Chapter 64 Take Her Away!

Emma's heart did a double take, a cocktail of anger and confusion bubbling up inside her. She just couldn't wrap her head around why Anna had it out for Lucas so bad.

Anna was so hell-bent on framing her that she didn't give a damn about Lucas's safety, even wishing he'd kick the bucket! Was this something a mother would have done?

Emma couldn't hold back her boiling rage and stormed out from the doorway.

"What the hell are you talking about?" Emma snapped, stepping out from the emergency exit and marching up to Anna, slapping her hard.

"You!" Anna was floored, shock and anger flashing in her eyes. "How did you get here?!"

"Anna! Not only did you slice up Lucas's face with your own hands, but you had the nerve to wish him dead! How can someone as twisted as you even exist?"

Anna's face contorted into something ugly. "Bitch! How dare you hit me!"

Right then, Anna's phone buzzed. She got a message and a sinister grin spread across her face. Emma knew that look all too well; Anna was up to no good again.

Anna let her hair down, running her hands through it like a maniac, pretending to be all distressed. She covered her face like she was in pain and bolted out, crashing straight into George's arms.

"George!" Anna wailed, her voice dripping with despair. "Emma wants to kill me! George, help!"

Anna collapsed to the ground just right. With her clothes all messed up and hair in disarray, she looked up at Emma with terror, like a scared little deer.

Tears streamed down her face, hanging there like sad little raindrops.

George's face went dark, his eyes blazing with anger, his trust in Emma crumbling yet again. Seeing Anna's wrecked state filled him with rage. He turned, his gaze icy as it landed on Emma.

Same old trick, and George bought it hook, line, and sinker.

Everyone looked at Emma with disdain and suspicion. She was used to those looks by now, but she still couldn't get over the murderous glare George gave her.

It was the face she loved so much, but it no longer had the gentle lines she remembered.

"Emma!"

George's cold eyes cut through Emma like a knife, spitting out her name with a ferocity that made her shiver.

Emma felt like this time, George really wanted to kill her!

Anna was still crying in George's arms, her tearful eyes locked on Emma. "Emma, I'm begging you. Please let me go! Stop doing bad things. Do you remember how Douglas and your child died?"

Child? Douglas? How did Anna dare to mention them?

Emma was livid, her body surging with newfound strength.

She swung a punch at Anna, landing it square on her face. Anna screamed in pain, her face twisting instantly.

"You crazy bitch!" Anna covered her face, her eyes flashing with anger and disbelief, like she couldn't believe Emma would fight back so fiercely.

Seeing this, George rushed forward, struggling to pull Emma away and protect Anna. "How can you do this to her?"

"You dare mention my grandfather and my child! Anna, why wasn't it you who died! You are the one who deserves to die the most!" Emma shot back, her voice thick with grief and anger. But George didn't care at all, turning to shield Anna behind him.

"Emma, I'm gonna make you wish you were never born!" George spat out coldly, then kicked her into the corner.

Emma slammed into the wall, pain shooting through her body, leaving her unable to stand.

Despair washed over her as she watched George protect Anna and walk away. Her body was wracked with pain, trembling all over, like she didn't even have the strength to get up.

George held the sobbing Anna and turned to leave. Before he did, he shot Emma a look that felt like a poison-tipped dagger straight to her heart.

The onlookers stared at her with disdain, whispering among themselves. Emma felt a mix of shame and anger, finally dragging herself out of the hospital in despair.

She stumbled out, every step a new wave of agony, especially from the tumor inside her. She fumbled for painkillers in her bag, just about to take one when a black car screeched to a stop in front of her.

A bodyguard in black kicked the bottle out of her hand, sending pills scattering everywhere.

"Who the hell are you?" Emma asked, terror in her voice.

She struggled, each movement making the pain worse.

The bodyguard didn't answer, just yanked her into the black car. The door slammed shut, and Emma's heart pounded with fear and uncertainty, clueless about where she was being taken.

"Let me go! What do you want?" Emma fought desperately, but the bodyguard held her down, making it impossible to move.

She looked up and saw George's cold, stern face. He wore a black coat, radiating a chilling aura full of hostility.

George extended his hand, and the bodyguard handed him the bottle of painkillers he had kicked away earlier.

Seeing it was painkillers, he sneered. "Emma, you in pain? Did you think about their pain when you hurt Lucas and bullied Anna?"

The car window rolled down, and he tossed the painkillers out, like he was throwing away her last hope. She could barely breathe.

"Drive," he ordered, and the car sped away from the hospital, disappearing from sight.

Inside the car, Emma's heart was a storm of despair and fear. She had no idea what was coming and could only pray silently, hoping for a chance to escape.

But as the road became more familiar, Emma's nerves tightened.

"George, why did you bring me here?"

George got out of the car slowly, then ordered the bodyguard to drag Emma out. She hit the damp ground hard, pain shooting through her so bad she couldn't walk. The bodyguard dragged her forward.

They stopped in front of two fresh graves, where Douglas and her dead child were buried. Emma clutched her side, trying to ease the pain. She took a deep breath, enduring the agony, and asked through gritted teeth, "Why?"

Tears blurred her vision as she looked at George, her eyes vacant.

George bent down, his cool fingers lifting Emma's chin. His eyes held a terrifying hint of a smile.

"To let you know what real pain feels like."
