Chapter 395 Just do it

"Reese, there's a project that I am not sure if you're interested in taking on. It's from the media sector. "

Reese frowned, "Media isn't really our forte, so why accept?"

But I heard that the Hawthorne family, including Alexander Hawthorne, will also be involved in this project.

Calvin's intention was clear: he wanted to test their capabilities and impress the Hawthorne family, saving Reese from future troubles.

Calvin understood Reese well; Reese thrived on challenges. The more daunting the task, the more Reese's interest was piqued.

Sure enough, Reese's eyes lit up upon hearing this. Without hesitation, he readily accepted.

"We'll take it."

In the business arena, Alexander Hawthorne of the Hawthorne family was known to be quite the powerhouse, on par with Malcolm. Malcolm maintains a stern demeanor, rarely smiling, yet often engages in betrayal behind others' backs. However, he prefers to strike openly when others least expect it, his methods are more straightforward and transparent.

As for this individual from the Hawthorne family, Alexander Hawthorne, not much was known about him.

Calvin's enthusiasm mirrored Reese's. "Fantastic! I'll get everything organized immediately."

"Any suitable candidate from your side?

They had never delved into the media sector before.

"Yes, there is, don't worry. But I still need you to make decisions. I'll send the relevant information to your email for you to review. We only have three days, so it's urgent."

"No problem, haven't we gone days without sleep when we're swamped? Besides, snatching up projects from others suits us even better."

Reese's curiosity drove her to see just how capable the Hawthorne family really was.

"Alright, I'll hang up now."
Immediately after ending the call, Calvin sent all the project details to Reese. Reese opened her laptop and smoothly received the files. Glancing over them, she saw it was about investing in a film and required planning. It didn't seem too challenging, but with time constraints, Reese knew she'd have to learn on the fly.

After asking Calvin to gather the necessary information, Reese found herself genuinely intrigued. At 2 a.m., feeling drowsy, she grabbed a cup and headed to make some coffee. As she stepped out of her room, she bumped into Malcolm.

He emerged from the study, also holding an empty cup. They exchanged smiles.

Malcolm raised an eyebrow teasingly. "What are you up to?"

"Busy with a project," Reese replied, not hiding anything from Malcolm.

"Bring it over, let's work on it together. There are two chairs in the study, and it won't feel as lonely," Malcolm suggested.

Malcolm could roughly guess what project Reese was working on, as he had just received a message from Justin.

Presumably, Reese's team probably messaged her about the project. Malcolm knew Reese well enough to predict that she would readily agree, even if she had never tackled such a project before.

Reese's learning and reception abilities were above others.

Reese also thought that since Malcolm was busy with work too, they can work together in the same space.

"Alright, make me some coffee, and I'll bring my laptop from the room."

"Oh, ordering me around now, huh?" Malcolm said reluctantly but still took the cup from Reese.

"No sugar, dear."  Reese reminded him.

"Got you."

A faint smile graced Reese's lips as she entered the study with her laptop in hand.

Seeing Malcolm's desk covered in detailed media-related materials, Reese realized Malcolm was genuinely committed. Yet, breaking into the industry as a newcomer was no easy feat.

The Hawthorne family had also weathered numerous challenges to achieve their current success. Malcolm was just beginning and had yet to encounter the full extent of potential troubles ahead. Despite this, Malcolm had decided to take the plunge. Reese understood well that much of this decision was influenced by her.

If Malcolm wasn't trying to help Reese to demonstrate his capabilities to the Hawthorne family.

Taking such a risk was something Reese didn't mind for herself, but she was hesitant to drag others into it, especially someone like Malcolm from such a prominent family. Malcolm wasn't just living for himself; he carried the weight of the entire Flynn family on his shoulders.

If Malcolm couldn't succeed in the industry, it would entail significant risks.

Reese decided to tell Malcolm about this when he returned.

Malcolm returned with two cups of coffee and saw Reese focused on the documents in front of them, their fingers swiftly dancing across the keyboard.

Malcolm chuckled all of a sudden, "Who says only men look most charming when they're deeply engrossed in work? Women are just the same."

Especially when Reese furrowed their brows slightly, it was incredibly endearing.

Reese set aside the documents and turned, "You've brewed it so quickly?"

Malcolm placed the coffee beside Reese, "It's not that I brewed it quickly, it's just that you were too engrossed in what you were doing."

As he spoke, Malcolm glanced at Reese's screen, "I knew you'd take on this project, especially since the Hawthorne family, Alexander Hawthorne, is also competing for it. You want to challenge him, see who shines brighter."

Reese stroked her chin, but her tone was calm with a hint of playful sarcasm,.

"Maybe he did sparked my interest, that why wanted to give it a try."

Malcolm's voice softened as he stood beside Reese, and he reached out to caress her head,

"Clearly, you just want to showcase your abilities but feel the need for some legitimate excuse. Is it that hard to admit your excellence?"

"Don't tease me. I still don't know the full picture. What if I fail?"

Reese wasn't overflowing with confidence either, so she could only pledge to give it her all.

"But surprisingly, I'm finding myself intrigued by this field now. It's much more engaging than our typical land surveys."

Malcolm understood this point well.

"Absolutely, especially with all those fascinating stories involved. It's quite captivating. So, I believe we should venture into this area. As long as you're interested, don't lose heart."

Malcolm had faith in Reese. If she could succeed in tasks she wasn't initially drawn to, she could undoubtedly excel in something she was truly passionate about.

"I don't mind, but what about you? If Grandpa Flynn finds out that you're only doing this project with the Hawthorne family because of me, he'll definitely scold you."

Reese was very worried.

Malcolm reached out and pinched Reese's cheeks gently, "Darling, this isn't like you at all. You weren't like this before."

The old Reese, no matter who tried to stop her, she wouldn't give up easily.

Reese sighed helplessly, "I miss the old me too, but isn't it different now? Now that I have you, I can't just think about myself like I used to."

Malcolm's expression shifted at her words, surprised.
