Chapter 104 Faithful to Love

After catching an amazing show, Emma wandered through the little garden. Suddenly, a news headline grabbed her attention.

The headline screamed: #World's Highest-Paid Wizard Exposed: Used Tech Gadgets for Magic Effects, Now Fled to Lakeside Haven

Her heart skipped a beat, and she couldn't help but picture Marcus doing his thing in that tiny cabin.

So, Marcus was a total fraud.

"Unbelievable," she muttered, a cold smile creeping onto her face. Looked like Anna got duped by him.

However, this kind of thing couldn't be reported to the police. Anna was stuck with the embarrassment. Thinking about Anna getting tricked by Marcus made the whole situation oddly amusing.

Lost in her thoughts, she kept walking deeper into the garden when a familiar figure showed up.

Emma was a bit surprised. It was George.

George stood there quietly, the sunlight highlighting his features. He saw Emma too but didn't dare to come closer.

In the garden's sunlight, the air was filled with the scent of flowers and grass. Her sunglasses hid her eyes, but they couldn't mask the elegance she carried.

Three years seemed to freeze in that moment. It was like nothing had ever happened.

'Is it really her?' George wondered, a mix of hesitation and unease in his eyes. Three years apart made him doubt his own eyes.

He remembered the fire that day, the whole house, including Emma, reduced to ashes. He never saw her body being buried.

Back then, he thought Emma's body felt soft, like she wasn't really dead!

Their eyes met.

George's heart pounded, almost bursting out of his chest. He wanted to step forward but felt held back by some invisible force. Fate had them tied together but kept them apart.

"Who are you?" he asked softly, afraid to break the spell.

Emma smiled slightly; she wasn't ready to spill the beans.

"Just a passerby," she said casually, turning to leave. Her smile was warm like the sun but had a touch of aloofness.

George's eyes followed her. He couldn't help but chase after her.

"Wait!" he called out urgently.

Emma stopped and turned around, a playful smile on her face.

She knew what George wanted to ask but wasn't about to give him the chance.

"Mr. Russell, with a fiancée, you shouldn't be flirting around. Be faithful to love." Her words hit George like a punch, laced with sarcasm and disdain.

"How do you know who I am?" George was stunned, his expression shifting.

Emma smiled calmly. "At Lakeside Haven, who wouldn't know Mr. Russell?"

"Tell me your name." George realized his mistake as soon as he spoke, and he rarely explained. "You know my name, but I don't know yours. It's not fair."

"Alright, my name is Isabella Taylor." Emma refused George's outstretched hand; she didn't want any physical contact with him. Emma found George dirty.

George didn't mind Emma's impolite behavior and even offered to give her a ride.

"It would be bad to be misunderstood by your fiancée." Emma disdainfully took a step back. "Mr. Russell, thank you for your kindness, but we are not familiar."

Emma's heart grew colder, feeling unworthy of her past. When she was George's wife, he never spoke to her so gently. Now, he was being kind to a stranger.

Men were so "faithful"!

Just as Emma was about to say goodbye to George, her phone rang. Her ringtoneIt was the song Emma sang at a bar party years ago.

George's eyes lit up instantly; he was certain that the woman in front of him was Emma! Although he didn't know how Emma survived, Emma didn't die!

Emma had no time to care about George's thoughts; her attention was entirely on the phone call.

"Is this Ms. Taylor?" The teacher's voice on the other end was clear and urgent. "Seraphine was bullied by other kids at kindergarten and got a little hurt. She's been taken to the hospital. Please come immediately."

Her heart sank; Seraphine had just started school, how could this happen?

Meanwhile, George also received a call from Lucas's school, equally urgent. "Mr. Russell, Lucas got into a fight at school and was slightly injured. We've already taken him to the hospital. Please come quickly."

"I don't have time. Call Anna." George refused outright.

However, the teacher on the other end was more anxious.

"I've called Ms. Jones many times, but she hasn't answered. The parents of the child who was hit also want you to come."

"Alright, I'll be there."

Although George only had Lucas, he didn't communicate much with him.

Lucas was raised at The Russell Mansion. After George's divorce, Charles didn't show good face to George, so he rarely went back. It had been over a month since he last saw Lucas.

Maybe they weren't close enough, and Lucas didn't like George much.

It was normal for a child not to be close to their father, but Lucas wasn't close to Anna either. Instead, he was very close to Scarlett and Charles. Charles had taught Lucas well; he had never fought.

Emma and George almost simultaneously walked out of the funeral home.

Emma wanted to hail a cab by the roadside, but she couldn't get a cab for a long time.

At this moment, a black luxury car stopped in front of Emma.

"Ms. Taylor, if you don't mind, I'll give you a ride."

"Alright, thank you, Mr. Russell."
