Chapter 303 Zachary

"Zachary?" George's brow furrowed.

Auris Group was the biggest rival of the Russell Group, and Zachary's sudden invitation was clearly not out of goodwill. This was probably Emma's arrangement.

If that was the case, then he went along with Emma's plan.

"Set it up. I'll meet him personally."

In the top-floor office of Auris Group's headquarters, Zachary sat behind a large desk, twirling an elegant pen in his hand. He glanced towards the hidden room, a knowing smile playing on his lips.

Just a second before George walked in, Emma had been in his office.

Zachary smirked, "Are you sure you want me to humiliate your old flame?"

"Cut the crap." Emma replied coldly.

"Don't worry, humiliating proud people is my specialty. Scarlett actually thought she could marry into our family and get our financial support. Dream on! My sister would never marry such scum!" Zachary cursed, then suddenly remembered the scum he was referring to was Emma's husband, and awkwardly shut his mouth.

"You're right; he is scum," Emma agreed wholeheartedly and thought, 'Not just scum, but a murderer!'

Zachary said, "You can watch me from the hidden room!"

Emma slipped into the hidden room, and Zachary waited quietly for George.

When George entered the office, Zachary didn't stand up. He merely lifted his eyelids slightly, indicating for him to sit.

"Mr. Russell, what a rare occasion," Zachary's voice dripped with sarcasm. "I never thought there'd be a day when you'd come to me for help."

"Mr. Baker, I'm here to discuss the possibility of a partnership," George suppressed his anger, his tone restrained.

"Partnership?" Zachary chuckled, "Given the current state of the Russell Group, I doubt there's anything worth partnering with."

"We're just facing some temporary difficulties, but the Russell Group's strength and resources are still intact."

"Strength? Resources?" Zachary sneered, "Mr. Russell, are you still daydreaming? Your stock price has hit rock bottom, partners are terminating contracts, and even your core data has been leaked. What value does your company have for a partnership?"

Zachary's words were harsh but true. The Russell Group had lost its bargaining power.

"Mr. Baker, if you're willing to help, I can offer some shares, even..." George was cut off by Zachary.

"Shares? Mr. Russell, are you that naive? The Russell Group's shares are worthless now. What else do you have to trade with me?" Zachary scoffed.

George's fists clenched, his nails nearly digging into his palms. He never imagined he'd be humiliated like this. But the current situation left him no choice; he had to endure the humiliation and seek a bailout.

"Mr. Baker, if you could just..."

Zachary interrupted George again.

"Mr. Russell, save it." Zachary stood up, looking down at him with disdain and indifference, "The Russell Group's fate is sealed. Instead of wasting time here, you should think about how to clean up the mess."

George's face turned dark, and his anger nearly boiled over. But he knew his rage was pointless. He took a deep breath, swallowed his pride, and left the office.

Outside the Auris Group headquarters, George stood in the cold wind, contemplating the future of the Russell Group.

"George, are you okay?" Emma's voice suddenly came from behind.

George turned to see Emma standing a short distance away, her eyes filled with complex emotions.

"Isabella, what are you doing here?" George asked, his voice tinged with suspicion.

"Just passing by," she replied, her tone evasive.

George's eyes darkened. Was Emma still not willing to tell him the truth?

Emma looked at George's dejected expression, recalling Zachary's earlier confrontation with him, and felt a mix of emotions.

He thought, 'Just for the sake of Lucas and Charles, leave some assets for the Russell family.'

But the Russell Group had to change hands.

In the top-floor office of Auris Group's headquarters, Zachary stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, holding a glass of red wine, his gaze deep as he looked into the distance. A satisfied smile played on his lips as he felt pleased with his recent meeting with George.

"George, you finally got what you deserve," he muttered, his tone mocking.

Just then, the office door opened quietly, and Michael walked in. His steps were steady, and a calm smile played on his lips, as if everything was under control.

"Mr. Baker, how did it go?" Michael's eyes gleamed sharply.

"Everything is going according to plan," Zachary turned, a confident smile on his face, "George is at his wit's end. He just came to me, seeking a partnership, but I humiliated him."

"Good," Michael nodded slightly, satisfaction flickering in his eyes, "The Russell Group is on the brink of collapse. We just need to deliver the final blow, and the Russell family's prestige and control will crumble completely. Then, we can offer the board a small incentive, and the Russell Group will be ours."

"Yes, Mr. Russell," Zachary's voice tinged with excitement, "I've already set the next steps in motion. Within three months, the Russell Group will be under our control."

"Tell me more," Michael sat down on the sofa, his eyes gleaming with anticipation.

"First, we'll continue to pressure them through the media and public opinion, further damaging their reputation," Zachary sat across from Michael, his tone cold, "At the same time, we'll use the core data we have to gradually eat away at their market share."

"Excellent," Michael nodded, a hint of approval in his eyes, "George is now at his wit's end. A little more pressure, and he'll completely collapse."

He continued, "I've arranged meetings with the remaining partners of the Russell Group. They'll all terminate their contracts within a week. By then, George will be completely isolated."
