Chapter 544 Which One Do You Prefer?
"She's from the Flynn family," Sebastian remarked, his tone serious. "Think twice before crossing her."
In Atlanta's cutthroat business circles, the Flynn family's influence reigned supreme. To meddle with them was to invite trouble of the highest order. The man remained dubious, cautious of the implications of this new revelation. "Are you serious?" he asked.
"If you don't believe me, check for yourself. Even if she's not from the Flynn family, since she's here to see me, I'm responsible for her safety. So, don't even think about touching a single hair on her head." At this moment, Sebastian's typical nonchalant demeanor faded away. His sharp brows furrowed, and his serious expression was somewhat intimidating.
The man was indeed a bit scared. If something really went wrong, he couldn't bear the consequences. "I was just joking. Don't take it too seriously. Everyone knows you're famous for your sense of justice."
Alyssa muttered, "No matter what, he's definitely more just than you."
"You..." The man was about to lash out at Alyssa, but she quickly hid behind Sebastian.
With a crowd heavily favoring the other side and feeling like a fish out of water, Alyssa knew she couldn't rely on Malcolm's timely help. Faced with the harsh reality, she decided to speak a few words to satisfy her craving,
Standing before Alyssa, Sebastian appeared as firm as a rock. At that moment, Alyssa suddenly realized how handsome Sebastian was, like a real man. Previously, she had regarded him as immature, even less mature than herself.
In her impression, individuals of wealth like him were often associated with excessive indulgence and lavish spending. They were believed to view women as disposable commodities, lacking in respect and consideration.
Yet now, it seemed that Sebastian was different from those people.
Sebastian turned around and took Alyssa's hand. "Let's go. We'll talk outside."
Alyssa was stunned momentarily, then nodded. "Okay."
Sebastian led Alyssa outside, and the people behind them started discussing.
"Sebastian probably wants to get this girl for himself."
"Yeah, I've known him for years, and I've never seen him get cozy with any woman like this before. This dude is practically squeaky clean. You could be a mile away and still not spot a lady in his vicinity. He never even mentions having a girlfriend. It's always either cars or his never-quite-there-yet software project that keeps him occupied."
"I think they look good together. Both are good-looking."
After they went outside, Sebastian let go of her hand, put his hands back in his pockets, and still looked serious. "Don't come to places like this again. It's full of men."
Alyssa raised an eyebrow. "So what if it's full of men? It's just that the men here are too lousy, like they've never seen a woman before."
Sebastian chuckled, "It's because you're good-looking. Not many girls frequent that spot usually. Being young, you're bound to attract attention."
"I didn't expect this to happen. I just wanted to find you," Alyssa said.
Sebastian lowered his head, fumbling for a cigarette in his pocket. He bit it and was about to light it when he saw Alyssa standing in front of him and asked, "Do you mind me smoking?"
Alyssa quickly waved her hand. "No, go ahead." Her impression of Sebastian improved a lot because he asked her. She hadn't thought Sebastian would be like this before, but now she suddenly realized he was actually quite nice.
Sebastian lit the cigarette and squinted. "What do you need from me?"
Alyssa noticed that Sebastian behaved maturely when not with Reese. But around Reese, he became like a playful puppy. Similarly, Alyssa found herself well-behaved in Reese's presence, but at work, she was serious and commanding, earning the respect of her subordinates.
Alyssa then remembered her real purpose for finding Sebastian. "Didn't you want to see Reese's luxury car garage? I can take you there," she said.
Sebastian felt a tinge of skepticism. Reese's wealth was impressive. Having a garage was one thing, but a luxury car garage? It seemed too extravagant to believe, especially coming from Alyssa.
"Do you know where Reese's luxury car garage is?" Sebastian inquired.
"Just give her a call and ask. Reese likes to spoil me. I'm sure she'll let me in," Alyssa replied, a hint of pride in her voice.
Sebastian had long wanted to see what Reese's garage looked like. Hearing Alyssa talk about it so enthusiastically made him even more curious. "Alright, let's go now."
Alyssa was thrilled to hear this. She thought if she could get Sebastian to the garage, it would be easier to solve the remaining issues. Once they were at Reese's garage, maybe he'd fancy a car, and it would be easier to ask her for a favor.
Pleased with her little plan, Alyssa said, "Okay, let me call Reese first."
