Chapter 190 A Tender Approach

Anna accidentally found out that George was staying in the same hospital. She heard that George was severely injured and couldn't even get out of bed. Even if she cried and made a fuss, George wouldn't be able to come to see her. She gave up on using threats.

This time, she planned to take a tender approach.

George, being sick, must be especially vulnerable, so she decided to take on the responsibility of caring for him. However, George didn't want to see her at all.

Anna stood at the door of the hospital room, holding a bouquet of flowers. She gently pushed the door open and was about to walk in when George's assistant, Joshua, stopped her.

"Ms. Stuart, you can't go in," Joshua said, a hint of caution in his eyes.

He had watched Isabella's entire live stream and knew that the slander incident, as well as the bullying episode, was all orchestrated by Anna. so he wished for Anna to keep away from George.

The closer Anna got, the more unfortunate George became.

Ever since George divorced Emma and got engaged to Anna, nothing good had happened.

"Why? I just want to take care of him!" Anna's voice trembled slightly.

"Mr. Russell needs rest right now. He doesn't want to see anyone," Joshua responded mercilessly.

"I don't care! I have to go in!" Anna's emotions instantly spiraled out of control. She pushed Joshua, trying to force her way into the room.

But he stood there like a tower, firmly blocking the door, allowing no one to enter.

"George, I'm here to see you. Please let me in! Do you despise me because I was raped? If you despise me, I'll leave immediately!"

Anna pulled out a small dagger from her pocket and threw it to the ground, startling Joshua. He quickly stepped on the dagger, preventing Anna from picking it up.

This was exactly the reaction Anna wanted. She crouched down, struggling with Joshua for the dagger.

"Give me the knife! I was raped, so I can't go on living! Even George has abandoned me, what's the point of living?"

Anna didn't put much strength into her hands. She pretended to struggle for the knife a few times before giving up, kneeling on the ground and wailing.

"George, I know I'm not worthy of you anymore. I just want to see you one last time before I die! Do you remember our childhood promise? You said you would take care of me for a lifetime. Why are you breaking your promise?" Anna's accusations hit George's heart one by one. He said in a low voice, "Let her in."

With George's words, Joshua had no choice but to step aside. Anna entered the room, and when she saw George's cold gaze sweep over her, she felt a sharp pain in her heart.

She approached the bed, wanting to hold his hand, but George indifferently avoided her.

"Now that you've seen me; you can leave," he said in a low, impatient voice.

"Why? I just want to take care of you," Anna was on the verge of tears.

"There's no need," George's eyes flashed with disgust, as if her presence made him uncomfortable.

Anna's heart was instantly pierced, tears welling up in her eyes. Her voice became agitated, "George, how can you treat me like this? I've done so much for you, and you won't even give me a chance to take care of you!"

"Did you kidnap and slander Isabella? Why spread rumors about her? Why do you bully those innocent students?" George asked coldly, ruthlessly exposing her facade.

"I didn't! Isabella framed me! If I really did those things, why haven't the police arrested me?" Anna vehemently denied it.

"Whether you did it or not, you know best yourself!" George said indifferently.

She clenched her fists tightly, tears streaming down her face. She shouted angrily at him, "I'm innocent! You have no idea how much I love you! I just want to be by your side. Why can't you give me that chance?"

The atmosphere in the room instantly froze. Anna's emotions were like a flood, uncontrollable.

She rushed to George's bedside, grabbing his wrist, her eyes filled with despair and anger. "Why are you doing this to me? I don't care who you love. I just want to be with you. Why can't you let me get close?"

George's expression changed slightly, a complex emotion flashing in his eyes. But he remained indifferent, his tone slightly softened, "Anna, let go of me!"

"I won't!" Anna's voice was high-pitched and desperate, as if she wanted to vent all her grievances and anger. Her emotions were out of control, and she started making a scene in the room, attracting the attention of the nearby nurses.

"Did you all hear that? I gave everything for him, and this is the coldness I get in return!" Her voice echoed in the room.

The nurses came in, trying to calm her down, but Anna was on the verge of a breakdown, tears streaming down her face, her heart filled with a complex mix of love and hatred for George.

She had clearly taken over Emily's identity. Why was George still treating her like this?

She couldn't accept it!

Meanwhile, George stood by, expressionless, watching everything unfold, a wave of indescribable pain surging in his heart.

He knew he couldn't let Anna get close again, but he also couldn't ignore her feelings. After all, she was Emily!

Just as Anna was losing control and the nurses were trying their best to calm her down, Emma walked in the room. She was holding a USB drive, a faint smile on her face, seemingly satisfied with Anna's hysteria.

Emma thought, 'Anna, so you can go crazy in front of George too. Love really does make people blind. I lost love and regained my sanity. Congratulations! you've successfully turned into a madwoman.'

"George, I'm here to see you," Emma deliberately called out George's name in her gentlest voice.

Sure enough, it infuriated the already irrational Anna.

"How dare you call George like that! Get out!" Anna was now furious with Emma.

At this moment, George and Emma, with great tacit understanding, both ignored her. They didn't look at her but focused on each other.

"Why are you here?" George's brows furrowed slightly, but his eyes showed concern. Clearly, he was relieved by her arrival. "Are your injuries healed?"

"Don't worry; I'm fine." Emma was intentionally close to George in front of Anna. She sat by George's bed, holding his hand, gently stroking the bandage on his arm. "Does it still hurt? It's all my fault. If I hadn't been accidentally kidnapped, you wouldn't have been so badly injured."

As she spoke, crystal-clear tears involuntarily fell. In an instant, her beauty was accentuated by this tenderness, making her even more captivating.
