Chapter 28 Ex-Boyfriend

That was ridiculous! George had been into Anna from day one.

So, what did that make her?

What was that summer all about?

And what about that dude walking with her at sunset?

"Emma, meeting you was the best thing that ever happened to me. You're my favorite," the guy said.

Mia was right, dudes lied all the time.

Right then, Emma felt super uncomfortable, not just heartache, but the tumor inside her that was gonna end her life started hurting like crazy.

She couldn't handle this heart-wrenching scene anymore. Emma wanted to bail, but as soon as she turned around, she bumped into someone.

She was a bit out of it and couldn't hold the wine bottle steady. The bottle, worth a fortune, hit the ground and shattered.

Emma's face went pale, and suddenly someone grabbed her wrist and pulled her over.

"Emma, long time no see. Miss me?" the guy said with a sly grin, his eyes full of greed.

That voice.

Emma would never forget that disgusting voice; it could only be that creep, Tom Green, Anna's ex.

A few years back, Tom had harassed her and even tried to rape her. Anna was right there, watching with a sneaky smile.

But now, Anna pretended not to recognize him, looked at Tom for a bit, and then acted like she just remembered.

"Oh, I remember now, you're Emma's boyfriend, right? I used to see you at her place all the time. When did you two break up? I had no idea."

George's face got colder.

Tom and Anna must've planned this. Today, Tom's role was to play Emma's ex. Right now, he was holding Emma's wrist with a sinister smile.

"Emma, why are you in such a rush to leave? We haven't even talked yet," Tom's voice was low and menacing, his eyes full of malice.

Emma tried to stay calm and attempted to get out of there.

Tom grabbed her wrist, pulling her closer. "I heard you married into money, and now you don't wanna admit we had a thing?"

"What are you talking about?" Emma's heart raced, and her face went pale. "I never had anything with you!"

"Stop pretending. You weren't like this when you were with me. Is it 'cause I didn't give you enough? Two hundred bucks? How about I give you two hundred this time? I used to give you a hundred each time," Tom's lips curled into a mocking smile, his eyes full of smugness.

Emma felt a wave of nausea, her heart filled with anger and helplessness. She wanted to break free, but Tom's grip was too strong.

"Let me go!" she struggled with all her might, her voice filled with despair.

"Why should I? We used to be so good together," Tom's smile grew more sinister, his eyes gleaming with malice. "I still remember, you have a mole on your left chest!"

Emma did have a mole on her chest, but that didn't mean anything.

It must've been Anna who told him, but by mentioning a sensitive part of her body in front of George, it seemed to confirm that Emma and he had a past.

Anna gasped in shock, "Oh my God! Emma, so this guy isn't your ex? Does he pay you every time you hook up? So you were selling yourself for money? Emma, how could you stoop so low! You'd sleep with any guy for a hundred bucks!"

Emma felt extremely nauseous. She wanted to shut Anna up, but the sudden intense pain from the tumor made her unable to speak.

Her silence seemed like an admission to George.

Ethan was at least a talented young man, but Tom was just a thug!

How many guys had Emma been with?

What a slut!
