Chapter 119 Visiting Emma's Own Grave

But when he rounded that corner, there was Mia, drink in hand, waiting for him. From that moment, Kirk was hooked on Mia.

At first, Mia thought Kirk was just an average guy with his plain clothes. But once they started dating for real, Kirk came clean that he was the son of a big-shot official.

Even though Mia wasn't keen on dating someone rich, she couldn't walk away from Kirk.

Kirk was nothing like George; he was a genuinely good guy. He wasn't just thoughtful towards Mia, he also helped out Emma a ton. For example, the successful opening of the 1 Crystal Street Store was mostly thanks to Kirk.

On the phone, Kirk thought he heard Emma's voice.

"Is Emma asking you out for dinner? Do you need me to take you there?" Kirk always had a lot of respect for Emma. If it wasn't for Emma putting in a good word for him back then, Mia might not have agreed to date him.

Mia smiled sweetly, "No need, I'll drive myself. Emma, where should we meet?"

Emma replied, "Let's meet at Dreamscape Peak."

Hearing that, Mia guessed Emma must be upset about something again. She quickly drove to Dreamscape Peak.

When Mia got there, Emma was sitting by the sea, quietly watching the waves.

Mia walked over and stood silently beside her, just being there.

The clear seawater crashed against the rocks on the cliff, creating layers of dense foam, just like her love.

Mia asked, "Emma, how's your store?"

"Not bad, I hit a little snag, but it got sorted out. I even made a big profit." Emma smiled brightly, "Come on, Mia, I'll take you to a cool place. Bet you can't guess where."

Emma's words got Mia curious. They chatted and laughed all the way to the cemetery. Mia was a bit puzzled.

She asked, "Who's buried here?"

Emma replied, "Me."

Mia thought she misheard. She looked at Emma in disbelief.

After a moment, she remembered that to everyone else, Emma had been dead for three years. The existence of a grave wasn't so far-fetched. "Since we're here, let's have a look."

Mia's suggestion was exactly what Emma wanted.

They wandered around like they were in a park, looking around. Finally, they found the tombstone with Emma's name on it.

This spotless grave was obviously well-maintained. Fresh roses lay in front of the tombstone, their dew-kissed petals unwilted, indicating someone came to replace them daily.

Emma chuckled; she really couldn't think of anyone. Those who were close to her knew she wasn't dead. And those who weren't close to her wouldn't be so kind.

As Emma and Mia were discussing who did this, they saw an elderly woman with graying hair approaching from a distance.

Her figure was slightly hunched, as she held a photo in her hand, her face full of malice.

Emma quickly picked up a bouquet of roses from her grave and pulled Mia to another tombstone nearby.

Then they turned their backs to the old woman, so she couldn't see their faces. The old woman shuffled along, her legs clearly giving her trouble. But she still lugged a bucket of some liquid, inching forward.

As she got closer, a strong smell of blood hit them. But the two pretended not to notice.

The old woman didn't seem to care about the people around. She lifted the bucket and poured it out. Thick blood splashed all over the tombstone.

"Emma, you killed my Molly. Even in death, you won't have peace!" the old woman screamed at the tombstone.

She looked like she wanted to crawl into the grave and grind Emma's bones to dust. In fact, she indeed picked up a big hammer, ready to smash the tombstone to pieces.

Two security guards rushed in from a distance, quickly restraining the old woman and skillfully escorting her away. Then a cleaner came to tidy up the tombstone.

Emma and Mia were stunned by this whole scene. They had no idea Emma had such an enemy.

Emma asked, "Who is she?"

Mia was just as confused. "I don't know. But she mentioned Molly. What's her deal with Molly?"

Emma and Mia couldn't figure it out, so they dropped it. They had a bigger event to plan—ruining Anna's birthday party and stopping George's proposal.

"Emma," Mia hesitated. "I need to ask you something again."

"Go ahead."

"Have you really forgotten George? Are you trying to make him fall for you again by ruining his proposal?"

Emma looked at Mia straight on.

"Don't worry. The old Emma is buried here." She pointed to the tombstone beside her. "I'm Isabella now. Those romantic feelings mean nothing to me. I just want to avenge my child and make them all suffer like I did."

With Emma's promise, Mia felt relieved. Emma had been through so much; Mia really didn't want to see her hurt by George again.

"Alright, then let's go all out. We'll give Anna a taste of her own medicine." Mia declared loudly.

Time flew by, and soon it was Anna's birthday party.

The luxurious banquet hall looked like something out of a dream.

Colorful balloons hung from the center of the hall, surrounded by beautiful floral arrangements. The scent of fresh flowers filled the air.

The long banquet table was covered with a white tablecloth, loaded with all sorts of fancy foods—colorful pastries, tempting fruit platters, and a variety of drinks, making everyone's mouth water.

The guests were all high society members of Lakeside Haven. Today's mission was to wish Anna a happy birthday.

Whether they meant it or not, everyone wore joyful smiles, as if the whole world was celebrating Anna's birthday.

Anna wore a stunning long dress, paired with exquisite jewelry, looking particularly elegant and charming.

Her long hair draped over her shoulders, slightly curled, giving off a faint fragrance with every gentle sway.

At this moment, she was like a princess, standing in the center of the banquet, receiving blessings and praises from friends and family.

"Anna, happy birthday!" One blessing after another fell like snowflakes.

Anna responded to each blessing with a gentle and kind smile, but inside she was going crazy with anxiety.
