Chapter 202 Organ Trade
After waiting for a while, the driver came back to the car but still didn't drive off.
A moment later, Willow finally stepped out. She'd been hiding inside the whole time.
Willow was super cautious. She made a quick move to check her surroundings before slipping into a rundown building in the slums.
Emma used binoculars while Elizabeth controlled a drone to keep tabs on Willow from afar. They watched as she hurried into an apartment with a rusty door.
Inside the apartment, through the window, they saw a young man quickly close the curtains. He glanced outside, seemed to notice the drone, and smirked provocatively.
With the curtains drawn, they couldn't see anything more.
Elizabeth had a nagging feeling she'd seen this guy somewhere before, but she couldn't quite place him.
After about an hour, the man reopened the curtains, then went downstairs and drove off. Emma jotted down his license plate number but didn't follow him.
Instead, they kept their focus on Willow.
As night fell, they decided it was time to move since Willow hadn't come out. They went to the man's apartment, and Elizabeth picked the lock. Inside, they found Willow tied to a chair, looking dazed.
When she saw Emma and Elizabeth, fear flashed in her eyes. "Who are you?"
"We're with Anna," Emma said firmly, locking eyes with her. "We're here to get you out."
Willow's expression shifted slightly, as if she were weighing her options.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"Cut the crap! You know what you've done, and you know Anna won't let you go. The living can't keep secrets as well as the dead. Either you die, or Anna does. Your choice." Emma stepped closer and untied Willow.
Willow asked anxiously, "Who are you really?"
Elizabeth replied, "We're on your side."
Willow hesitated, then sighed. "Can I trust you?"
"You don't have a choice." Emma added.
"Alright, we'll work together." Willow said.
"Then show some sincerity," Emma said darkly.
Willow began to spill what she knew. Behind the mass student deaths was a secret organization running illegal experiments and organ trafficking using students.
And the middleman was Anna, who would lure students into health check-ups to collect their DNA info.
If a high-ranking official or wealthy person needed a matching organ or blood, the corresponding student would accidentally die.
These secrets weren't supposed to be known by Willow, but Anna had drunkenly revealed them one night. Willow had to pretend she knew nothing to stay alive and continued to be an accomplice.
After graduation, they lost contact.
Willow thought it was all behind her until it came up again at a recent class reunion.
Emma asked, "Why did you come here?"
"Because..."
Suddenly, Willow coughed up a lot of blood. She collapsed, convulsing on the floor. Emma and Elizabeth were stunned, and before they could call for help, Willow's body went completely still.
"Damn it! We need to go!" Emma shouted urgently.
But it was too late. The familiar young man reappeared behind them.
He said, "Ms. Perez, long time no see."
Elizabeth's mind raced, and she suddenly remembered where she had seen him. When Clarence picked her up at the police station, there was a young man dressed as a secretary with him. It was him!
Why was he here?
Could the organ trafficking be connected to Clarence?
Was her kidnapping orchestrated by Clarence?
Had all her efforts to find Aurora been thwarted by these powerful people?
As these questions swirled in her mind, Elizabeth felt overwhelmed.
Just when they thought they were doomed, the young man sighed and said to Elizabeth, "Ms. Perez, stop investigating. The forces behind this are beyond what you and I can handle."
With that, he pushed them out of the room, staying behind to destroy the evidence.
Emma wasn't sure how she made it home. Her initial goal in investigating this was simply to take down Anna. But the deeper she dug, the more complicated it became.
Now it had escalated beyond their control.
Just then, there was a knock on Emma's bedroom door. Elizabeth entered, holding a memory card.
Elizabeth said, "This was slipped into my pocket by that guy. Do you want to see it?"
"Yes."
They inserted the memory card into the computer and watched the contents. The video was extremely gruesome, showing doctors dismembering bodies. Standing beside the doctors was a familiar woman—Anna.
This evidence was enough to convict Anna of murder.
For an ordinary person, this evidence would be enough to send Anna to prison for life. But she was George's favorite.
To bring Anna to justice, Emma needed to win George over to her side.
Emma immediately suggested to Elizabeth that they go to a bar. She needed to act quickly to seduce George.
Emma said, "Elizabeth, I need your help."
"Just tell me what to do." Elizabeth replied.
As night fell, the city's neon lights flickered in a myriad of colors, and cheerful music played in the bar. Emma and Elizabeth sat at the bar, several drinks in front of them. Emma's laughter was clear and captivating, drawing the attention of many around them.
"Another drink!" Emma raised her glass, her eyes gleaming with a drunken sparkle. She was stunning, like the brightest star in the bar.
Elizabeth looked at her with some concern. "You've had a lot, Emma. Maybe you should slow down."
"I'm fine; I can handle it!" Emma shook her head and continued to pour more drinks. Her cheeks were slightly flushed, making her even more alluring.
As time passed, Emma's drunkenness became more apparent, and she started to sway at the bar. Elizabeth knew this couldn't go on and decided to call George to come and take Emma home.
Elizabeth picked up Emma's phone and dialed George's number.
After a few rings, George answered, his voice deep and gentle, "Emma?"
"No, it's her friend," Elizabeth quickly explained. "Isabella is drunk and keeps calling your name. Can you come and take her home?"
"She's drunk?" George's voice was tinged with concern. "Where is she now?"
