Chapter 557 Please Forgive Me
He asked, trying to comfirm, "Mr. Flynn, are you sure? If this gets to the media, Ms. Flynn might never be able to show her face in public again."
It was bad enough that Everly, once so pampered, couldn't even afford a meal. Now, broadcasting such a humiliating incident to the media would surely be pushing her to the brink.
Malcolm's lips were tight, his dark eyes showing no trace of sympathy as he said coldly, "Why haven't you considered that she's just losing some dignity right now? That time she drugged grandpa, if it weren't for Reese, grandpa would be dead by now."
And that other time in the hospital, if Aiden hadn't drunk so little, he might have...
Even if she was used by Vincent, she still did it, and that couldn't be forgiven.
Everyone must bear the consequences of their actions. Everly was an adult; she should pay for her despicable behavior.
Justin fell silent. Deep down, he actually felt sorry for Everly, who had made one wrong move after another.
He couldn't understand why did she have to collude with Vincent and harm Reese and Aiden.
When Malcolm wanted to deal with someone, unlike some who would stab in outright,he would slowly insert the knife into their skin, like a drill, making them suffer unbearably.
This was far more painful than a quick death.
That was why Justin was so afraid of Malcolm.
Malcolm seemed to have other matters to attend to and said to Justin, "Go handle it now. I'll give you further instructions later."
Justin could tell from his words that Malcolm didn't intend to let Everly off so easily.
Justin nodded in agreement. "Yes, I'll go now."
Within minutes, all the major media outlets had reported on Everly's situation, including photos of her talking to the waiter in the restaurant and washing dishes. It spread quickly throughout Atlanta, and people everywhere started discussing it on their phones heatedly.
"What's going on with Everly from the Flynn family? How did she end up as a waitress washing dishes in a restaurant? That's ridiculous!" Someone was surprised.
"I heard she was kicked out of the Flynn family. Apparently, she tried to harm Mr. Aiden Flynn, so Mr. Malcolm Flynn kicked her out. It means the Flynn family no longer acknowledges her," somebody said.
"That makes sense. Since she's no longer part of the Flynn family, their money isn't hers anymore. It's normal for her to be unable to pay for her meals," Others agreed.
"Life is unpredictable. Who would have thought that Everly, once living in luxury, would fall so low?" someone chimed in.
"People like them can't handle it like we can. They've enjoyed life for so long they've forgotten their roots. Asking her to live an ordinary life now would kill her," Another mocked.
Meanwhile, Everly was in the break room, scrolling through these comments on her phone, feeling desperate. Her face was ashen, and she gripped her phone tightly.
She knew well that only Malcolm could have exposed this to the media so quickly. Now, all of Atlanta knew she was abandoned by the Flynn family.
No one would treat her with repsect now.
'It must be Reese. Reese must have instigated Malcolm,' she thought.
Before, Malcolm only told her to leave the Flynn family but didn't intend to make it public. Now everyone knew she was kicked out and had no ties to the Flynn family.
She believed this was all Reese's doing.
She had to find Malcolm and get answers. He couldn't possibly do this to her.
She grabbed her phone and ran out.
Coincidentally, Reese was coming to see Malcolm about something related to Nolan.
They hadn't talked long when there was a commotion at the door.
"Ms. Flynn, I'm sorry, but Mr. Flynn isn't seeing anyone right now," Justin said.
Everly yelled, "Justin, have you been poisoned by Reese too? Don't you recognize me? Even if I'm no longer the director of the Flynn Group, I'm still part of the Flynn family."
Justin remained polite but distant, saying, "Ms. Flynn, Mr. Flynn made it clear at the hospital that you no longer have any ties to the Flynn family."
She said, "I don't accept that. I'm still part of the Flynn family. My last name is still Flynn. I want to see him!"
Everly tried to force her way in, catching Justin off guard.
"Malcolm, Malcolm..." Everly shouted.
Malcolm heard Everly's shouting and frowned, his face darkening.
Justin hurried in, noticing Malcolm's angry expression. He quickly lowered his head and apologized, "I'm sorry, Mr. Flynn. I couldn't stop her."
Malcolm waved him off. "It's fine. You can leave now."
"Yes, sir."
Justin quickly left, wiping the sweat from his forehead. In his eyes, Everly was too impulsive, not realizing her actions only made Malcolm despise her more.
If she could just live her life quietly and stay out of Malcolm's sight, she might have a chance at a normal life, at least better than now.
When Everly saw Reese, she gritted her teeth and charged at her, cursing, "It's all your fault! If it weren't for you, Malcolm wouldn't treat me like this! You bitch!"
But before Everly could touch Reese, Malcolm stopped her.
"Everly!"
Malcolm grabbed her hand, his eyes cold, his presence oppressive.
Everly looked up and met Malcolm's gaze, her heart trembling with fear. Her arrogance vanished instantly.
"Malcolm..." She murmured.
Malcolm angrily pushed her away, and she stumbled to the ground, tears welling up in her eyes.
"Malcolm, how can you treat me like this? You never treated me this way before. Are you abandoning me for Reese now?"
Malcolm's face was tight, his brows furrowed, his voice devoid of emotion.
"I never thought you'd harm Grandpa. If you can harm your own family, what else won't you do?"
Everly pleaded, "I... I know I was wrong, Malcolm. Please forgive me this once. I'll apologize to Grandpa. Please... give me one more chance?"
