Chapter 421 Disdain

Every piece from Lunora was handcrafted and released in limited quantities, coveted by celebrities and royalty alike. The designers at Lunora were hailed as magicians of the fashion world, and each season's new collection launch was a major event in the global fashion scene. Some people even compared owning a Lunora gown to holding a passport to the fashion world.

The store was located in the bustling heart of downtown, with gold-trimmed glass windows displaying a few breathtakingly luxurious gowns, each one looking like it stepped out of a fairy tale. The interior was the epitome of opulence, with crystal chandeliers casting dazzling light, marble floors polished to a mirror finish, and a faint scent of perfume in the air, making even the act of breathing feel elegant.

The next day at noon, Sophia was already waiting at the entrance, holding a limited-edition Hermès bag, her face barely able to conceal her excitement. She kept checking her watch and glancing into the distance. "Where is Emma?"

Emma: [I'm caught in traffic and running a little behind schedule.]

Sophia immediately relaxed, a smile spreading across her face.

Sophia: [No worries, take your time. Safety first.]

She decided to browse a bit on her own and pick out a few dresses for Emma to try on when she arrived. She walked into the store gracefully in her high heels, and a sales associate quickly approached her with a bright smile. "Good afternoon, ma'am. Can I help you with anything?"

Sophia waved her hand casually. "I'm just looking around for now. I'll try things on when my daughter gets here." The sales associate nodded and stepped back, while Sophia began carefully selecting dresses in the gown section, occasionally holding one up to the mirror and thinking, "This one is nice, Emma would look great in it."

Meanwhile, Emma had just left the hospital and was hurrying to the Lunora store.

She had been taking care of Charles and was dressed in comfortable, affordable clothes for convenience—a simple white T-shirt paired with jeans, flat shoes, her long hair tied in a ponytail, and no makeup, looking as plain as a student.

She pushed open the glass door of the store, her modest attire starkly contrasting with the luxurious decor inside. She looked around, trying to spot Sophia, but instead saw a sales associate standing nearby, eyeing her with disdain.

The sales associate, a young woman with immaculate makeup and wearing the brand's uniform, held a tablet and looked down her nose at Emma. "Can I help you with something?" she asked coldly.

Emma glanced at her calmly. "I'm here to find someone."

The sales associate scoffed, her eyes filled with undisguised contempt. "Find someone? This is Lunora. Not just anyone can walk in here. Are you sure you're in the right place?"

Emma frowned slightly but remained calm. "I'm looking for Mrs. Stuart. She should be here."

The mention of Mrs. Stuart made the sales associate's expression change slightly, but she quickly reverted to her disdainful look. "Really? Mrs. Stuart is one of our VIPs. What is your relationship with her?"

Emma replied evenly, "I'm her daughter."

The sales associate was taken aback for a moment, then burst into laughter, her voice sharp and grating. "Are you kidding me? Mrs. Stuart's daughter would never dress like this. This place isn't for just anyone. Please leave immediately and stop disturbing our other customers."

Emma's eyes grew cold, but her voice remained steady, with a hint of authority. "I'll say it again. I'm Mrs. Stuart's daughter. If you don't want trouble, you'd better mind your own business."

The sales associate was momentarily intimidated by Emma's demeanor but quickly regained her arrogance. "Oh, really? Fine, if you won't leave, I'll call security."

She picked up her walkie-talkie, about to call for security, when the sound of high heels clicking and a strong perfume filled the air. Everyone turned to Phoenix strutting in, wearing a lavish Chanel outfit and carrying the latest LV bag.

As soon as she entered, her eyes landed on Emma, and a look of disdain and mockery flashed across her face.

"Well, if it isn't Emma. What are you doing here? This is Lunora's boutique, not a place for someone dressed in cheap clothes like you."

Emma looked at her calmly. "I'm here to buy a gown. Is there a problem with that?"

Phoenix sneered, her eyes full of scorn. "Are you able to afford the dresses here? Do you even know how much these gowns cost? One of them could feed you for a year. Stop embarrassing yourself and leave before you lower the tone of the place."

The sales associate, seeing Phoenix, immediately put on a fawning smile and approached her. "Ms. Lewis, you're here! This lady was trying to force her way in. We were just about to call security."

Phoenix nodded in satisfaction, her tone haughty. "Good job. People like her should be thrown out. We can't have them lowering Lunora's standards."

Emma remained calm, her eyes cold. "Phoenix, don't you think you're overstepping? Mind your business."

Phoenix laughed derisively. "Emma, stop making a fool of yourself. George probably doesn't have much money left for you to spend. Just leave already!"

"Are you no longer living off the Russell family?" Emma retorted. "How dare you can talk to me like this?"

"What nonsense are you spouting?" Phoenix was instantly furious.

"My aunt is willing to give me money. None of your business! Do you have such a generous aunt?"

"The money she gives you is from the Russell family. Now that the Russell family is in decline, I haven't even asked you to return that money, and here you are, showing up on your own." Emma looked Phoenix up and down thoughtfully. "What, have you found a new sugar daddy?"

"I make my own money!" Emma sneered.

At that moment, Sophia emerged from the fitting room, holding a gown, her face soft with a gentle smile. "Emma, you're here. I picked out a dress for you to try on. I think it will suit you perfectly."

Phoenix was stunned to see Sophia, her face turning awkward. She stammered, "Mrs. Stuart, what are you doing here?"

Sophia gave her a cool look, a hint of displeasure in her voice. "I'm here with my daughter to buy a gown. Is there a problem with that?"

Phoenix's face turned pale. She had assumed Emma was alone and hadn't expected Sophia to be there too.
