Chapter 325 Reclaiming The Russell Mansion

"Emma, you're too kind-hearted to see through George's tricks," Michael said, holding her gently.

Emma asked, "Tricks? What tricks?"

"As long as you don't divorce him, all your assets are still joint property. George probably doesn't know yet that you've transferred the Russell Group shares to me. He still thinks you have them. As long as you're married, he has a claim to those shares. And Miss Lady, the company you built from scratch, would also be his."

Michael's words were so convincing that Emma couldn't help but believe him a little.

Seeing her lingering doubt, Michael pressed on, "Emma, trust me, men are the most pragmatic creatures. They calculate every benefit and choose what's best for them. I'm a man, so I understand him."

Though something still felt off, Emma was now mostly convinced.

Michael gently stroked Emma's wrist, applying ointment. The cool balm eased the sting and soothed her discomfort.

The swelling on her wrist only deepened Emma's trust in Michael's words.

If George loved her, how could he bear to see her hurt?

Michael's care was what true love looked like.

"Emma, George is losing it. I'm afraid he might do something extreme. Let me handle the divorce."

"Okay." Emma nodded.

The Russell Mansion's grand hall was tense, the atmosphere suffocating. Michael, dressed in a black suit, exuded an undeniable authority. He held a document, casting a cold glance at George, who sat at the head of the room.

George's face was dark, his eyes fixed on the document in Michael's hand. His fingers gripped the armrest, knuckles white, barely containing his anger.

"George," Michael tossed the document onto the table, his tone icy, "This is Emma's divorce agreement. She's already signed it. Now it's your turn."

George's eyes flickered with pain as he looked at the agreement, but he quickly masked it with a hard expression. He didn't reach for it, instead saying coldly, "I won't sign."

Michael sneered, "George, what are you holding on to? Emma doesn't love you anymore. She just wants to be free of you. The more you cling, the more she'll despise you."

George's gaze was like a knife as he stared at Michael. "She's my wife. I won't divorce her."

Michael's face turned cold. He stepped closer, looking down at George. "If you won't sign, don't blame me for being ruthless. George, you have two choices: sign the divorce papers or move out of the Russell Mansion."

Scarlett's face turned pale when she heard the word "divorce."

What had she just heard?

Three years ago, hadn't that bitch Emma already divorced George?

Why was there talk of divorce now?

What was going on that she didn't know about?

She jumped up, pointing at Michael and shouting angrily, "Michael, stop spouting nonsense! That bitch Emma left the Russell family long ago! I wish she were dead! How dare she have anything to do with the Russell family?"

Michael gave Scarlett a cold look, "If I hear one more word against Emma from you, you'll be out on the street."

Scarlett trembled with rage, pointing at Michael and yelling, "You're siding with that woman against George? Michael, are you even part of the Russell family?"

"The Russell family? Ever since my parents were killed by you people, I haven't been part of the Russell family!" Michael glanced at the silent George. "You despise Emma, yet your son clings to her, refusing to sign the divorce papers. You'd better keep a firm hold on your own son."

Scarlett's face turned livid. She looked at George, "George, did you hear that? That woman wants nothing to do with you! She's a bitch. Marrying into the Russell family was her good fortune, and now she dares to scorn us? Why are you still holding on to her?"

George's face was dark, his gaze complicated as he looked at Scarlett. "Mom, enough."

"Enough?" Scarlett slapped her thigh in anger. "George, are you crazy? For that woman, you're throwing away the Russell family's dignity? She doesn't deserve to step foot in our family! Sign the papers now!"

Michael watched the scene coldly, his tone dripping with sarcasm, "Scarlett, you keep saying Emma isn't worthy, but have you ever thought about who really isn't worthy? Emma wants the divorce, but your precious son won't let go!"

Scarlett, furious, pointed at Michael, her voice sharp, "Michael, you are talking nonsense! That woman is no good! Everyone in Lakeside Haven knows how much George hates her! George, sign the papers! Divorce her! Now!"

George and Michael ignored Scarlett's outburst. Michael pulled another document from his briefcase and threw it on the table.

"If you don't want to talk about the divorce, let's talk about the Russell Mansion."

George's brow furrowed slightly as he looked at the document. "Michael, what do you mean?"

Michael's tone was full of contempt, "The Russell Mansion was mortgaged to my company months ago to cover a financial shortfall. It no longer belongs to the Russell family. It belongs to me."

Scarlett's face turned pale as she asked, "George, is this true? You mortgaged the Russell Mansion?"

George was silent for a moment before he spoke, "Yes, I mortgaged the Russell Mansion."

Scarlett's voice rose, "Are you insane? The Russell Mansion is your grandfather's legacy, the foundation of the Russell family! How could you mortgage it?"

George looked up, his eyes weary and resigned. "The company was in trouble, the cash flow was cut off. If we didn't get funds quickly, the entire Russell Group would collapse. I had no choice but to mortgage the mansion to save the company."

"George, how dare you risk the family's foundation.! But you lost."

"I didn't lose. The mortgage is temporary. I'll find a way to redeem it." George stared at Michael, "And the Russell Group too. I'll get it back."

"Redeem it? George, with what? You can't even keep your marriage together, and you think you can save the mansion and the company?" Michael clapped his hands, and a dozen bodyguards rushed in.

"The choice is yours: leave voluntarily or be expelled by me." Michael looked down at George, "Or you can stay, if you sign the divorce papers."
