Chapter 243 Hatred

Anna looked up and saw the prison guard holding a photo.

"Check this out," the guard said, handing her the picture with a mocking grin.

Anna took the photo and saw Emma, Sophia, and Henry enjoying ice cream together. Their bright smiles seemed to mock her loneliness and despair.

A surge of anger filled Anna's heart, and her face turned pale.

"Your parents don't give a damn about you. They've already replaced you with another daughter. You're just a pathetic abandoned wretch!" the guard continued to taunt her, his voice dripping with malice.

"Shut up!" Anna screamed.

Her hands clenched into fists, her nails digging into her palms, but the pain couldn't quell the fury inside her.

"You're a failure. How long has it been since your parents visited you? You'll never escape this place," the guard said coldly, his eyes gleaming with cruel satisfaction.

Anna's emotions spiraled out of control, her anger erupting like a volcano. She tore the photo to shreds and began to smash everything in the workroom. Tools and equipment clattered to the floor with deafening crashes.

The guards rushed in, pinning Anna to the ground and forcibly restraining her.

"Let go of me, you bastards!" Anna struggled desperately, her voice echoing through the prison corridors, a wild release of her pent-up frustration and pain.

She knew it. Sophia and Henry never saw her as their real daughter. Not only did they not rescue her, but they also accepted Isabella as their daughter!

Why did Isabella deserve happiness?

"A loser like you dares to fight back!" the guards sneered as they dragged her back to her cell.

Anna pounded on the cell door in despair.

"All you do is cry! Pathetic!" a fellow inmate scoffed, her eyes full of disdain.

"What did you say?" Anna's anger flared, her dissatisfaction boiling over. She lunged at the inmate, wanting to vent her rage.

"Who do you think you are? Trying to act like a queen here?" The inmate fought back mercilessly, and several others quickly joined in.

Anna was overwhelmed, fists and kicks raining down on her. Pain surged through her body like a tidal wave. Her face was bruised, and blood trickled from the corner of her mouth.

'You'll pay for this!' Anna vowed through gritted teeth, her mind seething with hatred. 'Sophia, Henry, and Isabella, you all have to die!'

In her heart, the hatred spread like wildfire, uncontrollable. No matter the cost, she would make them feel the pain she endured.

'I'll make you regret this!' Anna roared internally, but her body remained pinned down by the other inmates, unable to move.

When the guards arrived, the inmates all pointed fingers at Anna.

"She started it. We were just defending ourselves. Officer, we're innocent," the ringleader feigned innocence. Everyone knew she was lying, but no one spoke up.

They were deliberately framing Anna. The guards knew it too, but Anna was also helpless.

"That's not true!" Her voice was frantic. How could they twist the truth like this?

Anna tried to explain to the guards, but they wouldn't listen. They looked at her with cold contempt.

"You're nothing but trouble. Lock her in solitary confinement to reflect on her actions!" the guard ordered harshly.

The door to the solitary cell closed with a heavy thud, sealing away her last shred of hope.

Surrounded by cold walls, the small space felt inescapable, as if the entire world had shut her out. Darkness quickly enveloped her, and Anna's heart raced with suffocating fear.

Time in solitary seemed to stretch endlessly.

No light, no sound, only the faint echo of her own breathing, amplifying her loneliness.

In the first few hours, Anna tried to stay calm, telling herself it was just a temporary punishment. But as time dragged on, the darkness began to erode her sanity. Her mind replayed the scenes of being beaten by the inmates, filling her with terror.

"Why are they doing this to me? What did I do wrong?" she questioned herself repeatedly, but no answers came. The oppressive solitude weighed heavily on her, as if an invisible hand was choking her, making it hard to breathe.

As time passed, Anna's emotions spiraled out of control.

She wanted to move her limbs, but the cell was too small. She couldn't even stretch out, forced to stay in the same position, her body stiffening. Blood seemed to stop flowing, and her nerves began to numb.

She felt herself mentally breaking down, the darkness expanding, swallowing her reason and hope. Her thoughts became chaotic, lost in the endless void.

"I need to get out!" She pounded on the cell door, her voice weak in the confined space. Her cries went unanswered, met only by the unyielding darkness and silence.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Anna was released.

As she stepped out of solitary, the light stung her eyes, making her feel disoriented, as if she had just woken from a nightmare. Her mind was in a state of chaos. Her eyes were empty, and her face was pale and lifeless.

She suddenly thought of Lucas, wondering if he felt the same when he was locked in the storage room.

Anna laughed bitterly and thought, 'Damn it, if only I had kept Lucas locked up longer and driven him insane, then I wouldn't be in this mess now.'

While Anna suffered, Emma was enjoying the warmth of family.

After a fun day at the amusement park, they hadn't even returned home yet when Sophia called the housekeeper, Lyanna, from the car. "Lyanna, we have a guest tonight. Prepare dinner."

"Get it, Mrs. Stuart. I'll make sure everything is perfect," Lyanna's voice came through the phone, sounding very serious.

When they arrived home, Lyanna was already waiting at the door, a professional smile on her face. But when she saw Isabella step out of the car, her smile froze, her eyes flickering with complex emotions.

"Welcome back, Mrs. Stuart," Lyanna said, trying to suppress her feelings, her voice still polite but tinged with coldness.

Emma, always wary of Lyanna, noticed the change but still walked into the villa with a bright smile.
