Chapter 129 Kidnapping

George hadn't seen Lucas this lively since he was a little kid. He couldn't pinpoint when Lucas started becoming so quiet and gloomy.

Lucas never called him Dad or got close to him, unlike other kids.

At first, George thought it was just Lucas's personality, but now he realized Lucas wasn't naturally distant. George wondered what Anna had done to him.

George suddenly remembered three years ago when Emma said Anna scratched Lucas's face, but no one believed her.

George couldn't help but feel a bit suspicious. He didn't want to think the worst. A mother shouldn't be so cruel to her own child.

That afternoon, Anna suddenly needed Lucas again and rushed to the hospital. When she got to his room, his bed was empty. She quickly found the nurse on duty, her voice urgent. "Excuse me, where's Lucas?"

The nurse looked up and replied, "You don't know? Ms. Stuart, Lucas has been transferred. Isabella handled the paperwork."

"Isabella? Why did she take my child?" Anna's voice shot up, her face pale, but inside she felt a twisted joy.

"I need to find my son now!" she almost shouted, her eyes flashing with anger. The nurse tried to calm her down. "Please, calm down. We'll contact the relevant personnel right away."

But Anna couldn't control herself. She turned and rushed out, heading straight for the hospital reception. Her heart raced, as she thought about Isabella's actions.

Keeping Lucas seemed like the right move, not just to frame Emma but also Isabella.

'Now I've got something on Isabella!' Anna thought.

"I must call the police! Isabella kidnapped my child!" she yelled at the reception, drawing strange looks from the nurses and patients around. But Anna had only one thought—Isabella must be put in jail.

She dialed George's number, her voice trembling, tears streaming down her face.

"George! Lucas is missing! Isabella took him! She'll definitely hurt him!" Her voice was filled with fear.

On the other end, George's heart tightened. He looked at Lucas, who was happily eating in front of him, and Isabella, who was smiling and wiping Lucas's mouth.

"I don't know why she took Lucas! She definitely has bad intentions!" Anna's voice was desperate. "George, Isabella is very cruel. She's good at disguising herself. I'm sure she'll hurt Lucas!"

"Shut up. Lucas is with me!" George's words instantly silenced Anna, and the police officers beside her were stunned.

So Anna called the police without knowing anything and falsely accused innocent Isabella.

The police officer picked up the radio and told his colleagues heading to Happy Hearts Kids Clinic, "Stop, it's a misunderstanding."

"How can it be a misunderstanding!" Anna grabbed the police officer's sleeve, shaking it. "Isabella took Lucas. This is kidnapping! You must arrest her and put her in jail!"

George heard everything Anna said.

"Are you done? Anna, I order you to go home now and stay there until the Russell Group's 50th anniversary celebration." George hung up the phone.

Anna collapsed to the ground. 'Why doesn't George believe me? It must be because Isabella seduced him! That bitch Isabella, I must tear her to pieces!' she fumed.

And just like that, the bizarre kidnapping case came to an end.

"Let's just clock out early and grab some dinner," the police officers said, gathering in small groups and heading back to the station. As they passed Anna, one of them gave her a sympathetic look. "Even the rich have it tough, driving people crazy."

The nurse nodded in agreement.

"You know nothing! You're just a bunch of lowly people who have never seen the splendor of the rich! You'll never have the chance in this life since you offended me. I'll make sure you never get rich!" Anna screamed, driven hysterical by George's words.

"Idiot," a police officer muttered as he walked away.

Although George had placed Anna under house arrest, he was too busy with work to keep an eye on her, so she still roamed freely.

She headed straight to Emma's store. Anna wanted to see if those pieces were worthy of her.

Anna walked into Emma's "Miss Lady" with a disdainful smile on her face. She scanned the surroundings. The store was neatly and exquisitely arranged, with various pieces of jewelry sparkling under the lights. To Anna, everything seemed imperfect.

"Why is the jewelry here so simple?" she said coldly, her tone dripping with criticism. She walked to a row of earrings, casually picked up a pair, examined them closely, and mocked, "This design is so ordinary, no creativity at all."

The store clerk, busy with other customers, looked up when she heard the voice. Seeing it was Anna, she felt nervous but still maintained a polite smile. "Welcome, Ms. Stuart. This is our latest collection. What do you think?"

"I think it's not worth the price!" Anna snapped, her tone full of disdain. She tossed the earrings back into the display case, making a crisp sound.

"Your materials are so inferior! I've seen similar products elsewhere with much better quality." She continued to criticize, her eyes finding fault with every piece of jewelry. She walked to a necklace, deliberately tugging at the chain. "This chain looks like it was just thrown together."

The store clerk tried to stay calm but felt a wave of irritation. "Ms. Stuart, our jewelry is carefully designed and selected."

"I don't want to waste my money!" Anna's voice rose, attracting the attention of nearby customers. Her face was full of dissatisfaction.

She continued to walk around, pointing at a bracelet and sneering. "This bracelet's design is terrible. I can't believe you would sell this."

Anna's unreasonable behavior left the store clerk at a loss. She tried to explain. "This bracelet is one of our classic pieces. Many customers love it."

"I think your customers have poor taste!" Anna retorted mercilessly, her tone full of sarcasm. It seemed that she wanted to negate every piece of jewelry.

The surrounding customers began to whisper, their eyes shifting between Anna and the store clerk.

"I think you need to reconsider your design philosophy," Anna finally said coldly, turning to leave.

'Emma isn't here today. How boring!' she thought.
