Chapter 266 Pregnancy

"Are you sure? Is your blood type compatible with hers?" the doctor asked, his voice tinged with doubt.

"Yeah, I know my blood type. I can help her," Emma replied, her eyes shining with determination. Despite not being close to Sophia, she couldn't stand to see her suffer.

After a brief hesitation, the doctor nodded. "Alright, let's check if you're a match."

A few tense moments later, the results came in confirming a successful blood type match. The doctor then said, "Let's get you prepped."

Emma quickly changed into scrubs and followed the doctor into the transfusion room. Her heart pounded with anxiety, but her concern for Sophia overpowered her fear.

Even though she and Sophia had their differences, Emma did her best to save Sophia.

Lying on the transfusion bed, Emma watched as the doctor began drawing her blood. The crimson liquid slowly filled the transfusion bag.

Soon, Emma's blood was being transferred into Sophia's body. The doctors monitored Sophia's vital signs closely. As the blood flowed into her veins, her complexion gradually regained some color, and her heartbeat steadied.

"She's improving," the doctor sighed in relief, silently grateful.

Emma waited quietly outside the transfusion room. Hearing the doctor's words, she finally allowed herself to relax and fainted.

Her body had endured immense stress, and the loss of blood had drained her energy. As she lost consciousness, memories of her conflicts with Sophia flashed through her mind, filling her with a whirlwind of emotions.

When she woke up, she found herself lying in a hospital bed. She struggled to open her eyes and saw George and Henry by her side, their faces full of concern.

It made sense for George to be here, but why was Henry here? Shouldn't he be with Sophia?

"You're finally awake," Henry was the first to speak, surprising Emma. She tried to sit up but felt a wave of weakness wash over her, her body feeling utterly depleted.

Most people donate a maximum of 400 milliliters of blood, but Emma had given 600 milliliters. If her body hadn't given out, she wouldn't have let the nurse stop.

Henry had witnessed the entire process. He was astonished. He and Sophia had been so harsh to Isabella, yet she had given everything to save Sophia.

And then he heard another shocking piece of news from the nurse. Years ago, it was Emma who had donated blood to save Sophia, not their daughter Anna.

Anna had not only refused to donate but had also stolen Emma's credit, making everyone believe it was Anna who saved Sophia. They had treated Emma, the true savior, with nothing but scorn.

What had they done?

"Thank you, Ms. Taylor," Henry said, his face flushed; he didn't know how to express his gratitude for such a significant act.

A simple thank you was far from enough.

Emma smiled faintly and shook her head. "It's nothing. I just did what I had to do."

Henry and George were puzzled by her words. Why would Isabella say that?

Henry wasn't willing to accept Isabella's kindness without reciprocating. "You saved Sophia's life. If you ever need anything, just say the word. Sophia and I will do whatever we can."

"Really?" Emma looked at Henry with a smirk. "What if I asked you to kick Anna out of the house? Would you do it?"

Henry's brow furrowed deeply. "Anna has already faced her punishment. She spent time in prison, was sentenced to death, and now she's perished in a fire. Can you let go of your grudge?"

Emma didn't believe that Anna had set the fire herself; Anna wouldn't be foolish enough to get caught in it and must have escaped.

But whether she could truly get away depended on Emma's own choices.

Emma just smiled and remained silent. She had no desire to play happy families with Henry and Sophia, who had abandoned her. Even if they turned their backs on Anna and chose her, Emma wasn't interested.

Emma closed her eyes, signaling she wanted them to leave. Henry understood and was about to go when Billy walked in. Seeing Emma awake, he sighed in relief and approached her bed.

"Please, everyone who isn't necessary, leave the room. She needs rest," Billy said sternly.

Emma smiled. "Thank you, Dr. Richardson, but I'll be fine after some rest."

Billy shook his head, his expression growing more serious. "If I had known about your condition, I would never have allowed you to donate blood. Ms. Taylor, you're pregnant. Letting a pregnant woman donate blood could ruin my career and endanger your baby. You were incredibly irresponsible."

Billy shot Henry a sharp look. If it weren't for the mess Anna caused, Emma wouldn't have had to donate blood. Henry's face reddened with guilt. "I'm sorry; I didn't know."

Billy said angrily,"If apologies were enough, we wouldn't need the police."

Henry was at a loss for words.

Billy continued, "Alright, just go. Your wife is awake. Go see her and stop bothering others."

"Thank you, Dr. Richardson. Ms. Taylor, if you need anything, don't hesitate to ask. I'll do whatever I can."

After Henry left, Billy performed a basic check-up on Emma. Once they were alone, George sat by her bed, holding her hand with a mix of tenderness and excitement. "Pregnant? It's our baby."

Emma nodded shyly. "Our baby." She lowered her eyes, hiding the scheming glint in them.

A month ago, she had stayed at George's house, drugged him, and created the illusion they had sex together.
