Chapter 352 Home Visit

Reese was still unaware that Malcolm had already investigated her and Everhart's situation. At the moment, she was solely focused on resolving the issues within the Harmony Alliance.
After getting everything ready on her end, she took the files and headed out to meet Louis.
Just as she reached the door, Everly appeared out of nowhere.
Seeing Reese hurriedly leaving, Everly recalled passing by Reese's room the previous night. Initially not intending anything, she pushed the door out of curiosity, only to find it empty.
Malcolm was probably busy at the company, but what about Reese? As a regular employee, she shouldn't have any social engagements or major projects to attend to.
Everly secretly rejoiced, feeling like she finally caught Reese in a compromising situation and was eager to see how Reese would explain herself this time.
"Reese, you're busier than the CEO of the Flynn Group lately. You must have had a busy night yesterday, right?" Everly remarked.
Upon hearing Everly's words, Reese immediately understood. It seemed Everly had noticed her absence the previous night and was now trying to settle a score.
Indeed, some people never learn.
However, Reese had no time to argue with Everly at that moment. She decided that she would make Everly taste her sharp tongue another day when she was in the mood.
Glancing lazily at Everly's smug expression, Reese casually responded, "Since you noticed I wasn't home last night, why don't you hurry to the company and tell Malcolm to investigate whether I met a man privately last night?"
Her unexpected reply caught Everly off guard. She thought she had caught Reese red-handed and expected her to be nervous or guilty. In the Flynn family, if a woman stayed out all night, it would violate the family rules. If Grandpa found out, Reese would surely face consequences. Yet here she was, standing her ground confidently.
With widened eyes, Everly retorted, "Do you think I wouldn't dare?"
"I didn't say you wouldn't dare, but next time, if you encounter such a 'lucky' situation, investigate where I went first. Otherwise, without solid evidence, your accusations won't hold much weight," Reese calmly stated.
"You..."
"If you have suspicions, by all means, go investigate first. It's better to confront me with evidence. That way, your gloating would be more justified," Reese added before walking away without sparing Everly another glance.
Watching Reese's proud figure leave, Everly's face turned even more livid. Who gave this girl so much confidence?
Everly was determined to find out where Reese had been the previous night.
Exiting the Flynn family, Reese drove to the secret base, dismissing Everly's little episode as insignificant. Upon arrival, Kay and Louis were already waiting at the entrance. She rolled down the window and called out to them, "Get in."
Once Louis and Kay were in the car, their expressions turned serious. Seeing them like that, Reese couldn't help but tease. "Can you two relax a bit? Why do you look like you're heading to the gallows?"
Louis replied, "Miss Brooks, we're just concerned that any danger we face might put you at risk."
Reese's expression immediately darkened, her tone serious. "Louis, we are family. Don't talk about risking or not risking. Even if I were to lose my life today, I would ensure your safety."
She couldn't let these people risk their lives without acknowledging their sacrifices. They were her family, and their lives were more important than her own.
Louis, however, had a different perspective. "No, Reese, we don't want you to sacrifice yourself to save us. On the contrary, in an emergency, we would rather you sacrifice us to save yourself."
Kay nodded in agreement. "Yes, Reese. Without you, there would be no us. Our lives are in your hands."
"Alright, you two big men, stop nagging like women over here. What's with all this sentimentality? We'll all be fine," Reese said, not one to beat around the bush. She was decisive and would not waste time. She believed that delaying certain matters would only lead to more trouble.
Louis and Kay exchanged a glance, clearly taken aback by Reese's demeanor. They refrained from speaking further.
Reese instructed them, "When we get there, stay quiet and don't say much unless I give you the signal to act. Keep your cool."
"Got it."
"Understood."
The journey to Harmony Alliance wasn't long. Reese's visit today was to understand the situation within Harmony Alliance and to figure out Malcolm's role there.
Upon reaching the entrance, the guards stopped them. "Whom are you looking for?"
Reese got straight to the point. "Tell your boss that I'm Reese. He will naturally let me in."
Upon hearing her name, the guard's expression changed. Reese... Reese, Nolan's proudest disciple, a woman who had once created countless glories for Nolan and his team.
Indeed, Reese was undeniably beautiful, with an unmatched aura.
The guard said to his bald colleague, "You stay here; I'll go inform the boss."
"Alright."
The bald guard couldn't take his eyes off Reese; he was practically glued to her.
Louis, noticing this, felt irritated and couldn't hold back his temper. "If you keep staring, I swear I'll gouge your eyes out."
The guard was somewhat afraid of Louis. After all, this woman was a legendary figure in their line of work, a rare talent over the years.
He reluctantly averted his gaze, but his desire for Reese was evident, as if she were a forbidden fruit.
Reese paid no attention to such insignificant individuals.
Soon, the guard returned. "Reese, you may enter."
Reese, Kay, and Louis walked in. The room wasn't crowded, but everyone inside seemed strong and robust. Reese wondered if the three of them could handle them if things turned physical.
This was the first time Reese had seen the boss of Harmony Alliance, a middle-aged man in his forties, considerably younger than Nolan. His demeanor exuded seriousness, yet his eyes hinted at a ruthless nature, indicating he was no ordinary man.
It was understandable; after all, he was the boss of Harmony Alliance. Having weathered many storms, he couldn't possibly look gentle. Reese preferred individuals who exuded a sense of danger at first glance, as they were less likely to fall into the trap of false kindness.
The man sized up Reese and was visibly impressed. " Reese, I didn't expect you to be so young and beautiful. No wonder Nolan refused to let you go."
He knew a bit about Reese; rumors had it that she had been absent from the organization for the past few years. However, everyone knew that leaving the organization, especially for those crucial to its operations, was nearly impossible, often entangled with secrets or leverage held over them, sometimes even concerning their families' safety.
Yet the organization wasn't entirely heartless. Loyalty and service were rewarded with wealth, ensuring a better life than those outside.
This was why, despite its cruelty, many chose to stay.
Unaffected by these words, Reese got straight to the point. " My only purpose today is to reclaim the business Nolan had taken."
Her statement elicited laughter from the audience.
"Is she joking? Once a business is taken, who would return it? Is she dreaming?"
