Chapter 405 Video

Phoenix was freaking out, even though she tried to look calm. "George, what are you talking about? How could I be hiding anything? I just don't want to see Phoenix get hurt!"

George shot her a cold look, his voice icy. "The truth will come out soon enough. If Phoenix is innocent, she'll be fine. But if she's done something, no one can protect her."

Phoenix's heart sank. She knew arguing more would just make things worse, so she stayed quiet.

There was no point in arguing anymore.

Whether the video was real or fake, the police needed to investigate further.

After the police left with the USB drive, Phoenix thought about pretending to be Scarlett and offering to take care of Charles. But under George's terrifying gaze, she chickened out. Jack pulled Phoenix away, and they slunk back to their tiny apartment.

Phoenix was a mess. She was scared that the truth about her sneaking back into the country would come out, and she was furious that Emma had ruined her plan. As soon as she walked through the door, her phone started blowing up with calls from reporters.

The headlines were everywhere, and they stung her eyes. #Scarlett's Despicable Character: Deliberately Framing Daughter-in-Law Emma.

In a fit of rage, she threw her phone to the ground and cursed through gritted teeth, "Emma, you bitch! I won't let you get away with this! Just you wait!"

Meanwhile, Sophia was at home, nearly smashing the TV in anger when she saw the news.

She couldn't believe Scarlett's shamelessness—not only framing Emma but also defending that scoundrel Phoenix. Shaking with rage, Sophia couldn't sit still any longer. She got up, ready to confront Scarlett.

Henry quickly tried to stop her. "Sophia, calm down!"

Sophia shook him off, her voice filled with anger. "Calm down? Emma's being bullied like this, and you want me to calm down?"

"I'm not saying don't go, just don't go alone. Take some people with you," Henry explained helplessly.

Sophia realized she had misunderstood Henry, but there was no time for explanations. She planted a quick kiss on his cheek and stormed out with a group of people.

Sophia barged into Scarlett's small apartment, kicking the door open with a murderous look in her eyes. Scarlett and Jack were startled by her sudden arrival, but before they could react, Sophia spoke coldly. "Scarlett, do you have any shame?"

Phoenix's face stiffened, but she forced herself to stay calm and muster a fake smile. "Sophia, let me explain. It's not what you think! Emma is framing Phoenix, the video is fake!"

"Fake? Are you kidding me? The video is clear as day, and you still want to argue? I'm warning you, from now on, behave yourself and stop messing with Emma! Otherwise, don't blame me for being ruthless! Don't think I don't know that your husband is using the Stuart Group's name to do business. I endured you out of respect for George and Emma. But you, Scarlett, have gone too far! From now on, the Stuart family and your family are enemies!"

Phoenix was overwhelmed by Sophia's imposing manner, feeling both angry and scared, but she managed to say, "Sophia, how can you be so biased towards Emma?"

Sophia cut her off immediately. "Biased? Emma is my daughter. If I don't stand by her, who will? And I know what kind of person she is better than you do! People like you only bring disgrace to the Russell family! I'll say it one more time: stop causing trouble, or face the consequences!"

With that, Sophia waved her hand, and the people she brought started smashing things. The room was filled with the sound of destruction. Phoenix and Jack were too scared to say a word, watching helplessly as their small apartment was trashed.

Phoenix was seething with anger, but she had no choice but to swallow her pride in the face of Sophia's dominance.

Sophia gave her one last cold look before turning to leave, leaving them standing amidst the wreckage.

As soon as Sophia left, Jack turned on Phoenix, yelling, "Look at what you've done! Now the whole internet is cursing us, and my reputation is ruined because of you!"

Phoenix, already furious, snapped back, "How dare you blame me? Didn't you testify too? Now that things have gone wrong, it's all my fault?"

Jack's face turned livid with anger as he pointed at her. "I testified to help you! You acted recklessly and planned poorly, and now you blame me for helping? If you hadn't acted on your own, would things have turned out this way?"

"Jack, don't pretend to be a good guy! Tell me, when I asked you to take photos of Emma cheating, what were you doing? Hiding?"

"I got caught by the villa's security system!"

"You're lying. I didn't hear a sound."

"That system catches people without an alarm. I was locked up for two days! If the system hadn't malfunctioned, I would have starved to death in George's damn villa! As soon as I got out and heard you were suing Emma, I rushed to help you, and now I'm being blamed! Sophia was right; you're shameless!"

Phoenix finally looked at Jack's face and noticed he had indeed lost weight, indicating he had suffered in the past few days.

But that didn't give Jack the right to join Sophia in berating her!

"Jack, don't forget, we're in this together! If I go down, you won't have it easy either!"

The two continued to argue, their fight escalating until they parted on bad terms. Scarlett collapsed on the couch, feeling both furious and powerless.

Things had spiraled out of control, while Emma remained unscathed.

Meanwhile, Emma and George had returned home. George gently held her hand, his voice tender enough to melt anything. "Emma, I'm sorry you had to go through that today."

Emma smiled softly and shook her head. "It's okay. The truth is out, and that's what matters. But Scarlett and Jack won't give up easily. We need to be careful. And Grandpa's health..." She couldn't help but sigh.
