Chapter 90 Blinded

In the office, George was still daydreaming about his intimate moments with Emma, totally clueless about what was coming his way. Anna quietly shut the door, her smile turning wicked. Feeling pretty pleased with herself, she was all set to head to Harmony Health Institute to put her plan into action.

"George, you're so gullible," she muttered, her eyes glinting with malice. "You really think I can just get along with Emma? No way!"

Anna strolled into Harmony Health Institute.

"I'm here to see my cousin, Emma," she said to the nurse with a polite smile. "Can you tell me which room she's in?"

"Sorry, ma'am, hospital policy doesn't allow strangers to visit patients," the nurse replied, not budging.

"I'm not a stranger."

"Do you have a visitor's pass?" the nurse asked.

"No."

The nurse shook her head firmly, "Sorry, ma'am, no pass, no visit. Please don't make this hard for me. Or you can contact the patient and have them register you at the front desk, then you can come in."

"Never mind then. My cousin's still sick, and I shouldn't disturb her rest. I'll come another day." Anna made up an excuse and left. As she walked out, she couldn't help but curse, knowing it must have been Ethan who found this hospital for Emma.

With such tight security, kidnapping Emma was out of the question.

Standing outside the inpatient building, Anna looked around and spotted a nurse passing by. She decided to make her move.

"Excuse me!" Anna called out to the nurse, flashing a sweet smile. The nurse stopped, looking puzzled.

"I need a small favor," Anna said, smiling as she pulled out a wad of cash and waved it a bit to catch the nurse's eye.

The nurse hesitated for a moment, but the sight of the cash made her reconsider.

"What do you want me to do? I won't do anything illegal." asked the nurse.

"I'd really appreciate it if you could deliver this letter to Emma in the inpatient department," Anna said, slipping the cash into the nurse's big pocket.

The nurse thought for a moment, then nodded and agreed. Anna felt a rush of excitement, knowing her plan was moving forward.

"Thank you!" Anna said with a smile, watching the nurse walk away.

In the park below the hospital, sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting dappled shadows. Anna felt a surge of pride because she knew her plan was about to pay off. Meanwhile, her bodyguard approached quietly, his eyes cold and calculating.

"Is everything ready?"

"All set," the bodyguard said, lifting the bag in his hand.

Anna nodded, feeling secretly pleased, 'Emma, with your weakness in my hands, I doubt you'll meet me!'

About ten minutes later, a hurried figure appeared in the garden below. "Anna, where did you take my grandfather's ashes?"

"Guess," Anna sneered, nodding towards the bodyguard, who was holding a heavy-looking package.

"Give it to me!" Emma shouted, trying to grab the package.

But the bodyguard saw it coming. He tightened his grip on the package and blocked her without a second thought.

"You really think you can just take this from me?" he sneered, his eyes full of contempt.

Emma lost her balance and hit the ground hard. Pain shot through her wrist—probably a fracture.

"Why? I've already divorced George. Why won't you leave me alone?" Emma's voice was desperate.

Anna stood there, smiling wickedly.

"This is what happens when you don't play nice. Take her away," Anna ordered coldly. The bodyguard grabbed Emma and dragged her to a car.

They drove to an abandoned factory, dark, damp, and desolate.

Anna slowly approached Emma, her eyes gleaming with madness.

"George thinks just divorcing you is too easy," Anna said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "So, he asked me to do something else."

"What?" Emma, bound and helpless, couldn't guess Anna's next move.

"Give it to me," Anna gestured to the bodyguard. "I want to do it myself."

Her voice was icy as she took a sharp knife from the bodyguard. Without hesitation, she slashed at Emma's eyes. The pain was immediate, and Emma's screams echoed through the empty factory, drowned out by Anna's madness.

"Now, you can't see this world anymore," Anna said coldly, feeling triumphant.

With Emma's blindness, Anna felt a rush of euphoria. She turned to the urn nearby and smashed it, scattering Douglas's ashes everywhere.

The ashes floated in the air, a sad, white powder telling a story of endless sorrow.

"Look, Douglas's ashes are being blown away by the wind," Anna said, bending down and looking coldly at Emma, whose face was covered in blood. "Oh, right, you can't see now."

The world turned red, then everything went dark. Emma was completely blind.

But she still tried to reach out, trembling as she searched the ground for the scattered ashes. The ground was covered with tiny fragments mixed with white powder. None of this could be seen by Emma.

"Grandpa, I'm here to find you," she whispered.

Her fingers roamed the ground, trying to feel the fine particles, but the darkness made it impossible to distinguish.

She felt a glimmer of hope when she touched some fine powder. But she didn't realize her hand had been cut by the fragments, blood flowing down her fingers, mixing with the ashes. Despite the pain, she refused to stop.

Her arm moved across the ground, trying to gather the ashes and dust, but the fragments of the urn cut her skin, blood continuously flowing, staining her hands red.

"Grandpa..." Emma's voice was filled with helplessness, tears mixed with blood streaming down. All she felt was cold and despair.
