Chapter 375 I Do

"Michael." She took a deep breath and nodded gently. "I will."

Michael's face lit up with a radiant smile. He carefully slipped the ring onto Emma's finger, then stood up and pulled her into a tight embrace.

"Emma, I promise to protect you for the rest of my life. I won't let anyone hurt you again," he whispered to Emma, his voice full of promise and deep affection.

Emma leaned against his shoulder, feeling the warmth of his embrace. A long-lost sense of security washed over her. Maybe this was the happiness she had been searching for.

The next morning, Michael took Emma to the most upscale bridal shop in the city center. The store was elegantly and luxuriously decorated, with wedding dresses of various styles displayed like works of art on the racks.

"Michael, aren't we rushing things?" Emma asked nervously. "We just got engaged. We can take our time with the wedding."

Michael gently held her hand and smiled. "No, Emma, I've been waiting for this day for a long time. Besides, I want to end all of this quickly so George can't bother you anymore."

Emma was slightly taken aback but then nodded. Indeed, if she could end things with George quickly, she would feel much more at ease.

"Actually," Michael said with a mysterious smile, "I have something I want to show you."

He signaled to the store clerk, who brought out a special wedding dress. It was a pure white gown with a long train, simple yet elegant in design. Tiny crystals adorned the bodice, sparkling like stars in the night sky. The skirt flowed like water, shimmering softly under the lights.

"What is this?" Emma asked in surprise, reaching out to touch the dress.

"This is something I've prepared for you a long time ago," Michael said softly, his eyes full of tenderness. "I've been waiting for this day, waiting for you to wear it and become my bride with your parents' blessings."

Emma's heart skipped a beat. "Michael, you've been preparing this for so long?"

Michael nodded. "In my heart, you've always been the one."

Emma was so moved that her eyes welled up with tears. She looked at the dress, feeling overwhelmed by Michael's thoughtfulness and deep affection.

"I want to try it on," she whispered.

Michael smiled and nodded, signaling the clerk to take Emma to the fitting room.

When she emerged wearing the dress, the entire store seemed to fall silent. The gown fit her perfectly, highlighting her elegant demeanor. It was as if she was born to wear it.

Michael stood there, his face full of awe and love. "Emma, you look stunning."

Emma stood in front of the mirror, looking at her reflection. For a moment, she felt a bit dazed. The woman in the mirror was beautiful and regal, like a princess. She was about to embark on a new life, one free from pain and deceit.

"Michael," Emma said softly, a happy smile spreading across her face. "I love this dress."

Michael stepped forward and gently embraced her, kissing her forehead tenderly. "Then tomorrow, you'll wear it and become my bride."

According to tradition, the bride and groom shouldn't see each other the night before the wedding. Although Emma didn't care much for these customs, Michael insisted on following them.

"Everything's gotta be perfect," Michael said with a smile. "I don't want anything to mess up our wedding."

As night fell, Emma returned to The Stuart Villa, while Michael went to his other residence. Before parting, Michael looked at her with deep affection. "Tomorrow, you'll be my wife. Emma, I love you."

Emma smiled and nodded, but a wave of inexplicable nervousness washed over her. Everything was happening so fast that it was almost too much for her to process. But whenever she thought of George's betrayal and deceit, she felt more certain of her decision.

As the night grew deeper, Emma stood by the window, watching Michael's figure disappear into the darkness. She gently closed the window and turned to look at the wedding dress she would wear the next day, her heart filled with mixed emotions. Tomorrow, she would become Michael's wife.

Meanwhile, in another part of the house, Sophia and Henry sat in the study, looking at the wedding invitation Michael had sent a few days ago. When they saw the invitation, they were momentarily at a loss for words.

"Henry, isn't this all too rushed?" Sophia asked softly, her fingers unconsciously tracing the edge of the invitation. "He proposed today, and they're getting married tomorrow."

Henry sighed and set down his cup. "It is a bit sudden. But Michael's feelings for Emma are genuine. He's been quietly protecting her all these years."

Sophia nodded, her eyes filled with complex emotions. "I know Michael is a good man. From the moment Emma married into the Russell family to her faking her death and going to Sunterra, if it weren't for Michael, we might never have had the chance to reunite with Emma. It's just..." She paused,. "It just feels strange, like something's off, but I can't put my finger on it."

Henry took Sophia's hand and gently reassured her. "Maybe it's just because we're not ready to let go of Emma. She's grown up and has the right to make her own choices."

"But her health..." Sophia frowned. "I'm worried she's making this decision because she lost her memory and forgot about George."

"Sophia, we've already lost Emma once. I don't want to go through that pain again. If Michael can make her happy and help her forget the past, then we should support her decision."

Sophia's eyes showed a hint of worry, but she nodded. "You're right. Emma's happiness is the most important thing. It's just all happening so suddenly. I need some time to adjust."

Three days ago, when Michael came to The Stuart Villa and formally proposed to Sophia and Henry, their reactions were very different.

Sophia's eyes widened in surprise. "A proposal? Michael, are you sure Emma is ready? What about George..."

"Mrs. Stuart, I understand your concerns. But Emma has had enough of George's hurt and deceit. I want to give her a fresh start, a future without pain and betrayal."

Henry felt a deep sense of gratitude. "Michael, I know how much you care for Emma. You've been quietly protecting her all these years, helping her escape her suffering. You are the perfect match for Emma."