Reese, currently at the hospital with Malcolm, was deep in conversation, discussing plans and next steps. When Alyssa's call came through, Reese quickly grasped the gist of Alyssa's intentions. However, she didn't expect Sebastian to agree so readily. Suspecting Alyssa's secret motive, Reese thought to herself, 'She must be trying to lead Sebastian to the garage first.'
"Hey, Reese, can you give me the key to your garage?" Alyssa exclaimed out as the call was reached.
"My garage doesn't have a key," Reese stated.
Alyssa was stunned. "No key? Reese, are you kidding me? How can you not have a key? Without a key, how do you even get in?"
"It's an electronic lock. Just enter the password,"Reese replied.
"You've got an electronic lock? The cars inside must be really expensive. Send me the address and the password. I'm heading there with Sebastian now." Alyssa was more excited.
"I've sent it with message."
Alyssa was shocked again. "So fast? Reese, are you a mind reader? I haven't even said anything, and you already know."
"Isn't it obvious why you're calling?" Reese didn't even need to ask.
Alyssa chuckled, "Alright, Reese, I'm heading there with Sebastian now."
"Okay, be safe," Reese said, then hung up the phone.
Alyssa waved at Sebastian. "Let's go."
Upon their arrival at the garage, both of them were stunned. Alyssa looked at the enormous garage. It wasn't just a garage; it was more like a car show, and it was luxuriously decorated. Her initial assumption was correct – it truly was a luxurious garage.
Sebastian was also amazed, looking around carefully, afraid to miss anything. "Oh my God, Reese is so rich."
"I didn't expect Reese to be the real wealthy one. It seems Malcolm is the one who married into money," Alyssa teased.
"Of course, she's my sister after all," Sebastian said, a hint of pride in his voice.
Alyssa gave him a sidelong glance. "Do I need to list out how the Hawthorne family treated Reese before?"
Sebastian felt a twinge of embarrassment, although he knew the situation wasn't entirely his fault. "I wanted to help Reese, but you saw it yourself. No one in my family listens to me. I was helpless," he confessed, feeling he had done his best for Reese. He couldn't completely cut ties with the Hawthorne family.
Alyssa recognized Sebastian's protective nature towards Reese, a trait made apparent during the incident involving his confiscated car. However, she understood that Sebastian alone couldn't solve everything. Unfortunately, there seemed to be no way around it - the Hawthorne family's stubbornness often posed a significant challenge. "Alright, I won't blame you," she remarked.
"But why did you suddenly come to find me and bring me to see Reese's luxury garage?" Sebastian always thought Alyssa was a bit quirky. Her sudden invitation must have a reason.
Alyssa pointed to the many luxury cars in front of them. "Pick any one you like and drive it away."
Sebastian raised an eyebrow at Alyssa's lavish attitude. "Just to be clear, this is Reese's garage, not yours. You can't just give away her cars. Can you even make that decision?"
While Reese had indeed made a promise to him, allowing him to choose a car from her garage, Alyssa's sudden offer left him feeling uneasy.
"Just tell me what you want. We're not the type to beat around the bush," Sebastian stated directly.
Alyssa smiled awkwardly. "You figured it out."
"So..."
"I actually do have a favor to ask. I heard you recently ordered a nice car. Would you consider trading it with me?" Alyssa looked at Sebastian cautiously.
Sebastian was shocked. "You want me to trade cars with you? Ms. Flynn from the prestigious Flynn family, are you joking, or am I somehow losing my marbles? You must know that car isn't easy to get. I went through a lot to get it, and now you want me to trade it with one of Reese's cars? That's quite a deal for you."
Alyssa knew asking Sebastian to trade cars was a bit much. They both loved cars and couldn't resist a good one.
Alyssa was unusually nice to Sebastian this time. "You see my sincerity, right? How about you just agree?" She clasped her hands together, looking at Sebastian with pleading eyes, her lips pouting, and her voice full of supplication.
Sebastian clenched his fists, turned his head, and snorted, "Don't try that trick on me. It won't work."
Alyssa, who usually seemed fierce, suddenly being gentle was quite unsettling. She blinked at Sebastian. "Then tell me what you prefer. I'll try it."
Sebastian was speechless. It wasn't about what he preferred. He just wouldn't give her the car. He had worked hard to get it and couldn't give it away easily.
Alyssa, still unwilling to give up, tugged at Sebastian's sleeve. "Please. There are so many cars here. Isn't there one you like? Are Reese's cars not good enough for you?"
