Chapter 337 Reunion

Emma took a deep breath. "We don't have a choice. I'll get the money ready, and you guys set up the operation. We need to ensure Lucas's safety."

Ethan nodded. "Don't worry, we'll do everything we can."

Emma quickly stood up and rushed to the bank. Lucas's voice echoed in her mind, filling her with anxiety and unease. A strange thought suddenly crossed her mind: if something happened to both her and Lucas, would their family be reunited in another world?

She shook her head, dismissing the thought.

Lucas would be okay!

Two hours later, Emma's phone rang again. She answered quickly, her voice tinged with urgency. "I have the money ready. Tell me the drop-off location."

The man's voice remained cold. "Good. Load the money into a truck and park it at the south gate of Morning Dew Gardens. Then you can leave. Remember, come alone. If I see any cops or anyone else following, the deal is off, and your son is dead."

Emma gritted her teeth, her voice firm. "I'll do as you say, but I need to ensure Lucas's safety."

The man sneered. "As long as you follow my instructions, your son will be fine. Don't try anything funny, Emma. I'm the one calling the shots here."

The call ended, and Emma's heart pounded in her chest.

She quickly arranged for workers to load the cash into the truck, then drove to Morning Dew Gardens.

In the darkness, Emma's figure seemed especially lonely.

Meanwhile, Ethan and his team had already set up a covert operation around the south gate of Morning Dew Gardens, waiting for the right moment.

This was a race against time, and they had to act carefully to save Lucas.

As Ethan stood ready, one of his subordinates was distracted by a strange Morse code signal.

Emma sat in the driver's seat, gripping the steering wheel tightly, her eyes intensely focused on the darkness. The night at Morning Dew Gardens was eerily quiet, with only the dim glow of streetlights and the occasional drunk or homeless person stumbling by, casting curious glances at the truck before wandering off.

As she waited, Emma's heartbeat quickened.

The man was surely watching her from some hidden corner, waiting for her to get out.

Her fingers drummed on the steering wheel, trying to calm herself and think about her next move.

Sure enough, Emma's phone rang again.

The man's voice was cold and threatening. "Get out of the car, now!"

"Where's my son? I won't leave until I see him."

"You don't get to make demands." Even over the phone, Emma could hear Lucas's pained cries.

Her Lucas was suffering!

"What are you doing to Lucas? I warn you, if you hurt him, I'll take you down with me!"

The man sneered. "How dare you?"

"A desperate mother has nothing to lose."

Emma's determination seemed to shock the man, and his arrogance wavered. He actually revealed Lucas's location. "Can you see the south gate? There's a ticket booth at the entrance. Your son is inside. But you better hurry, because there's a timed bomb on him."

Emma heard a series of beeping alarms.

Her heart clenched as if gripped by an invisible hand. Her breathing became rapid, her mind blank except for the words "timed bomb" echoing in her ears. She gripped the steering wheel so tightly her knuckles turned white, her eyes fixed on the south gate, as if she could see Lucas through the darkness.

"Timed bomb, Lucas." Her voice trembled, barely escaping her throat. She pictured Lucas's small figure, tied up in some corner, helplessly awaiting death. Her heart felt like it was being torn apart, the pain almost unbearable.

"No, no, no!" Emma muttered, her voice filled with despair and fear. Her body shook uncontrollably, tears streaming down her face, blurring her vision. She lunged for the door, her hand reaching for the lock.

At that moment, a warm, strong hand grabbed her wrist, forcing her back into her seat. Emma turned sharply to see Mia sitting in the passenger seat, her eyes steady and calm.

"Emma, calm down!"

Emma couldn't stop her tears, her voice breaking. "Mia, Lucas has a timed bomb on him! I have to save him, I have to!"

Mia held her shoulders firmly, looking her in the eye. "Emma, listen to me! It's a trap! That man is lying! Lucas isn't here; he's at Lakeside Haven West Factory. Ethan is already on his way! If you rush out now, you'll fall right into their trap!"

Mia showed her phone, displaying a text from Ethan. [Got intel, Lucas is at Lakeside Haven West Factory. We're on our way. What's your status?]

Emma's breathing was erratic, disbelief in her voice. "But the alarm, I heard it! Lucas..."

Mia's voice was even more resolute. "It's fake! They're trying to lure you out! Emma, you have to trust me! Lucas isn't here, and Ethan's team is already moving! If you go out now, you won't save Lucas, and you'll put yourself in danger!"

Emma's body still trembled, but a glimmer of reason returned to her eyes. She clutched Mia's hand, her voice filled with helplessness and pleading. "But what if Lucas is really there? What if the bomb is real? I can't lose him."

Mia's voice softened but remained firm. "Emma, I understand how you feel, but you have to stay calm. That man is exploiting your fear, trying to make you lose your mind."

Emma's tears continued to fall, but her breathing gradually steadied. She closed her eyes, taking a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down. She knew Mia was right; she couldn't lose her head, or things would only get worse.

After a while, Emma's mind quickly forming a bold plan.
