Chapter 274 Intimidation

The wedding was in full swing, with guests laughing and chatting, and the dazzling lights creating a romantic and warm atmosphere. However, in the midst of this happiness, the driver brought Scarlett to the wedding venue.

Her face was filled with anger, her eyes blazing with discontent, ready to explode at any moment.

"Stop the car!" Scarlett commanded, and the driver immediately complied. She got off and walked towards the wedding.

From a distance, she could hear the priest's voice.

"Ms. Taylor, do you take this man to be your husband, to live together in marriage? Will you love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness and in health, in prosperity and adversity, and forsaking all others, be faithful to him as long as you both shall live?"

"I do." It was Isabella's voice.

Scarlett scoffed. It was the dream of many women to marry into the Russell family.

The priest then turned to George. "Mr. Russell, do you take this woman to be your wife, to live together in marriage? Will you love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health, in prosperity and adversity, and forsaking all others, be faithful to her as long as you both shall live?"

"I do." George sincerely turned to Isabella.

The priest addressed the guests, "Do you all agree to support this couple in their marriage?"

"We do." The guests unanimously agreed.

"I don't!" Scarlett's voice thundered through the venue, halting the ceremony. All eyes turned to her, and the atmosphere grew tense.

"Did you get my permission to get married?" Scarlett's voice was sharp and confrontational.

"Your objection is irrelevant," George said coldly.

Scarlett ignored him and turned to Emma, her tone haughty. "Isabella, I'm your mother-in-law! If you want to marry into our family, you need to bow to me first!"

Scarlett's voice echoed through the venue, shocking everyone.

Emma looked at Scarlett's furious expression and smirked instead of showing any worry or fear.

"I will not bow to you!" Emma responded firmly.

"That's right, she won't!" George stepped forward, his gaze piercing as he stared at Scarlett. His voice was deep and powerful, exuding a strong presence. "Isabella is my wife, and you have no right to command her to bow to you!"

"How dare you oppose me for Isabella?" Scarlett asked angrily, filled with disbelief.

In the past, whenever she had conflicts with Anna or Emma, George had always sided with her!

"She is my wife, and of course, I will protect her," George said firmly. His eyes were resolute, declaring his stance.

Scarlett's face grew darker. "Won't bow? Fine! Then this ceremony won't continue!" she shouted, her voice filled with endless rage. Her heart was full of hatred for Isabella.

Isabella had taken away the bond she had with George.

The scene was at a standstill when Charles slowly stepped out from the crowd, his sharp gaze sweeping over the wedding venue. His presence instantly made the atmosphere heavy, and everyone fell silent.

"That's enough, Scarlett. Go home," Charles commanded with undeniable authority.

His gaze fell on Scarlett, exerting an invisible pressure.

"Scarlett!" Charles raised his voice, and Scarlett's heart trembled.

Finally, Scarlett turned around reluctantly, her hatred for Isabella deepening.

'Just you wait, Isabella! I don't believe George can protect you forever!' she vowed silently, her eyes flashing with malice. As long as Isabella stepped into the Russell Mansion, she would make Isabella's life miserable!

She knew plenty of ways to torment a daughter-in-law in a wealthy family.

What Emma had gone through, Isabella wouldn't escape either!

With Scarlett no longer causing trouble, the wedding proceeded smoothly. Sophia and Henry, who were among the invited guests, sat in their seats, watching George and Isabella, with mixed feelings. They couldn't help but regret ever thinking Isabella wasn't good enough for George.

After the ceremony, Sophia approached Emma and handed her a beautifully crafted piece of jewelry. Emma, knowledgeable in the field, immediately recognized its value. It was a piece Sophia had bought for $3 million at a Sunterra auction two years ago.

She couldn't believe they were willing to give it away.

"Mrs. Stuart, you..." Emma hesitated to accept it.

"Ms. Taylor, please accept it. This is our apology and a token of gratitude. If it weren't for your help, we might still be deceived by them," Sophia said with a bitter smile.

Emma smiled calmly. "Then I wish you happiness in your future."

The grand wedding concluded peacefully.

Technically, George should have taken Emma back to the Russell Mansion, but he didn't want her to suffer, so they stayed at the Russell Villa with Lucas.

Scarlett tried to bypass George and target Emma directly. She bombarded her with messages that Emma ignored. Undeterred, Scarlett called Emma repeatedly, trying to lecture her.

But Emma simply blocked her number.

With no other option, Scarlett called George. "George, tomorrow is my birthday. Why don't you all come home?"

George didn't respond, but Scarlett knew what he meant. She promised earnestly, "Don't worry, you're married now. What could I possibly do to her? I'm just getting old and want you all to spend more time with me."

"Alright, we'll come tomorrow," George finally agreed, his heart softening towards Scarlett.

However, Emma knew Scarlett's true nature and anticipated more trouble.

Whatever Scarlett planned, Emma didn't care.

The more trouble Scarlett caused, the more strained their mother-son relationship would become.

Scarlett and George falling apart was just another entertaining show for Emma.
