Chapter 244 Revenge
This wasn't Emma's first time at The Stuart Villa.
The last time she was here, it was for Molly's birthday party. She had been invited by Sophia, but thanks to Anna's lies, the Stuart family had banded together to kick her out. What would she experience at The Stuart Villa this time? Surely, she wouldn't be thrown out again.
Lyanna's heart was also in turmoil. She had always believed that Isabella was Emma, and that Emma was the one who killed her daughter, Molly. She wanted revenge for Molly, wanted to see Isabella dead, but had never had the chance.
Now, the opportunity had arrived!
Lyanna smiled sinisterly from the shadows. She wouldn't let anyone who had a hand in Molly's death get away.
Today would be Isabella's last day!
After the food was served, Lyanna left.
In the cozy dining room, Emma, Sophia, and Henry sat around a table laden with a feast. The atmosphere was initially very pleasant. The three of them chatted about fun times at the amusement park, laughter filling the room, making everything seem perfect.
However, as dinner progressed, Sophia's tone gradually became more serious.
She looked at Emma, worry evident in her eyes, and finally mustered the courage to ask, "Isabella, we've already been to the amusement park today, so what are the other two conditions?"
"The other two, I haven't decided yet." Emma's smile faded instantly.
Of course, today's happiness was just borrowed. Damn blood ties.
Sophia didn't have any real feelings for her. If it weren't for Anna, Sophia would probably have already shown her the door.
Emma's heart turned cold. Clearly, they and Anna were the real family.
"And the letter of forgiveness..." Sophia said.
Emma interrupted, "Wait for a while."
"Anna is suffering in prison, so I can't wait!" Sophia was anxious. How could she bear to see her Anna living in prison?
The last time she visited, Anna had already lost a lot of weight. Who knew what she looked like now?
Emma sneered, "She's in prison because she deserves it."
"I know, I know, but..." Sophia couldn't hold back and blurted out, "If you hadn't been the mistress and ruined Anna and George's marriage, Anna wouldn't have done those things to you. Anna is kind!"
Emma couldn't help but think sarcastically, 'Anna, kind? What a joke! Sure, even ten Hannibals tied together wouldn't be as nice as Anna. And Sophia actually said I ruined Anna and George's relationship? Have they lied so much that they even believe their own lies?'
All the happiness Emma had stored up for the day vanished. Her face turned from joy to displeasure. She coldly responded, "I didn't ruin anyone's marriage. You have no right to judge me!"
The atmosphere instantly became tense. Henry tried to mediate, but it was no use. Emma's emotions grew more intense, filled with dissatisfaction and anger.
Why did Sophia always misunderstand her?
Couldn't she believe her just once?
Just once!
Once would be enough!
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to accuse you. I'm just worried about Anna, and I care about you too." Sophia's tone softened, but Emma wasn't listening.
"I don't need your concern!" Emma stood up angrily, ready to leave.
Every time she was compared to Anna, she always felt she got the short end of the stick.
At that moment, light footsteps were heard at the door. Lucas had come home from school and, seeing Emma, his eyes lit up with excitement.
"Isabella! You're here!" Lucas cheered, running towards Emma with a big smile on his face.
"Lucas, you're back from school." Emma's mood lightened a bit. Lucas's smile brought a bit of warmth to her heart.
"Did you come to see me? Can we eat together?"
Lucas spoke so many words in one breath that even Sophia and Henry were surprised. Lucas had always been a quiet, introverted child, not even talking much with them. They hadn't expected him to like Isabella so much.
They say children's eyes are the purest. Could it be that they had misunderstood Isabella?
Was Isabella not actually a mistress?
But that couldn't be.
When Isabella returned to the country, George and Anna already had Lucas. That kind of behavior was definitely ruining their relationship.
Sophia reassured herself that she hadn't done anything wrong.
The one who was wrong was Isabella.
But she didn't want to accuse Isabella because of this. She just wanted to persuade Isabella to turn back. Being a mistress was immoral, and she sincerely didn't want Isabella to become an immoral person.
Sophia warmly asked Emma, "Yes, stay and eat with us. Lyanna's specialty dish hasn't been served yet. Lyanna, are you ready?"
Sophia called a few times before Lyanna finally appeared.
"Lyanna, where's your specialty dish? Why hasn't it been served yet?"
"No need, Mrs. Stuart. I don't have the appetite." Emma didn't want to dine with people who accused her of being a mistress. She gently ruffled Lucas's hair and smiled warmly, "Sorry, Lucas. I'll treat you to a meal next time."
Lucas noticed Emma's mood and asked with concern, "What's wrong? Are you upset? Did someone bully you? I can protect you."
"It's nothing, I just have some things to take care of." Emma forced a smile, but her heart felt bitter.
Even a child with no blood relation was willing to protect her, but her own biological parents saw her as an enemy.
How ironic.
"I want to go with you!" Lucas said firmly.
"Lucas, you can't." Emma shook her head, her voice tinged with reluctance, "You need to stay here with Sophia and live well. You can't come with me."
"But I don't want to leave you!" Lucas's voice choked with emotion, his eyes brimming with tears, as if he was losing something important.
Emma felt a pang of sorrow. She knelt down, gently stroking Lucas's hair, her eyes full of tenderness.
"Lucas, you're a good boy. You need to be obedient, okay?" Emma added.
"I don't want to be obedient. I want to be with you!" Lucas had never expressed his feelings and needs so firmly. Emma still couldn't take him with her. After all, she had no ties to Lucas.
"Lucas, be good. Stay here, and I'll come visit you." Emma's heart was filled with helplessness. She then politely bowed to Sophia and Henry, "Thank you for the meal. I'll be leaving now."
Sophia quickly siad, "Lyanna, get the car."
"Get it." Lyanna nodded.
Emma wanted to say no, but Sophia gave her an irresistible reason.
"Lucas rarely feels this strongly about anyone," Sophia said. "Let him come with you to see you off."
Emma sighed. "Okay, for Lucas."
