Chapter 470 Firefight

"What the hell is this?" Emma's voice was filled with disbelief.

"My private armory," George said, his face expressionless. "Years of prepping for emergencies."

George quickly threw on a bulletproof vest and grabbed two of the latest model assault rifles.

"Looks like we're in deep shit," George muttered.

A wild thought flashed through Emma's mind: if they couldn't be together in life, maybe dying together would be a different kind of solace. But she didn't voice this thought, instead standing silently by George's side.

"There are sixteen of them, heavily armed," George said, handing her a bulletproof vest and a rifle, his eyes filled with an undeniable protectiveness.

Emma put on the gear. Despite her fear, she chose to trust George.

The infrared alarms outside continued to blare. Inside the villa, George and Emma were on high alert. They exchanged a glance, subtly hinting with their eyes: no matter what, they would face it together.

George quickly activated the villa's outer defense system. Dozens of hidden turrets rose from the beach, precisely targeting the area where the pirates were landing. A high-voltage electric grid activated, covering the entire beach with a dense network of electric shocks.

The first wave of attacks took down three of the pirates. Black Shark quickly ordered his team to find cover and launched a fierce counterattack. They were clearly a well-trained elite pirate team, quickly identifying the blind spots in George's defense system and beginning to breach it.

The turrets kept firing, but the pirates coordinated seamlessly. Eugene led part of the team to provide covering fire while the others began cutting through the electric grid with specialized insulating equipment.

"Damn it!" George cursed under his breath. "They're stronger than I thought."

Emma stood beside him, nervously asking, "Can we hold them off?"

"I don't know. Get ready to fight."

In just ten minutes, the pirates had breached most of the defense system. Six bodies lay on the beach, but ten pirates remained. They began using rocket launchers and heavy weapons to attack the villa's perimeter.

Explosions echoed continuously, and cracks began to appear in the villa's outer walls. George quickly set up defensive positions, knowing the real battle was just beginning. Emma stood by his side, her fear giving way to determination.

"What do they want?" Emma asked quietly.

George replied calmly, "Whatever it is, they'll have to get it over my dead body."

The battle intensified as the pirates pushed into the villa. George and Emma stood back-to-back, guns aimed at the entrance, ready for the imminent fight.

From the start, it was a lopsided battle. No matter how sophisticated George's defense system was, it struggled against sixteen well-trained elite pirates. Black Shark was clearly an experienced combat commander, their attack strategy as precise as a surgeon's scalpel, cutting through George's defenses.

The pirates used their numbers and precise tactics to gradually dismantle George's defense system.

The most devastating blow came in the study.

A well-aimed rocket hit their main fortification head-on. The violent explosion instantly destroyed the defensive position, filling the space with debris and thick smoke.

Emma was thrown to the ground by the blast, her ears ringing. George quickly pulled her to a relatively safe corner and began to return fire. But the pirates' firepower was overwhelming, and they soon breached the study's defenses.

Eugene led the assault team and advanced into the villa's interior. They coordinated perfectly, one providing covering fire while the other advanced quickly. In just ten minutes, George was forced to abandon the study, the living room, and the hallway.

"Fall back!" George shouted, pulling Emma towards the final defensive area.

Bullets rained through the walls, shattering glass and leaving pockmarked holes. Emma's bulletproof vest was damaged in several places, and George's right arm was grazed by a stray bullet, blood soaking through his sleeve.

Fortunately, George had anticipated this. He had worn black clothing to hide any bloodstains, worried that the sight of his blood would alarm Emma. The dark night further reduced visibility, preventing Emma from seeing the blood.

Two hours of fierce fighting had turned the villa into a battlefield shrouded in smoke. George's carefully laid plans crumbled under the pirates' relentless assault. They were pushed back to the villa's last defensive area, surrounded by rubble, spent shells, and bloodstains.

Black Shark suddenly heard Emma's voice and his eyes lit up.

He signaled the other pirates to cease fire temporarily and called out mockingly, "How about we make a deal? Hand over all your valuables and the woman, and we'll let you go. Otherwise, no one leaves here alive."

George tensed up, instinctively shielding Emma, who felt his back muscles trembling violently.

The surrounding battle seemed to freeze, waiting for George's response.

"How dare you want my woman?" George's voice was as cold as ice, each word filled with seething rage.

He raised his gun, eyes blazing with murderous intent. Just as he was about to pull the trigger, Eugene fired first, hitting George's left arm with precision.

The gunshot rang out, and George staggered back with a grunt. Warm blood spurted out, splattering Emma's face with a hot, crimson streak.

Emma, covered in blood, suddenly felt a sharp pain in her head. She clutched her head, her vision darkening, and finally collapsed to the ground.

"Emma!" George called out weakly, but he could no longer support himself.

The surrounding pirates laughed triumphantly, as if they could already see their final victory.
