Chapter 560 An Unexpected Journey

Reese's eyes lit up when she heard that. "Spill it, who are they?"

They thought they were outta luck, but Hugo, outta nowhere, still remembered those names.

This was a big win for them since they were stressing about what to do if they hit a dead end.

If they could dig up more dirt on Nolan, they could really nail him. Right now, the cops were barely lifting a finger. At best, they could only pin Nolan as a middleman, not the guy directly selling guns to Vincent.

Reese wasn't shocked. She knew Nolan wouldn't be dumb enough to sell guns to Vincent under his own name.

Nolan wasn't totally sure Vincent would pull it off since Nolan knew what she was capable of.

The hitmen Vincent hired to take her out wouldn't have it easy. Vincent probably didn't even know Nolan had set him up.

Hugo thought for a sec, then grabbed some paper and scribbled down a couple of names for Reese.

"I can only remember two: Wade Grant and Guadalupe Diaz. But I got no clue where they live," he said.

Reese nodded, "Alright, I'll have Calvin dig into it."

Even just a name was better than nothing.

Reese shot the names over to Calvin and asked him to check them out.

For Calvin, tracking down people without much background was a piece of cake. Within five minutes, Calvin had sent over the addresses.

Reese checked the GPS and said to Malcolm, "If we drive, it'll take about two hours."

"Let's fly. It'll only take like ten minutes," Malcolm suggested.

Hugo, standing nearby, looked shocked and gave Reese a thumbs up, "Reese, Mr. Flynn is really something."

Sure, it seemed a bit over the top, but a private jet could be a lifesaver when time was tight.

Reese did the math and shook her head, "Nah, if we fly, there's nowhere to land. We'd still have to drive for half an hour. Too much hassle. Let's just drive."

"Whatever you say," Malcolm said, wrapping his arm around Reese, his usually cold eyes now warm.

"Reese, where did you find a guy as good as Mr. Flynn? I can tell he really loves you," Hugo teased.

Reese felt lucky to have met Malcolm, who had pulled her out of her old life.

She used to worry Malcolm might ditch her and she'd go back to her old ways. But luckily, he didn't.

Malcolm checked the time, "Let's roll."

As they were about to leave, Hugo hurriedly stepped forward. "Reese, should I tag along?"

Reese said, "No need. Justin's coming with us. You got your own stuff to handle. Now that Nolan's gone, he probably won't come back. The cops will likely seal this place. Grab what you need and take a good look around. You've been here long enough."

Hugo was an orphan, taken in and trained by Nolan. He didn't find happiness here, but at least he had food and shelter.

Sometimes, staying alive was more important than anything else. Even if there was no warmth here, he had spent many years in this place.

If Nolan hadn't wanted to kill Hugo, Hugo might never have thought of leaving.

In a way, it saved his life. If he had stayed with Nolan, his fate wouldn't have been much better.

Hugo always listened to Reese. Since following her, he found that Reese was almost capable of anything.

He nodded. "Alright, Reese, I'll follow your arrangements. You go ahead."

The three of them set off and arrived at Harmony Town two hours later. Seeing the village reminded Reese of the last time she came looking for Calvin. It had been quite an ordeal.

But with Malcolm by her side this time, she felt more at ease. Even without him, she could handle things on her own as she felt this was the best state she had ever been in.

Following the navigation, they found one of the addresses. Just as they were about to enter, an elderly woman, around seventy, came out. Her clothes were worn, and the house looked barely able to keep out the elements. The roof seemed to have been patched multiple times.

Reese hadn't prepared herself for this. Though she was usually indifferent, she felt compassion for the elderly.

Thinking about these old people, who had worked hard all their lives to raise their children, only to live in such poor conditions in their old age, made her feel pity.

The old woman looked at the strangers with fear in her cloudy eyes, asking, "Who are you? Did Wade owe money again?"

Hearing this, Reese could guess what was going on. It must be part of Nolan's scheme. Given the old woman's reaction upon seeing them, Reese could tell she must have been through something traumatic.

Reese had seen Nolan's methods. He didn't care if his targets were elderly or if they could handle it. As long as he achieved his goals, he didn't care about others' lives.

Reese stepped forward, shedding her usual cold demeanor, and appeared gentle and approachable, asking softly, "Ma'am, is this Wade Grant's home?"

The old woman replied, "Yes, this is Wade's home. Who are you? Did Wade owe money again?"

The mention of money made her voice tremble.

Reese quickly added, "No, ma'am, don't worry. We're not here to collect debts. We just want to ask you some questions about Wade. Can we come in?"

Hearing they weren't debt collectors, the old woman relaxed as she said, "Alright, come in."

They followed her inside.

Reese glanced around. Though the place was simple, it was clean and tidy. The old woman seemed to be a neat person. It was just a pity that...
