

One insinuated, "She's probably the one who fights the most with female colleagues in our company."

Someone accused, "Not just female colleagues, I bet Reese looks down on male colleagues too."

Reese's face was as cold as ice, especially her gaze, cutting into Natalie's face like a knife, her tone dripping with disdain.

Reese warned, "You better watch your mouth. What do you mean by tasting something else? Which eye of yours saw me doing something inappropriate in there?"

Natalie was on the verge of breaking down, looking at the coffee stains trickling down her neckline, she screamed.

Natalie yelled, "This is my new outfit."

This outfit cost Natalie half a month's salary, and it was ruined by Reese.

She quickly grabbed tissues to wipe the clothes, retorting indignantly.

Natalie sneered, "Do I even need to look? What you were doing in there, only you know. And besides, were my words wrong?

"With so many people in the company more capable and higher in status than you, why would they only invite you in for coffee? You, a country bumpkin, can't even tell what kind of coffee it is."

Natalie added, "You've been here for so long, why hasn't Mr. Flynn promoted you to a higher position? At least make you a manager. You're still just a regular employee, earning the lowest salary."

Reese slammed the coffee cup heavily on the table, the sound startling Natalie.

Reese stated, "Do you know that I can sue you for defamation for what you just said?"

Natalie was taken aback by Reese's words, her momentum immediately diminishing, staring at Reese anxiously, but unwilling to back down.

Natalie scoffed, "You... what nonsense are you talking about? I just said a few words, and you want to sue me for defamation? I bet with your meager salary that you probably can't even afford a lawyer."

Seeing the two about to argue, Sophia stepped in to mediate.

Sophia suggested, "Let's all calm down a bit. Reese probably didn't mean it that way."

"I mean exactly that." Reese showed no fear.

What Natalie couldn't stand the most was Reese's arrogance.

She pushed Sophia aside, snapping, "What's it to you? Get out of the way."

"I..." Sophia was pushed so suddenly that she almost fell cutting her words short.

Sophia felt embarrassed and didn't know what to do.

She had witnessed Reese's temper before, but if their superiors found out, none of them would be able to escape.

Natalie approached Reese, intending to suppress her with her own aura, but upon reaching her, she realized Reese's aura was too strong. How could a woman possess such a powerful presence?

Especially those eyes of Reese's, Natalie felt nervous just looking at them.

But she had no way out now. If she didn't confront Reese, how would she be able to face so many colleagues in the future?

Reese could sense the fear in Natalie's eyes, looking even more disdainful.

Reese remarked with disdain, "You don't have the guts to argue with me. Just shut up and sit down. I've never provoked any of you, but if someone comes looking for trouble, I have no reason to refuse."

Listening to Reese's words, it seemed like there had never been anyone as audacious as her in the Flynn Group office.

Natalie snorted, "Reese, do you think the whole Flynn Group belongs to you, that's why you dare to act so arrogantly?"

Reese replied, "Whether the Flynn Group belongs to me is not important. What's important is that you will soon pay for what you said."

If someone has no shame, there's no need to give them a face.

Natalie, however, didn't believe Reese could really do anything. With so many people watching, she doubted Reese would actually go to Mr. Flynn to argue.

She sneered, "Don't tell me you're planning to tell Mr. Flynn about this and have him fire me. If that's the case, the female employees in the entire company will be even less friendly towards you."

Reese chuckled disdainfully, "You underestimate me. I've recorded what you just said on my phone, Natalie. Don't say I didn't give you any face. Respect is earned, if you don't want it, then I'll take care of it for you."

She took out her phone and made a call to Calvin.

Reese instructed, "Contact my lawyer now. Someone is defaming me."

Calvin replied, "Understood."

Calvin immediately knew it must be those noisy and ignorant women from the Flynn Group causing trouble for Reese again.

Ah, there was no way around it. Sometimes, some people overstepped their bounds.

After hanging up the phone, Natalie looked at Reese seriously, realizing she wasn't joking, and her uncertainty grew, even her eyes kept avoiding Reese's gaze.

Natalie asked, "You... do you really have a lawyer, or did you spend some money to hire a fake lawyer to scare people?"

Reese couldn't be bothered with Natalie's nonsense, and replied, "Whether it's real or fake, you'll find out soon enough."

In just a few minutes, the lawyer had already entered the office, walking solemnly towards Reese.

The lawyer greeted, "Reese."

Reese pointed to Natalie beside her, and said, "This is the person defaming me."

Harrison Drummond looked at Natalie seriously, greeting, "Natalie, hello. I will now represent Reese in holding you legally accountable. In the next few days, we will provide you with the relevant information."

When Natalie heard the word "legal," her face turned pale with fear, and the fact that Reese had brought a lawyer caught her completely off guard.

How could a regular employee have a lawyer? It was unbelievable.

No matter what, she didn't believe it.

Natalie appeared indifferent, even looking down on Reese. She refused to accept the reality unfolding before her.

Natalie replied snidely, "Reese, you're really willing to spend money. Where did you find this fake lawyer? He does look convincing."

Reese was truly amazed by Natalie. Natalie not only seemed to look down on others but was unwilling to accept the truth. It was quite comical.

Natalie thought Reese had no abilities, which was quite normal. How could a regular employee like her have a personal lawyer?

And Reese thought Natalie was looking down on people. In today's society, many capable people keep a low profile; judging solely by appearances is not enough.

But Reese had given Natalie a chance, which she refused. Instead, she chose to provoke Reese, so she shouldn't blame Reese for not giving her face.

Some people just needed a lesson; otherwise, they wouldn't learn.

Reese turned to Harrison and said, "Show her your credentials to shut her up, so she stops doubting."

Harrison obliged, "Yes, Reese."

Harrison's respectful demeanor towards Reese surprised their colleagues, sparking discussions.

Somebody inquired, "What's going on? Could it be that Reese really has a personal lawyer?"

Someone scoffed, "Are you out of your mind? Reese is just a regular employee in the company. How could she have a personal lawyer?

"I could believe it if it were one of our executives, at least they have assets, funds, and stocks. What does Reese have, just her pretty face? Does she need a lawyer to protect herself?"

Natalie, hearing this, became even more convinced that Reese must have arranged this.

Natalie accused, "Reese, don't tell me you brought in a fake lawyer to deceive me."

Now it wasn't just about Reese; Harrison was now under serious suspicion.

Harrison handed his business card to Natalie, saying, "This is my card. If you doubt my identity, you can sue me, but right now, I'll be suing you."

Reese smirked as she watched the scene unfold. Natalie had not only offended her but also the lawyer, making her situation even worse.
