Chapter 393 Take Me Away

George dropped Phoenix off at Scarlett's small apartment without even getting out of the car. Sitting in the passenger seat, he said, "We're here. Get out." His tone was calm but carried an undeniable finality.

Phoenix, however, refused to accept it. She clung tightly to George's sleeve, her eyes filled with urgency and a hint of grievance. "George, I don't want to stay here. It's too small, and I'm not used to it. Let me come back to the villa with you. I can take care of you."

George frowned, a cold glint in his eyes. "No."

Phoenix felt a wave of disappointment but wasn't ready to give up. She bit her lip, her voice tinged with pleading. "George, I really don't want to stay here alone. Please let me come back with you. I promise I won't bother you."

Seeing George remain silent, Phoenix steeled herself and added, "I also promise I won't cause any trouble for Emma!"

Scarlett had made this promise countless times before, but never once had she kept it.

George ignored her, turning to Joshua. "Let's go." Phoenix reluctantly got out of the car.

Joshua nodded and drove away, leaving Phoenix standing at the apartment entrance, her face dark with frustration.

As the car disappeared into the distance, dissatisfaction and anger filled Phoenix's heart.

She gritted her teeth and muttered under her breath, "George, if you think you can get rid of me this easily, you're wrong. I won't give up."

Meanwhile, George sat in the car, his expression stern.

He said to Joshua, "Look into my mom's recent activities, especially if she's been in contact with anyone suspicious."

On the other side, Phoenix, unwilling to stay in the cramped apartment, sneaked out under the cover of night.

She made her way to George's villa, lurking around the area.

At the same time, Jack, who had barely survived an ordeal and was now penniless, had to walk back to Scarlett's apartment.

As he arrived, he saw Scarlett sneaking out of the apartment, looking suspicious. Jack frowned, a wave of doubt washing over him. "Could Scarlett really be having an affair?"

He decided to follow Scarlett to see what she was up to. Jack trailed behind her cautiously, his eyes filled with malice. He smirked to himself, "Scarlett, if you're betraying me, I won't let you get away with it."

Phoenix, unaware that Jack was following her, continued towards George's villa.

She reached the villa and hid behind a tree, observing the place.

Jack, hiding at a distance, watched Scarlett with growing suspicion.

Phoenix lingered around the villa for a while, disappointed by the lack of activity. She was about to knock on the door, confident that George wouldn't turn away someone posing as his mother.

Just as Phoenix was about to knock, Jack was convinced that Scarlett was indeed having an affair.

She must be here to meet her lover.

It wasn't entirely Jack's fault for misunderstanding. Ever since Phoenix started impersonating Scarlett, she dressed flamboyantly, nothing like a woman in her forties or fifties, and her behavior had become much more coquettish.

To Jack, it seemed Scarlett had fallen in love.

George's villa was a new acquisition, one Jack knew nothing about. If he had known, he would have moved in himself, likely kicking out Charles and Emma in the process.

Furious, Jack suddenly rushed out from his hiding spot, grabbing Phoenix's wrist. "Scarlett, you really are having an affair! You bitch, how dare you betray me!"

Jack was convinced of her guilt.

Phoenix was startled, her face turning pale. She struggled to free herself from Jack's grip, shouting angrily, "Jack, are you crazy? Let go of me!"

Jack refused to let go, his eyes filled with rage. "Scarlett, don't try to deny it! I saw you sneaking out. How dare you commit such a betrayal against me! You bitch, I'm going to teach you a lesson today!"

Phoenix felt a wave of panic but quickly regained her composure. She sneered, her eyes full of disdain. "Jack, you have no authority over me. We're divorced. I can do whatever I want, and it's none of your business!"

Jack's face darkened further. "Divorced? Who agreed to that? Scarlett, you can't get rid of me! Today, I'll show you the price of betrayal!"

Jack had completely lost his mind. If Phoenix didn't escape, the consequences would be dire.

Phoenix gritted her teeth and shoved Jack hard, then turned and ran.

Jack stumbled but quickly regained his balance and chased after her, shouting, "Scarlett, you can't run! I'll catch you and your gigolo today!"

At that moment, a car approached, its headlights illuminating the road ahead. Phoenix's heart leaped with hope, and she ran towards the car, shouting, "Help! Help!"

The car, with excellent soundproofing, drove past Phoenix and stopped at George's villa.

Phoenix thought the driver might be George and was about to call for help when she saw a stranger step out. He was tall, dressed in casual clothes, looking like an ordinary college student.

He walked calmly to the door and knocked lightly.

A moment later, Emma opened the door, a faint smile on her face, her eyes showing a hint of joy. She stepped aside to let the man in, then closed the door. This scene was witnessed by both Phoenix and Jack, who were stunned, their minds reeling.

The two, who had been at each other's throats moments ago, suddenly paused.

"Emma dares to cheat!" Phoenix's eyes flashed with malice, her anger boiling over. She wanted to rush in and strangle Emma with her own hands. "That bitch, how dare she betray George? I'll make her pay!"

Jack grabbed her arm, warning her in a low voice, "Don't be impulsive. Let's see what's going on first."

Though shocked, Jack knew that affairs were common in wealthy families. Besides, Emma's infidelity had nothing to do with him. In fact, he felt a slight sense of satisfaction. George, the mighty and devoted one, was now being cheated on by Emma.

Phoenix suppressed her anger, giving Jack a cold glance, calculating in her mind. "Since you're here, I'll use you against Emma." She pretended to be calm and whispered, "Fine, let's observe and see what they're up to."

They hid in the bushes outside the villa, watching intently. Jack frowned and asked in a low voice, "Scarlett, what's going on? Why are you here?"
